Album Description
Girl Talk's second album."Unstoppable, for all its sweaty beats and sexy grooves, paints a picture of Gillis that's just as much mad scientist as oversexed party animal. Gillis' manic experiments bring life to inanimate rhythms and swap the personalities of unwitting samples in harebrained schemes to make bottoms shake and fists pump." -DUSTED

Don't stop at Night Ripper and don't be intimidated by Secret Diary........2007-07-11
I'm a huge Girl Talk fan and own everything he has put out. This record is my favorite. It is glitchier than Night Ripper and far poppier than Secret Diary. If you like Night Ripper, it is a pretty safe bet you will like this.

Customer Reviews:
Great tempo.......2007-03-20
The music keeps a great tempo and it motivates me to move faster. I thought there would be motivational talking in it, but there wasn't (don't know if that's good or bad). The music didn't have original artists, but the music was recognizable and fun, and I really like it.
One of the best workout mixes ever!.......2006-05-25
This CD is one of the best workout music CD's around. Of course what would you expect with the renowned fitness expert, Kathy Smith?

BEST title ever!!!.......2005-04-08
I bought the lp when it first came out. It has never grown old. I haven't bought a cd of it. I think that you should if you haven't bought one already -- you'll like it!
The Power Spot Of Sound.......2004-06-06
This is, simply, one of Jon Hassell's GREAT albums! Totally unique...ultra sophisticated...deeply primitive...complex in the way that usually only Classical music is. In fact, when this first came out on vinyl...that's where I had to go to find it! Yes, the Classical section at my local Tower Records! Of course, back then, no one seemed quite clear just where Hassell belonged...rock, jazz, new age, classical, world??? Probably ALL of these are true, but it did make locating his latest album difficult at times. And this illustrates the remarkable combination of sounds and rhythms that all of Hassell's work contains. To over-simplify, take those raw African or Malay drums and pair them with *the* most digitally-altered trumpet textures you will probably ever hear. Now, take that and add a live performance group where every member is equally intelligent and unique. That's what you have on this CD. The composition works perfectly. And it *really* is different *every* time you hear it. Truly GREAT music. Don't miss this one.
Transmissions from the Atmosphere.......2001-12-21
He does seem to be receiving messages from the ether here and laying them out for the audience ...
In its time quite an original and outstanding album. Nowadays, music like this ("Ambient") has become a formula and disseminated by countless artists ... still, perhaps Hassell's original conception here can still move a new listener. You'll have to tell me. The first track is particularly "accessible" as it contains a repeating bassline which is quite nice.
Transporting........2000-12-15
Rich, lovely, and fiercly original music that tells stories of vaguely familiar worlds, but from such a skewed perspective that one often finally discovers wonderful things that have always been there, but to that point, unseen. And Hassel's generous expression of these things reveals beauty that often wouldn't be recognized as such. My good friend calls the music "broken" (not as a compliment). And it is in a way a celebration of the beauty of many things; some of which are, in fact, broken.
peaceful.......2000-09-16
seems mellow peaceful and contemplative as if he realizes there is pain in the world and wishes to play to you a song that does not forget that people are hurting or that he can find beauty in the world i think that if you like listening to the cars go by at night in a light rain or like to sit by the ocean and listen to the surf with the stars above and the lights of a distant city on the horizon that you might like this, if you are reading this jon, thank you for your work.

Snap World Power... Don't Believe the Hype.......2005-08-07
Only 1 track out of 8 is worthwhile. Which is "The Power". The other songs were a waste of time. I got caught up in the hype
back in 1990. Finally clearing out my old collection & selling it
on Ebay in 2005. Thank goodness for MP3.

Like the crack of a whip they SNAP attack !.......2000-07-29
One of the best techno house dance music groups of all times,SNAP is revolutionary in all aspects.Anzilotti & Munzing have been on this road called success for over 10 years. That I know it all started when both formed a house music group called 16 BIT ,who generated a hit called HI SCORE (it's TUBULAR !).This track is full of ATARI bleeps, powerful vocals,Japanese like chants ( a sample of this is found on EXTERMINATE(DG MIX),which is available on SNAP!ATTACK - the (brilliant) REMIXES) .Then,a year later or so they introduced SNAP to the world. And the world would never be the same. All nations, discos, radio stations,DJs and MTV(I don't like it at all) discovered the POWER of SNAP!All the tracks here became great hits, except the last one, which is also a must.Rapper Turbo B is as good as Chuck D of Public Enemy(of course,he pays homage to him all the time.Chuck D and Turbo B are the best)and the mesmerizing, hypnotic beats, dazzling vocals and instrumental/DJ work are simply among the best in DANCE MUSIC.Every decent dance music compilation features at least one SNAP masterpiece (generally THE POWER or RHYTHM IS A DANCER).If you still don't know the POWER of SNAP start listening to this, and then after becoming addicted to SNAP,enjoy the other SNAP ALBUMS and gorgeous REMIXES.
You don't know what you are missing!!!.......1999-03-01
I can't believe no one has anything to say about this album. I got it when it came out, it looks like it now has a different cover. It is a powerful debut album, with something for everyone. It blends rap, rock, dance, r&b in a way no one had done before. I hate rap, and I love this album. It is not full of the twisted hate issues of rap, it is not the teeny bopper themes of so much rock, it is the soul searching (with some fun and self-humor thrown in) that only people like The The, Haddaway, Sylvester, Laurie Anderson, and Peter Gabriel (who tends to be more morose), David Byrne, Brian Ferry, Eurythmics, and Anne Clark can do. (Ok, there's others). They all have their own styles, and Snap! has theirs. If you appreciate the artists for what they say as much as the music they put out, you need to have this album!

Album Description
SNAP! have become a true `hit machine' and amassed countless awards in the process. After The Power, Anzilotti and Muenzing released further mega-sellers such as Ooops Up, Cult of SNAP! and Mary Had a Little Boy on their label Logic Records, all of which soared to the top places in the European charts. Music for the dancefloor is normally regarded as an ephemeral, transient commodity: here today, gone tomorrow. Something that the Frankfurt-based producer team Matthias Muenzing and Luca Anzilotti, better known as Snap!, have now been disproving for over 13 years.
The debut album World Power (originally released in 1990) counts as one of the most successful dance albums worldwide with well over seven million LPs sold. The mega hit, The Power, has long become one of the most played music tracks in the world and has made musical history.
Album Description
2004 reissue of the male/female dance duo's 1993 album features 10 tracks including Snap's biggest hit, 'The Power' (Original Mix & Jungle Fever Mix), as well as 'Oops Up' (a remake/take off of the Gap Band's nonsensical funk riff 'Oops Upside Your Head'). SPV.
Customer Reviews:
A Blueprint of Dance Music.......2005-04-25
Snap brought a new sound on the dancefloors at the end of the 80's. "The Power" introduced Turbo B. as a rapper and a frontman of this project, the music was made by Anzilotti & Muenzing - the producers that signed their work as Benito Benites and John "Virgo" Garrett III and mostly stood in the background, out of the public's attention, producing in their studio. "The Power" was build around the tiny drum-loop taken from Mantronix's "King Of The Beats" and then Turbo B and Penny Ford's vocals were added. Turbo B with his ferocious style and powerful voice established himself as a dominant force in Snap's albums and live acts. "The Power" track had everything to become a dancefloor hit: a funky beat, Turbo B's raps, Penny Ford's strong voice and a great melody. Their next single "Ooops Up" is also a very interesting track formed on a vocal hook "Say Ooops Upside Your Head" taken from the funky-disco classic by The GAP Band, but what really got me into it is the beat - hard kick drums and the hi-hats taken from Eric B. & Rakim's "Paid In Full" - as well as Turbo B's story based on the mistakes. "Cult Of Snap" has 4-to-the-floor beat and dominating brass adding the oriental touch while "Mary Has A Little Boy" is a more subtle piano-(Hip)-house track. "Believe The Hype" refers to "Don't Believe The Hype" by Public Enemy and has a dark bassline which fits perfectly to the chunky beat and cowbells similar to the ones in "The Power". "I'm Gonna Get You (To Whom It May Concern)" is a nice pop-ballad, while "Witness The Strength" and "Blase Blase" step into the Old Skool Rap arena, the latter even containing famous James Brown "Funky President" break, then very much used in the Rap music, combined with 808 sound. "Only Human" means Only Human BeatBox, Turbo B's making beats and the "Planet Rock"/"Trans Europe Express" melody eventually breaks in - this is the stuff that Turbo B become known by in the 80's, he was doing beatbox performances for the Fat Boys. "The Power (Jungle Fever Mix)" is a nice eerie remix, where Turbo B's busting the additional verse that's not included in the original.
The style Snap presented on this album, a style that is very similar to C+C Music Factory, was very much accepted by the artists like BG The Prince Of Rap and Black Man's Wagon - it was Euro-Dance but based on hip-hop beats (breakbeats), had longer rap verses and strong female vocals in hooks, and powerful melodies. The style became massive in early 90's with Hip-House and Piano-House until around 1992 when it all became Euro-Dance, with influences from Trance and Techno/rave music.

Great.......2007-02-09
Jon Hassell if I am not wrong was highly influenced by Miles Davis and plays the muted trumpet like him. However he was also a collaborator of Brian Eno and you can really get the feeling of these influences on this spectacular record. An ambient classic!
Behold, one of the original masters!.......2005-12-25
If one were ahead of the pack and twenty years later the pack had caught up and stomped all over one's then newly demarked turf, is one to blame and to be scorned as cliched by "today's standards"? Certainly not.
The problem is, sometimes it happens. Hassell, Riley, Reich et al are usually in this situation. Now that their studies of non-Western music have been exploited and rampantly overused by anyone from hip-hoppers to electronica artist as well as avant-garders, their legacy is muddled by nay-sayers and not very knowledgeable folks. A shame indeed.
Hence, the music of Hassel in Power Spot and Fourth World Music is what the latter day acolytes should be measured against, not viceversa.
That said, the music itself is a thrill to experience for the first time (and well beyond). Its use of microtonics, polyrhythms, etc puts to shame many a contemporary ripper-off, setting a standard that still has to be upped. Pure class!
Today's Standards, Today's Schmanders.......2003-04-30
Timeless, sublime, beautiful, otherworldly. Forget most of today's derivitive, mixing hip hop, copy cat, [stuff]. This is the real thing. Hassell was there on Terry Riley's original "In C" recording that changed music for all time. He's the first trumpeter with a new sound since Miles. He's deep into it, micro rhythms, polyphony, microtones, electronics everything. THERE IS NO ONE ELSE LIKE HIM. And this is arguably one of the best. Those who think Eno and his ilk invented alternative music should do a little more research, and find out who the real progenitors are.
boring/cliched............2002-03-21
I loved Eno ,hassell et al when I was growing up,and they introduced me to an invaluable wealth of other styles of music....The thing is, most of those music forms are very easily available now (eg heavy dub, indonesian flute/gamelan,indian classical, armenain duduk, arabic chant, arabic strings/percussion etc etc...) so in a way, Eno et al have made thyemselves redundant...this cd sounded AMAZING back in the 80's...now? It sounds like a corny cliche,"arabian nights" corny arabic melodies, sticky dub bass lines mixed up with Gamelan weaving patterns....
This is not a diss of eno et al....they TOTALLY CHANGED my musical landscape in the 80"s and i believe many many others too...(Adrian Sherwood of ONU dub sound, Hank "Schocklee" of Public Enemy...the list of thier praisers is ENDLESS, so PROFOUND was thier influence....) but, choose carefully when buying in the year 2002...I think "Possible Music" and "bush of ghosts" still sound fresh....This disc? Powerful in 1980"s, now? A dull cliche...
Not very innovative.......2001-05-21
I'm no sure of the original release date, but it sure sounds like 1980's style avantgarde stuff. Most of the sounds and "melodies" are virtualy cliche by today's standards. If you like Eno's "music for airports" this album will probably bore you and you'd be better off with other Hassel albums or Harold Bud.

a work of genius .......2006-01-24
hands down one of the best albums ever. as a long time fan of Mark Royal stuff I was a little put off my first time through the album but it has since become a mainstay of my music collection. a work of genius by a genius worker.
mediocrity from a near genius.......2000-03-02
this album was created during the artist's period of heavy acid abuse, he said so himself, and unfortunately it gets in the way of his genius. this album is way dark, just listening to it will make you want to cut off all contact with the populous and join a cult. so be careful! i'm serious, there's a disclamer on the cd cover that protects the record company from litigation from upset friends and family of the listener. this album is an interesting side note if you are a fan of T power but it is not for the faint of heart. for a better idea of his talent, check out his album and LPs out on S.O.U.R. records or, if you can find them, the LPs in the 1998 Alphabet collection labeled "C" and "D"
T power of power.......2000-01-12
What more can you say? T power is the pioneer, the standard setter, the man, T power is the man. Waveform is a WAY psycho trip into the world of organic jungle and blotter nonsense.

Album Description
Power Up! is like nothing you've ever experienced before. An elite team of fearless musicians have paid tribute to the trend-setting music of the Nintendo Entertainment System. They're taking you to a world where few have dared to tread, but they ain't gonna be holding your hand. This musical adventure ain't for the weak. Cheat codes and a second-rate genie can't help you. Super-sized joysticks won't be an advantage here. Only the truly daring will be willing to face the challenges held within. It's up to you to face them head-on. Can you live without your Power Up!? Are you game?
