Product Description
"Underground Famous is a strong indie release that will easily appease fans looking for fresh & creative music to enjoy. The album is stacked with fourteen full length tracks, over seventy minutes, of entertainment & insight. Fluent is talented, and he earns a ton of respect & recognition for this strong indie release that is a smorgasbord of dazzling lyrics, and explosive beats.

Fluent is abrasive with his lyrics, a down to earth, put it all on the line type of lyricist. Fluent is intense, creative, witty, & energetic on the microphone. His flow is tight, his punch lines are witty & funny, his rhymes are well written, and his delivery is impressive. Fluent spits a million bars and never has the need to surface for air. He dazzles fans effortlessly with his music, talent, and skills. Fluent gets heads nodding in a fraction of a second, and ears never tune out or away from his commanding, and captivating vocals.

Underground Famous more than deserves listening attention. The album sets off with an average introduction track - not the best way to introduce an album's music to fans, but intro's never are in any regards. Intro's never add to the music, and always take away from the flow of an album. Once fans get past the minute or so of the introduction, they are pleasantly delivered into a non-stop, ever fresh, & continuously dazzling array of fourteen incredible full length tracks, the first being Guarantee. Guarantee is a strong track that does a great job introducing Fluent & his music to fans. The beat is equally as impressive & explosive as the lyrics. The next track, entitled "Dreams Come True", continues to stimulate fans with another incredibly strong beat, and some of Fluents best laid bars on the entire album. The album continues with a slue of equally as impressive songs that are sure to draw attention & earn respect.

Overall Underground Famous is a strong album that is creative, refreshing, and deserving of undivided listening attention & heavy rotation in audio systems world wide. Fluent is extremely talented, and deserves complete recognition for his music & skills. This is mandatory listening."

Though some would say that the Misfits just aren't the Misfits without the fiendish Glenn Danzig fronting them, Famous Monsters seems to indicate otherwise. If you're expecting the new Misfits, with Michael Graves taking over for Danzig, to pick up where they left off when Danzig split to form his own band in the early '80s, you don't exactly get that either. The core of the band remains in tact, and consequently so does the Misfits' distinctive gothic punk-pop sound, but it has been beefed up with heavier, more metallic guitars and a booming production that makes old Misfits records sound positively primitive (which, of course, was part of their appeal). But the songs, those hypercatchy tales of twisted lunacy, are still as horror-fixated, infectious, and fun as ever. And though the Misfits' image--the ghoulish face paint and "devil's lock" haircuts--and gothic stage show first brought them notoriety, it's their Halloween-inspired anthems that remain their true calling card and Famous Monster has plenty to add to that legacy. --Adem Tepedelen

5 out of 5 stars Best Misfits Album Since 12 Hits From Hell.......2007-07-08

This is my third favorite Misfits album behind Static Age and 12 Hits From Hell. I'm glad I gave up the whole "dis aint da real Misfits" bullcrap, or else I would've never given this awesome album a chance.

Michale Graves is an excellent singer, every bit as good as Danzig, and maybe even better. Like American Psycho, these songs are heavy, fast, and fun. But the songs here, I think, are better and much catchier than the songs on American Psycho.
Yes, the Graves era sounds like a total different band, but they subject matter is still the same. The Misfits still wrote songs about horror movies and turned them into fun punk songs.
If you're looking for THE horror punk album of the 90's, you'll find it here.
The Misfits truly are Famous Monsters, and this shows it.

5 out of 5 stars This should not disappoint any punk or hard rock music fan!.......2007-07-05

I bought this album a few months ago after hearing it in a friends car and becoming hooked on the songs 'Dust to Dust' and 'Scream!'. After listening to its entirety a few dozen times, I cannot take it out of my own cd player. Now, I was not previously a fan of the misfits prior to the release of this album, so all the fuss about Danzig does not bother me. Keep in mind that I have been a fan of Danzig's solo career for the past few years.
The fact is that the vocals on this CD are amazing, it is filled with catchy guitar riffs and should please any punk or hard rock music fan.

2 out of 5 stars at least they are much better now..not as good as Danzig or modern misfits........2006-11-20

this to is the absolute worst era of the misfits. i mean sure, it has some great songs(scream, saturday night forbidden zone) and im not one of those "no Danzig, no misfits" nuts, but really...this is just really really cheesy and average minus those 3 songs...i understand if they use a little cheese here and there, but this is quesadilla territory....everything following pumpkinhead is disgusting. graves has an okay voice..i think he is either too overrated or too underrated...hes just average...drums are pretty good...and thankfully doyle has somewhat re-united with Danzig! the Misfits do have Dez Cadena playing with them today and im admittedly kind of excited for a new record put out by this line-up ive seen live twice, but the graves/chud era is a pretty bad one...his voice is too poppy sounding...this is one for the media player library.

5 out of 5 stars Michale Graves = amazing.......2006-11-09

I had never listened to the Misfits before I heard Michale Graves on the Roadrunner United album, on the track 'I Don't Wanna Be (A Superhero)'. I loved Graves's voice, it was melodic and really good. When I found out which Misfits albums he sang on, I went and picked them up, this being the first.
The first thing I noticed about this album was the production. For being a Roadrunner album, this disc has really poor production. But, as you listen to the songs you realize that the production actually adds to the flavor of the band. While I still wish the production was cleaner, it does make the record and the songs what they are.
'Forbidden Zone' is a great track, with a great chorus and really fun horror movie (if you'd call Planet of the Apes a horror) lyrics. It paints a picture in your mind of 'what if...?' What if the planet really did exist, etc.
'Dust to Dust' is another great track. It has a catchy as all hell chorus and really helps to solidify just how great of a vocalist Graves is.
Standout tracks include Forbidden Zone, Dust to Dust, Lost in Space, Helena, Pumpkinhead... hell, they're all good.
Pick this and American psycho up, whether you're a long time Misfits fan or not. Get over the fat that that egotistical jerk Danzig is gone, realize it was forthe better, and move on. Love Michale Graves for what he is.

5 out of 5 stars Who cares about Glen?.......2006-09-26

I don't care about Glen Danzig. To be honest, I never did back when he started the Misfits. I really think he was nothing more than "Boring". With his Jim Morrison tone voice singing the same childish choruses back and forth. Oh, man the Misfits were boring. Until Mike Graves came along and a buddy told me to listen to American Psycho. I was not bored at all. Thank u God, finally not the same wannabe hard boy singing from Mr. Danzig with the stupid idiotic message. I seen Danzig in concert and he personally stank the hell out of the music theater. Glen has no talent, he's very mad at himself so he has to take it out on the new Misfits and the world, plus he will never have a life since all he does is sits alone and worships satan.

5 out of 5 stars Terrific beats.......2001-05-31

I think this is a terrific CD It is as good as their first album, which I loved. If you liked their first, get this one before volume 2(which I liked as well)

5 out of 5 stars The best yet.......2001-01-05

I thought the junkies did their best with volume 2, i was definitly wrong. rhemattic and melo mix some of the illest beats ive ever heard, and all the people you could want to be ont his album are. buy it now son

5 out of 5 stars Felonious Beats!.......2000-01-20

They don't call these cats the Beat Junkies for nuthin. Tracks 2 through the rest of the album are some of the hardest beats I've heard in recent years. Do yourself a favor and crank up the bass when you pop in this CD to fully appreciate what Melo-D has done here.

If you're looking for lyrical acrobatics, you won't be very impressed. Most of these MCs sound like they're freestylin in the studio. The lone standout is Rasco who busts some truly hardcore battle rhymes over a high-powered track. But even if every track was an instrumental, this album would still be worth its weight in platinum.

Well I was reluctant to buy this CD solely because it has T-Nutty's name on it. After one quick listen mainly the songs Nutty rapped on, I was a little unimpressed. However, after careful listening of the whole cd it was better than I had expected. The beats were fresh. The lyrics were aiight, and all in all it's a good cd. Definately good enough to hold me over until "Nutt Factor" or the Nutt Facor Project comes out. Look out for those.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely Amazing.......2006-10-12

This is an amazing album. If you're into the underground hip hop scene, this is a must for your collection. With their amazingly talented, massively poetic lyrics and pulsating, electricfying beats, you can't help but constantly throw this disc on. You don't have to be into the scene to appreciate the art in this music. Your ears and mind will do the judging, concluding Living Legends in fact, as legends. This is one of, if not, the best album from these guys to date.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding!.......2006-04-25

This is One great great great Album! Hella ill beats, even better lyrics and raps. These guys know how to rap and they do it with more confidence than ive ever heard.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best from the Undaground........2006-01-20

Almost famous...an album the LL crew put together in 2001 is one of the best CD's of the underground rap scene. With funky beats and crazy emcees, this is a rap fans delight. These guys are the defintion of underground and they dont want to be in the limelight they just want to be heard in a legendary sort of way. Represent the Legends.

Top Trax:
#2 Night Prowler Feat. Slug, #8 What would I be, #11 War games, #12 Forces of Nature, and #16 Nothing Less Feat. Slug

5 out of 5 stars Classic release.......2005-02-08

All of the tracks on this album are excellent. The first track is nice because the members spit their battle verses. My favorite tracks on this album are Night Prowler, Black Glass, Osaka Tales, Forces of Nature, and Nothing Less. Not that the other tracks arent good, I just feel that people will still be singing those particular songs for years and years and years and years from now. Easily a hiphop classic album.

5 out of 5 stars LL!.......2004-10-29

I first heard this album when it came out back in '01 and it's still in rotation to this day. I love all the members of LL (especially Grouch, Murs, and Eligh) and their shows are awesome too.

    Album Description

In January, 2002, Peter Margasak, in his weekly column in the Chicago Reader, noted that "the post-Vandermark Chicago free-jazz scene" is "viewed the world over as a model of sustainable self-sufficiency and collaborative spirit". The article provided a look at the new "crop of unfamiliar names -- many of them younger musicians who've been drawn to Chicago in the past few years. It's still too soon to tell what the new generation might contribute as a whole, but recently some individual players have started to show serious promise. In contrast to their improv-oriented predecessors, the new guys are working toward a sound that's more introspective and composition based and draws on a wider range of jazz and nonjazz influences."

Document Chicago provides an audio update on these exciting new players, complete with liner notes by Margasak.

This cd will launch an ongoing series of releases from artists in this vibrant community. The first of these, from bassist Jason Roebke, is released alongside this compilation. Coming releases include Dave Rempis / Jason Roebke / Jim Baker / Tim Daisy, GreyGhost, The Exciting Trio and more.

My advice, get this album because Fluent is an emcee with undeniable skills. Can't wait for the next LP "inFLUENTial"!

      Album Description

The Unsound Series exists to make great home-recorded music available to the general public. Vol. 2: Guitars begins its journey on a familiar pure-pop road but eventually veers straight for the ditch. You can hear Beatles-style rock and roll, ukelele renditions of decades-old songs, despairing folk/country music and so much more... and it all works.
