Doctor L, who is he, where does he come from? These questions can be brushed aside when you realise the sheer brilliance that he displays in this work. The title of the album speaks for itself. Doctor L makes music for musicians. While the album is approachable to all, those involved in the music industry will no doubt appreciate the exquisite detail. Doctor L. layers samples twice as thick as any other. His beats are a cut above the rest, using minamalism to evoke strong grooves. He uses vocal samples and riffs that are totally fresh and he is obviously a master in the studio environment. If you like quality music, this has to be in your collection. Doctor L is a great example of what is wrong with the music industry - talented musicians rarely get heard.
