Don't Be Fooled By the Title: This Mix is Hot!.......2002-08-02

Thumping, drum-heavy, hard-hitting house dominates this 75-minute CD, mixed by Portugal's DJ Vibe and brought to us by those ever-trusty folks at Twisted. There's hardly a note of filler, and the mixing is smooth and seamless. The disc bounces from house to some tribal, and the listner is hooked from the first beat. Favorite cuts of choice are the head-bobbing "Burnin' Up," "Some Kind of Love," and the energetic Club 69 remixes of "Body" by Funky Green Dogs and "Muscles." This single CD packs as much punch and flava as the other double-disc releases out there. "Twist This..." should be a no-brainer of a purchase for the dance music lover.

Straight out of Portugal, DJ Vibe bounces!.......2001-06-01

Once again, the folks at Twisted America have not failed to impress me with their unique brand of house music. I can't say enough good things about this label and I'll be reviewing many more must-have cds from this people at Twisted.

This cd has the euro feel that so many of the Twisted America cds have. The house music although very deep has more synthesizer than the norm, giving the house a very synthetic, trance sound. This is like trance without the million bpm, which is right up my ally. There isn't much bassline to speak of in this cd but the electronic instrumentation more than fills the open space. The mixing is excellent along with the music selection. Nothing out of place here, and everything flows along smoothly. Cuts of choice are "El Ritmo", "Are You Looking For Me?", "Sunrise", and "Latin Blues Pt 1." This tone and texture of this cd reminds me a lot of the "House Music: Dusk Till Dawn" cd (Nervous Records). Without a doubt this cd will fit nicely on my HousERaT five star list. This is an excellent addition to any house music collection and for you trance heads out there this might be a nice change of pace also.

Portuguese House Music.......2000-10-02

Dj Vibe has got to be the best example of the portuguese underground house scene. Being a resident at the club I mostly go to, I have seen Dj Vibe live many times. Even though a recording isn't as overwhelming as a live performance, this CD is an excellent example of Dj Vibe at his best. If you dig Hard House with a bit of Tribal, you should not miss out on this CD.

Extravaganza.......2000-05-16

I love anything from Twisted Records. Although dj Vibe is up and coming, this cd gave some elements of Tribal with Techno. It takes a clever dj to successfully marry the two successfully. I have Danny T, Junior, Peter, and David Morales and glad to add this to my collection.

This is excellent for House novices who want a taste of the Sound Factory.

great mix CD.......2000-03-23

This mix is a good combination of House music with very strong bass elements of techno and club rhythms. The bass lines are great for the car. The mixing of techno in house music are great although the first 2 tracks are really one long blended track. All in all, a great CD.
