    Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars JUST AS GOOD AS HIS EARLY ALBUMS.......2006-08-20

THIS IS STEADY BS LAST SOLO EFFORT,AND ALOT OFF PEOPLE SAY THAT ITS HIS LEAST BEST ALBUM,BUT I THINK ITS GREAT,IF YOU TRULY LIKE STEADY B AND COOL C,YOU WILL LOVE THIS ALBUM.

5 out of 5 stars Philly Is Fresh And You Know It.......2005-12-06

Steady B put Philadelphia on the map along with Cool C
    & DJ Jazzy Jeff.
Found out this year life changed for Him & Cool in 1996.
Truly an underground sensation in Boston.
The biggest tragedy in Classic HipHop History.

3 out of 5 stars One for the Philly collection..........1999-11-04

Steady B Five is a portrait of an artist at the crossroads of a career.

Warren McGlone's (Steady B) previous attempts to reach a broader rap audience didn't seem to succeed; arguably the best rap album of 88, "Let the Hustlers Play," with collaboration from KRS-One is one of my all time favorites, and a perfect example. Laced with metaphoric wisdom from the streets of Philadelphia, and surgeon like cuts form Terrence Thomas, (TAT-Money)Let the Hustlers Play is the artist at his peak; proud, hopeful, brazen; all the things we expect.

"Five" shows us a different side of Steady B, one who is more financially "aware" of the business of rap, and the business of the opposite sex. (Girls Gonna Getcha, Pay Me Baby) As he had done in the past with Cool C (Chris Roney)and Three Times Dope, this album marks Warren's attempt to put another rapper "on," with rhymes from Mentally Gifted on "You Don't Stop."

Best tracks: 6. Keeper Of The Funk 10. License To Kill 8. Uza Flea 13. I Ain't Going Nowhere 2. The Warpath

If you are a fan of the "game," and consider your self a "head," "Steady B Five" (SILVERTONE 1428) is still one for your Philly collection, along with "Going Steady" (Jive 1284-2-J)and "What's My Name?."

1 out of 5 stars An attempt at crossing over.......1999-10-04

Steady B, one of the greatest emcees hailing out of Philly, attempts to gain mass appeal by watering down his raw skill and Philadelphia style of deliverance. Although he is currently behind bars for being a part of Philadelphia's first African American policewomen murder, his music prior to his attempts to crossover will forever have its place in Philadelphia hip hop history.
