Where the heck is Sniff n' The Tears' "Driver's Seat" in this soundtrack. It plays at a definite changing point in the movie where Floyd comes to tell Jack that he needs to switch to video instead of film. It's a travesty that this song wasn't included. But a good soundtrack nonetheless

In 1997, writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson boldly went where few other filmmakers have dared--America's multibillion-dollar pornography industry--and produced a clear-eyed portrait of '70s and '80s American cultural mores as lived out by an extened family of adult filmmakers and stars. Boogie Nights got me addicted to the song "Fooled around and Fell in Love". I always wondered why it wasn't on the soundtrack, also glad to see drivers seat, I can picture every scene in the movie when I hear these songs!!!

Boogie Nights let us know that we really loved the 70's and that we really ARE nostalgic for the music from the period - ALL THE MUSIC!

This second CD from the film soundtrack effectively provides us with more memories from not only the film, but from the era.

Apollo 100's Joy is a favorite as is Three Dog Night's Mama Told Me Not to Come.

Thought neither CD (CD 1 nor this one) contains Andrew Gold's Lonely Boy, which I really felt was emotionally a direct hit - so that's a bad thing.

Both of these CDs will share a welcome place in your house along with the DVD of the film.

Vol.2 of Boogie Nights takes you through the 70's into the 80's with a great selection of music from the movie. The music takes you through the life of Dirk Diggler through the ups and downs of his life. The only thing lacking is that several songs were left off the cd including the classic Fleetwood Mac song "Tusk" and Devo's "Jerkin Back And Forth" which are included on the DVD version of the film. However the music makes you feel you are in the film and with Dirk through his journey. A must for any fan of the motion picture.

.....to the first volume. This cd has even more great songs from the film. I love Driver's Seat and of course Boogie Shoes. It is a must that you pick up both volumes of this particular soundtrack. The variety of music is awesome and it will be well worth your money. I would have liked to have seen Lonely Boy by Andrew Gold, Fly Robin Fly by the Silver Connection, and Sunny by Boney M included. But hey....I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too!! ;) Regardless, these cds are well worth the money.

        An 'okay' collection from Heatwave. Don't misunderstand me, at one time, they were my favorite group, they could do no wrong in my eyes. It just that this is just another re-hash, and frankly, there's nothing new on this, other than "Razzle Dazzle." This just begs the question, "Where are the albums 'Hot Property' and 'Candles'?" What are they waiting for? Oh well, I guess I can dream 'til then!! Five stars for Heatwave, three stars for this collection!!

        Looking at the songlist, I would say it looks good, but could be a lot better! However, they did put "Razzle Dazzle" on the cd, probably just to take up space, but if I must say, "Razzle Dazzle" is a sleeper of a song. Enjoy the cd, but like I said, they could have done better.

        I've always dug me some Heatwave be it with the Up-tempo Jams or the Classic Slow Jams they always brought it. the arrangements&overall Production are on point.alot of these tracks are still banging as we speak. some timeless material here that never plays out.trademark Vocals&those smooth in the Pocket Grooves.

        Great collection of disco songs, but the sound quality is so bad that my copy went straight to the trash can. This is very low budget. I bought my copy new for 5.99. Sounds homemade. They are other volumes and they all sound the same.

            Didn't get a liner with the CD, but I didn't pay $327.63 either (that IS just a bad joke, right?? I almost listed mine for $327.62). Seems to be a later release for BTO, or what was left of them. Not bad for a swan song if that's what it was. Certainly not as good or bombastic as BTO (I) or Not Fragile - but what is?
            The album is just over 37 minutes long with one of the best songs, Rock n' Roll Nights, taking up over 5 1/2 minutes of that. Maybe at 18 I would have fell in love with it; a good album to play with a summer girlfriend on a lake somewhere. Then again, so would a Journey album... and who has time for that? Thankfully I don't.
            My advice - stop looking for this one. Contact me if you are about to reach for that fat checkbook - I'm not out to gouge anyone. Instead revive your love for those 30 year old songs with one of the Live albums. Although critics dis them unmercifully, they contain some great concert jams. BTO put on one of the most fun kickbutt shows! Feel lucky if you got to attend one - it set a standard that many other concerts failed to live up to.
            To relive those concerts, get HITS YOU REMEMBER LIVE, or the BEST OF...LIVE. Even a couple cuts on ALL-TIME GREATEST HITS LIVE will blow your socks off - crank Mississippi Queen / Sledgehammer to get those 70's ya-ya's off. Your 12" subwoofer won't know what hit it. Coldplay who? Please!! Put it in Overdrive and Roll On Down the Highway. again.

            Positively a great experience... with Randy gone it two a second Post-Randy album for Mr Turner to admit that Jim Clench, formerly of April Wine should handle the lion's share of the vocals.... I no longer have the album, and I'm sure not gonna pay $327 for a CD... but I'm on the prowl for this album... can still remember every song, and can't believe I let it out of my grasp...

            I was first introduced to this album in Durango CO in 1986.
            Perfect setting... Fantastic album. Since i did not own it,
            and since I moved, I have been looking for it ever since.
            I rate this piece of work at least equal to "not fragile".
