5 out of 5 stars Oliver Ho-- It's TECHNO TECHNO TECHNO!.......2002-12-10

House music wishes it were this deep, hard, and stimulating. I guess I'm being very critical because I'm in the U.S. (and far from Detroit, Chicago or New York), where techno always gets trampled on by the more commercially-successful house snobs.

First, about me: I have about 70% of Oliver Ho's 12" and albums since his 1996 debut Blueprint #2. Oliver Ho's music is really like from another world. Of all his albums I've heard, Listen to the Voices Inside is probably his most groundbreaking result-- in ideas, and in refinement of his sound so it's more accustomed to even other techno. He always crafted wicked tribal techno beats with psychosis-numbing rhythms quite sincerely. And in some tracks, he's even thrown in sampled human voices to pump up the momentum... But with this album he's never done it more right. It's 2002, and more Ho records later, he's been building his current sound on this one particular album. He continues the tradition of pumping hard hitting 909 triballish beats below clouds of hallucinogenic grooves to affect the mind. This genre of music always has been very spiritual, which unfortunately has been rarely recognized by people, even techno producers. But Oliver Ho must understand it, and I believe, he's been a good preacher so far.

Given to the right deejay, this album can be a powerful weapon.

Of the current generation of techno (mid-90's til now), Oliver Ho is one of the very few artists who can sit nearby Jeff Mills -- his idol, and the one most recognized as inventing this repitious hard techno style and tribalish techno that has even influenced the clubby dj market today -- in originality, consistency, and all-around mayhem and excitement.

Buy this album, or wait until the next messiah.

He's made a pure hard house record once again. Not much to say in fact, he keeps is deep sound style again. One of his great works. And u can see it from the sales rank too :)
