I Love Miami, Too!.......2007-03-27

I just purchased this CD. I also own Rauhofer's "I Love New York." "I Love Miami" is incredibly wonderful! I was drawn to the second CD (it's a 2-CD pack) more than the first, but don't misunderstand, I also liked the first CD. "We Play House" and "Discoteka" really can get you up and moving and the rest of the side is a constant! A couple of the cuts on the first CD brought the pace down (just a bit, though), but all in all, this is a GREAT CD!

Again, I wish Amazon.com would consider half-star ratings because I would have stuck another half-star on the end of my rating. This CD is not perfect--but damn near close! Have yourself a listen and a good time!

This is the quintessential Rauhofer club experience. Close your eyes and it is instantly 5am on the Roxy floor, and you are surrounded by sweaty, half naked bodies moving as one in ecstasy. This cd is packed with sexy beats. This cd is f*cking your ears and body from start to finish.

Deep, tribal, dark...........2006-12-05

Peter hit the nail on the head with this one when going for that Miami feel. Is it Oscar G at Space? Not quite, but it is absolutely fan-f*cking-tastic all the same. It is pulsing and tribal and it is those luscious, pounding drums that we all love from beginning to end. You cannot do wrong by picking this one up. Get it now.

This is truly his best cd ever, LIVE @ ROXY 3 is 2nd. Everything he does is the best. but damn,all 22 tracks!

This compilation is HOT. It took me a couple of spins to really get into it, but I'm completely hooked now. If you like sexy, tribal beats - this one's for you!!

Some great mixes here.......2007-02-07

First CD has Offer's first mixes featuring Maya Simantov. Still i like some of them especially Rain, Summer Night City and First Time. All tracks are standalone tracks as mentioned. No pause on CD1 after each track and the last track from CD2 has no pause at the end from what i remember ^^ Few words about the CD2. Overall a great buy IF you haven't bought Star 69 CD-singles like First Time, Perfect Love, That's The Way I Like It.

1. Perfect Love (Full Vocal Mix) great mix - a bit too loud, better than his Perect Club Mix - it's also on his CD-single, very good mix, over 9 minutes *****
2. On My Own (Original Mix) a good mix, is as a bonus track on First Time CDS if i'm not mistaken, over 9 minutes ****
3. Be My Boyfriend (Original Mix) a wonderful mix, also a bit louder from others, on Perfect Love CDS *****
4. That's The Way I like It (Peter Rauhofer Reconstruction Mix) it's even better than Offer's mix, was on the That's The Way I like It CDS *****
5. Alone (Offer Nissim Reconstruction Mix) too loud! not so special, a bit dramatic just like the original mix, 8:26 ***
6. Rain (Yinon Yahel Mix) too loud also! but the mix is good, almost as good as Offer's, almost 8:06 ****
7. First Time (Jose Spinnin' Cortez Mix) a decent mix, i favour the Original though, also on First Time CDS ***
8. Anything (Offer Nissim Reconstruction Mix) now that is the ONLY reason i bought these CD's, ONLY for this track!!!!! a GREAT GREAT GREAT mix, not dramatic but DARK, also known as Sinai Tribal Mix on Offer Nissim - First Time CD released in Israel!!! It was not on US release. LOVE it very much. Buy the CD's only for THIS mix. 8:02 ******

After seeing all the hype reviews I was drawn to purchase this cd. Personally I did not like it. Only a few tracks caught my attention. Maybe it is just me.

An Offer You Can't Refuse.......2006-10-17

I discovered this group by accident and have loved everything I've heard them do. Those of you who are not familiar with this group, I don't think you'd be disappointed if you went ahead and bought this CD--especially because of the price. It's a 2-CD packages and I liked all the songs; therefore, it's really hard for me to pick the best. Good quality sound, mixing, and vocals--you just are hard pressed to beat that in today's dance music.

Offer Nissim knows how to keep your body moving all the while by offering pure entertainment. I got to hear some cuts that I'd not heard before and I was not disappointed in anything.

Offer Nissim makes you an offer for good dance music that you just can't refuse!

Genius.......2006-10-01

I had the pleasure of seeing Nissim live in Montreal not long ago. I have been to many parties, but this was one of the few times I felt I was in the presence of genius. Mind-bendingly good, and this album is the same. He seems to be able to bring extra layers to tracks that move them from good to jaw-dropping. Complex, sexy and infinitely danceable.

Bought Lawler's Viva and Back 2 Back at the same time, but it's Chus & Ceballos that I keep reaching for. Why? Because it's exactly what you want to hear from a solid tribal house set. These guys are absolutely fun and capture the feeling of a great club experience.

Peter is my fav DJ/Producer, and I'm on a mission to have a complete *69 label collection, but I would recommend a previous Roxy disc if you can't buy them all.

Cheeseballs.......2005-08-15

Disc 1 - cheese, cheese and more cheese. Cheesey synths and fluffy basslines. Weak disc.

Disc 2 - some good tracks on this disc. Has more of a big room sound and a nice progression from track 1-13.

Rauhofer FINALLY finally fixes this series..........2005-08-12

Track 1 is a good sign of things to come on volume 4. It is a surprise to find rauhofer starting with something so strong for a change. Although disc 1 is short on vocals to brake up the monotony of the instrumentals (track 4 is a standout), the song selection is surprisingly energetic, considering all his other volumes have been sleep inducing. The real reason to get this disc is for unreleased tracks like the Rauhofer mix of Madonna (nearly 10 minutes long) and the Rauhofer mix of David Morales on disc 2, which also features a handful of strong vocal tracks. This second disc is by far offers the closest thing to a peak hour feel at the Roxy of all the discs on all 4 volumes. Track times are:

Discoteka is by far one of the hottest tracks of 2006. Nick Terranova delivered a pure club hit with some really sick remixes. I especially dig Peter Rahoufer's remix. Highly recommended track for all club heads and electronic music fans!:)

GREAT collection of remixes.......2007-02-07

First thing that came to my mind after hearing teh tracks is that they are TOO LOUD - just check them in some WAV editor. Not as loud as Benny Benassi tracks but still TOO LOUD. Not much vocals in them and the same vocals are repeated on and on - it may get boring. Tracks are very underground and for sure NOT mainstream. All i'd call ELECTRO but Cajjmere Wray Mix is TRIBAL. I bought the CDS after hearing the samples on Beatport. It was cheaper that way. I kept only 4 mixes on my HD so i'll post only 4 track times. Now few words about the tracks:
1. Original Mix - VERY electro. Not my fav. 8:14 ***
2. Kobbe & Austin Leeds Mix - more Tribal/Progressive House than Electro - proabably the most popular mix. Very good. 8:42 ****
3. DJ Bruno Mix - Electro. NOTHING special **
4. Dany Wild Mix - my fav mix!!! VERY electro, great sound!!! 7:28 ******
5. Cajjmere Wray Mix - TRIBAL all the way. Sounds louder than others... The worst mix for me **
6. Frosted Flake Mix - this mix is a GEM!!! My second FAV after Dany Wild Mix!!! Very long - i had to shorten the ending... VERY electro, very DARK and very UNDERGROUND sound. I love the beginning!!! Like sth bad or evil was coming out. Now you must hear it (that's what comes to my mind ^^). 10:40, no pause at the end (you may want to shorten the ending though) *****

YOU MUST BUY IT.

Peter's Electro Side.......2006-04-28

Well i read the previous review so it's time for my opinion. This compilation is not LIVE as you may see on the description which is GOOD. It's Tribal, Electro, Hard, Dark. Just what i'd expect from Peter. Tracks are very underground and don't have much vocals and not everybody will like that. If you need vocals you should buy some mainstream artists cd's/mixes.

CD1
1. Killing Me - i'd say hard tribal sound - not bad 5/10
2. Hoes In This House - yes this track is boring - same vocals all the time - 2/10
3. New Love - good tribal sound - 7/10
4. Sixteen Years - nice vocals - i like the tribal beats too 8/10
5. I Like Old School - decent slow instrumental - 5/10
6. 8 Letters - nice a bit tribal a bit electro track - 8/10
7. I Remember (Groovy Mix) - great dark tribal track with male vocals - 10/10
8. Julian Poker Reconstruction - great dark tribal track again! - 10/10
9. Love Is A Drug - tribal and bit electro track with male vocals - i like - a bit trancy - 9/10
10. Tanque Beats - tribal beats only - boring a bit - a filler for sure - 4/10
11. Free Your Body - i totally love this track! it's fast and tribal with male vocals - if you like other decibel mixes you should love this one also - my fav track from the whole compilation! - 10/10!!!
12. This Is The Sound - terrible track - tribal and hard but like people say it goes nowhere - boring! - such a bad track after a great Decibel track - brings me down... - 2/10

1. I Look Good - great start of the CD! very HARD and very TRIBAL - best track on the second CD to me! I totally love it - 10/10
2. People - hard tribal electro sound - i don't like it at all - 2/10
3. Sex Secret - great mix by peter - tribal electro sound with female vocals - you can buy a cds for this mix - great sound - 9/10
4. I Can't Explain - this mix is tribal electro sound i'd say - i favour the original mix - is not trancy at all believe me - 5/10
5. Sunday Trip - instrumental electro sounds - 5/10
6. First Time - Hector Fonseca Mix is shit like all the mixes of this track - there is ONLY 1 good mix of this track and it's the original Offer Nissim Mix - 1/10
7. Easy Ride - cool electro track a bit tribal - 5/10
8. Beta Boy - great electro track - 8/10
9. Love You Some More - nice electro peter sound hehe - tribal a bit but has a great dark parts that i love - you can buy a cds for this too - 9/10

12. Believe In Me - terrible track to end the whole compilation... tribal... same sound as on Depeche Mode - What Happens Tomorrow (Peter Rauhofer Reconstruction Mix) - i do like that mix but this one i don't! - 2/10

Excellent. Sounds more like a real night out at a club than any of Peter's previous compilations.

Not to say there aren't some good dance tracks on here, they just aren't living up to today's standards. I think it's at the point where I need to stop buying mix CDs buy some of my favorite New York City DJs. These guys, including Rauhofer, Vasquez, etc...broke new ground back in the 90s with their progressive house music and mixes...but at this point, there's nothing "progressive" about it because it still sounds the same as it did nearly ten years ago! It's all blending into one big mish mosh of indistinguishable beats! This is the new millennium, and I really wish these guys would fine tune their sound to keep up with it. There's so much different stuff going on at this point. Just take a look at this track listing and you'll see proof that times have changed-there are NO major named artists on this CD featuring exclusive Rauhofer mixes, plus, we're even being given recycled tracks by Club 69, Cevin Fisher, etc.

If you like instrumental tribal still, you'll probably feel this groove. Vocal lovers avoid, because there are few vocals on here.

Absolutely Fantastic!.......2007-01-31

This CD captured the purest essences of the music that electrified dance clubs during the summer and early autumn of 2006. Discoteka, Bodyshaker, Sex Secret, and Ohh La La were all dance floor favorites throughout the year -- and Discoteka was an absolute blockbuster.

Peter Rauhofer, one of the creative forces behind *69 (and Club 69) imparts his style and rhythms on Starkillers' Discoteka and Goldfrapp's Ooh La La (which was previously remixed by both Benny Benassi and Tiefschwarz with very little fanfare or airplay for that matter) in such stark contrast to his remixer/producer peers that these tracks couldn't help but become blockbuster hits.

Then there are charts like like 2raumwohnung's Sex Secret that has a very eery beginning but resolves to a catchy, playful melodic vocal piece. Who ever heard of 2raumwohnung and who knows what that means? All I know is that with Rauhofer's remixing... it sounds HOT!

And of course, who could forget Donna Summer's Power of Love... every time I spin this track, I offer people $5 if they can tell me who the artist is. I haven't spent a single five bill yet... DONNA SUMMER SOUNDS SO FABULOUS IN THIS TRACK. I know it's just a dub... but there are times where teasing with the essence of the vocal while carefully layering clear but complex rhythms (like Rauhofer does in his Power of Dub Mix here) does so much more for the energy of the track (and your dance floor) than just playing the full vocal mix ever could. I was never a fan of dubs until I became a DJ... this is a perfect example of how a dub should be, well... dubbed!

So in short, not that my last diatribe was short at all -- this is a fantastic CD. Buy it and hide it from your friends... because they'll want to snatch it from you the minute they hear it!

Worth it for Donna Summer---but it's only a dub!.......2006-09-19

Much like the "Divas to the Dancefloor" series, this compilation, which is predominantly tribal and electro house mixes, is not a "mixed" CD. However, while these are all full length mixes, they also don't end clean, because each track is attached to the track before and after it, sometimes with a hint of overlap. Not really anything to get bent out of shape over though, especially when you have an official release of a rare Donna Summer remix. Tragically, Rauhofer's mix is NOT full vocal, predominantly just repetition of the chorus from this song off the Luther Vandross tribute CD. So, with a really lame Hani mix as a promo 12", and now this dub, the song still hasn't been given a standout full vocal mix. But still a necessity for collectors. Meanwhile, many of the other tracks on here had official CD single releases, so it really isn't filled with many rareties, although the Rauhofer mix of Goldfrapp is another rarety that is a good one for collectors. dont even bother listening to disc 1, only disc 2 .......2006-01-06

Well when I put disc 1 in I was completely bored with the entire thing I found myself spacing out there really wasnt anything happenening no direction nothing it pretty much sucked and bored me. Only two exceptions was "fat dope sh*t" which was funny at first but was too long and drawn out and tweekin only because ive heard them before but the rest of disc 1 was lame so you might as well use it for a frisbee or a fun hat haha.

As for disc 2 it completely blew me the hell away from the start "enchantments" immediatly grabbed my attention and it was rrrreal dark and dirty. The indian vide was definatly apparent with the chanting and citars. From then on I was intoxicated, the cd had me in its grasp. Perfect flawless mixing into "Grassinimoto" which again kicked crazy ass every song on disc 2 was a friggin banger which I wouldve bought on its own the cd gets 4 stars because disc 1 was so stupid.

a five star rating from me but this CD is absolutely an instant classic. As someone mentioned, if you ever see a disc authored by these guys (alone or together) just buy it and don't ask questions...you wont be disappointed.

Ive had Addictive Beats for a long time now but I never wrote a review on here. Well lemme start the review by saying "WOW".
From disc 1 to disc 2, this compilation is bangin'! It goes from funky/tribal to dark, dirty, percussive tribal house..VERY well put together...I highly recommend this cd to EVERYONE! :)

I can see where Deep Dish might get a mention as an influence, but come on, what has Deep Dish been doing lately except rehashing their own sound? Apart from a few lemons - I know, what am I talking about? - this mix is wicked, the kind that drives me wild and the only kind that sticks around. I especially like the combination of funk and tribal. I used to think that all dance music could sound good with the proper amount of naughty percussion ... that is until I spent a few times listening to Tribal all night and went home feeling ill. To avoid drowning in its own recipe Tribal still requires mixing with other progressive elements. These guys have done a nice job of doing just that.
