One of the most amazing CD's you'll ever buy!.......2001-07-20

Ever heard of Paul Van Dyk? How about Armin Van Buuren? What about John '00' Fleming? Then you are already familiar with Trance Style. This is not your usual "thump thump thump" deep house - this is way better. We're talking a real primer to beginners (to get them hooked) and we're talking absolutely mind blowing experience to those who have been listening to the Trance for a while. This is full of your "anthem" sound as well as unreal melody. This is very energetic, melodic music with wonderfully blended tracks to keep you playing this CD over and over and over again! I can't sing enough praises to this one... Simply put - this CD makes me want to learn how to play, mix, spin and jump at the same time! BUY IT - YOU'LL LOVE EVERY SECOND OF IT! =)

Album Description

Tired of This Exile is a part of the rich harvest from James Faulkner's musical wanderings along and across the frontiers of Europe and North America. It features songs from his youth in the north of England, Gaelic songs from his lengthy sojourns in the west of Scotland and Ireland, and French-language songs picked up as a graduate student in Quebec.

Tired of this Exile is a truly international effort. Recorded in Switzerland, its appearance in the United States is due to a lucky meeting between James and Bedlam House's Bill Sutton during an Irish seisíun in a pub in Grenoble.

Unabashedly poetic from wistful memory to conditional commentary, Tired of This Exile reflects the unique perspective of an international wanderer. Traditional and modern folk songs are combined with original works in a compilation that changes languages as smoothly as it changes moods.

Not Tired of This Disc.......2005-03-09

I'm generally not a big fan of folk music but this CD is really very good. I bought it on a recommendation of a friend and the first time I listened to it, The Great Train Robbery really struck me as a catchy modern ballad. As I listened more carefully I was drawn to the nuances of the instrumentation on the more traditional music which fuses a wide range of songs with imaginative accompanyment, strong guitar and passionate singing. I'd never hear of this guy before but I hope to hear more soon.

I'm sitting at my desk, facing my computer.

Feel like a fish, surrounded by these windows.

Can see the tops of some green leafy trees.
Would even hear the singings of the small birds outside, if there weren't these windows.

The aquarium is even too big for me, too white, too light, much too urban. Too Parisian.

I'm not tired of my exile yet.
Want to go on travelling the world, fly away. But fishes commonly have no wings.
And I stay here inside my aquarium. Comfortably fed by their well-meaning hands.
