The sound is really original and highly creative. I like the song "Change." I like the melody a lot. "Women in Chains" is another song with a beautiful sound. "Pale Shelter" is also another good song on this cd. It brings back the early to mid 80s where life was much simplier for a lot of people.

The music is distinct, they don't sound like any other band.

Their music is great and I love the sound, but they are a studio group only. Their concerts are really poor. They don't play all of their hit songs, their live mix is slightly off, they don't bring a large enough supporting band and they don't relate well to the audience at all. The biggest issue I had with them in concert (Pacific Amphitheater, CA July 2006) was their song selections. They chose to play songs that they liked and not songs that the crowd wanted to hear. They left out some big hits songs to play some other songs that were really pretty bad. Which was a surprise to me as I love their music. I give them an "A" for their music and an "F" for their concert.

If I had to pronounce myself by one the most original bands of the eighties "Tears for fears" should be included even in the list of the most exigent hard fans of those ages.

They knew to combine the accurate balance between expression and sentiment, keeping in mind the vast audiences. So his musical balance allowed them to maintain the required presence and personality to achieve a special place among the great bands.

A must- have for any serious collector.

I love Laura Pausini, but some of her CDs sound like you're listening to the same song over and over. This CD is a perfect mix of her greatest hits. I love it!

This CD is one of the best that Laura Pausini has brought out. It is a collection of her best songs during the decade of the 90s till 2000. Laura Pausini is considered, along with Nek, Eros etc., one of Italy's most known artist in the international music scene. As for her voice, well it is very beautiful and crystal clear. To make the long story short, the songs of this cd are very good and some extraordinary, some are slow (ballads) while some others 'more fast' (pop songs). Either way, buying this cd you will not regret it. Highly recommended!

Great cd, great compilation! My favorites would have to be: E ritorno da te (although I like it better in Spanish, "Volvere Junto a Ti"), La Solitudine (I have heard her sing this song from 5 different sources and every time she varies it! But this is a great new version of it), Strani Amori, Le Cose Che Vivi, Ascolta il Tuo Cuore, One More Time (BEAUTIFUL!), Tra te e il mare (always a favorite), il mio sbaglio piu grande, and another new song Una Storia Che Vale which is fantastic!
The only complaint I have is the new version of Gente. In the beginning there's this weird whispering in English..."ordinary, ordinary people..." and it's just really not necessary; it even makes me a little carsick. I like the original version better.
But other than that, great cd and a must-have!!

"E ritorno da te" is one of the most beautiful and amazing songs I've ever heard in it's genre. It's a very powerful song that I have learned to sing along to by studying the lyrics. I also have a good background in Spanish that helps me to understand Italian.

This is my first Laura Pausini CD, but certainly won't be my last; it is an exceptional compilation spanning the years 1993 through 2000, though the early ones have been updated, and read "2001 version".
"Seamisai (sei que me amavas)" is a duet with Brazilian singer/songwriter Gilberto Gil from Laura's 1996 "Le Cose Che Vive" CD, and she sings one song in English, from the soundtrack of the 1999 Kevin Costner film "Message in a Bottle", and it is exquisite, and features the great Dean Parks on guitar.
A winner of many awards, Laura won first place with "La Solitudine" at the prestigious San Remo Festival in '93 when she was 19 years old, and third place with "Strani Amori" in '95.

Laura's voice has a tender and smoky sound when singing softly, and has a powerful high register which she uses masterfully (in this respect she can be compared somewhat to Celine Dion) and her pitch is perfection...it reminds me of a tennis player hitting the ball in the sweetspot of the racket...Laura hits each note in its sweetspot.
The arrangements are lush and beautiful, and many of the songs incredibly lovely, and could not possibly be sung better. The booklet insert has all the lyrics, recording info, and many photos of the doe-eyed Ms. Pausini. The sound is terrific and total playing time is 66'24.

I love this collection though I'm normally not a fan of pop music. Mylene has a great voice and the music is divine. :D My favorites are Les Mots, C'est une Belle Journée and Desenchantee.

I only knew 2 of mylene's songs that I heard on a european ststion when I was in medical school, I thought she was great!. But by no stretch of immagination did I think she had this massive great talent as a singer and song writer!
I admit I am still overwhelmed by the double CD set, I'm lost for words to describe the impact this album has on me.

There are 30 magnifisant songs, I can't say that one is better than the other , She will take you on a journey of ballades, pop and nearly classic on occasions.

I can't get over the beautiful ballade "pardonne-moi", where she sings her emotions out to princes of different countries, without having to shout or squeele like others do, you can feel the true emotion and the glory of her singing and writing talents, My God!!!!, it's mind blowing, also"les mots" such a beautiful ballade and one of my favourites has to be "Je te rends ton amour", the clarity and beauty of her voice and the beautiful music of Lourent Boutonant makes an unmissable piece of art!
And on a sunny day or a night out and in the car, "Sans cotrefacon" and "Pourvu qu'elle soint douce" are a great example of how far her talent goes for feel good probably danceable (for those who dance) pop music.

The sound quality and the grace and glory of her voice places her on top of my list of favourite singers, she is number one! and I'm talking about english and french singers!

If you don't have any french CD's start with this , you won't be able to get it out of your head.

Mylène..... C'est 20 ans de création fine, poétique, entrainante, intelligente, sensuelle. Et un monde où deux mots à peine prononcés par elle nous permettent d'entrer.

Ce BEST OF retrace cette carrière et devra vous donner envie de vous plonger dans l'unvers complet avec ces albums splendides (Innamoramento, Anamorphosée, Ainsi Soit Je, Cendres de Lune, L'autre), ainsi que ses 3 lives qui vous feront comprendre que c'est LA GRANDE !!!

When this cd came out, I thought: Having all of her albums, will this one be worth buying??...and having indulged in finally buying it, in spite of its expensiveness, the answer is YES!!, no regrets at all....this release is worth every dollar!

Featuring most of her greatest songs on this double cd collection makes the album really a must!... Both cd's have been constantly played in my stereo, discman and car, especially cd number two, which includes three new gorgeous never-released-before songs, all consecutively released as cd singles in France, most notably "Pardonne-Moi" (the third single), a melancholic, sensuous, lush, ballad in the trend of her latest studio album, the excellent "Innamoramento"...."Les Mots" (the first single), a duo with Seal, sung half in french & english....and "C'est une belle journée" (the second single), a happy, tuneful, infectious pop song, sort of in the style of "L'Histoire D'Une Fee, C'est...", the song Myléne created for the "Rugrats in Paris" soundtrack, which is also included. If you have the chance of watching the videoclips of the three aforementioned singles, they're fantastic (I watched them on TV5's international signal).

Besides, this wonderful collection includes new versions for "Maman a Tort", excellent remastered (but sometimes shorter) versions of "Beyond my Control", "Je t'aime Melancolie", et al....and such rarities, not included in her studio albums, like "Effets Secondaires", which ends with "great sound effect", "A Quoi Je sers", "La Veuve Noire".....

The CD Booklet has great photos of Mylene in various moods....In all, you won't be disappointed, a great experience. Buy it!!

Hey, I was gratefully surprised whit this CDs, I think that they are the best CDs I own, and believe me, I have a lot.

Reasons?????? You only have to put together all de Albums of the Glorious Mylene and lock the times. Since the first "Maman a tort", the extension is diferent, the version in "Les Mots" are LONGEST. "pourvu quelles soint douces" is an exclusive Remix edit, "Sans Contrefacons" are also longest. "Inamoramento" are a edit one minut shortest than the original analso "L'historie de una fete cest" and ON AND ON, and all the sound are REMASTERED, and sounds better than the originals. I am so hapyy, I broght it. And you?????... you really should buy it too!!!!

After exactly one year of releasing their second album "Dangerous and Moving", t.A.T.u. comes back with a greatest hits collection. When I heard of this collection I was really confused, how can t.A.T.u., a band that has only released 2 albums, be able to release a greatest hits collection? As far as I'm concerned I thought you needed four to five albums to release a greatest hits collection, but I guess I was wrong.

This collection gathers 20 t.A.T.u. songs; 6 of which were released as singles; 2 from t.A.T.u.'s first album "200 KM/H In The Wrong Lane"; 4 from their second album "Dangerous and Moving"; 3 un-released remixes, the Russian Versions of "Not Gonna Get Us" and "All The Things She Said"; and 3 un-released tracks.

It is quite amazing that t.A.T.u. came up with this track list. It truly gathers the best of the best. From the number one hits "All The Things She Said" and "All About Us" to the amazing "Not Gonna Get Us" and the cover from The Smiths - "How Soon is Now?".
"Friend Or Foe" and "Gomenasai" are pretty good, even thought their promotion was not very good, the songs manage to be great singles. The mixes from "Cosmos (Outer Space)" and "Craving (I Only Want What I Can't Have)" are flawless, each with their unique touch. "30 Minutes", "Show Me Love" and "Perfect Enemy" were always great song, which didn't make the cut for a single release, but are powerful enough to make it to this collection.

The new single "Loves Me Not" was always one of my favorites from "Dangerous and Moving"; it is a hard rock/pop/dance track, with simple, but powerful lyrics. Now, the unreleased tracks ("Null and Void", "Divine" and "Ne Ver Ne Boysia Ne Prosi") are each very different. "Null and Void" is the English version of "Obienzianka Nol", I think they did a great job on this one, I always loved "Obienzianka Nol" and wondered if it would be a mistake to translate it to English, and to my surprise, it wasn't. The lyrics are as cold and dark as the Russian version and it's meaning it's very powerful. "Divine" is nothing special, but somehow I like it. The only word on the song is divine, which could get a little annoying after some spins, but actually you want more and more. It's like nothing you've ever heard before. "Ne Ver Ne Boysia Ne Prosi" is t.A.T.u.'s Eurovision song from 2003. The song was once released in t.A.T.u.'s How Soon Is Now? CD-Single. The song is actually really good, even though it is in Russian it gets to you, it's very catchy.

The DVD is what makes this collection even better. It has 7 of t.A.T.u.'s videos including the explicit version of "All About Us" and the animated version of "Gomenasai". It includes 4 remix videos, and the making of "All About Us", "Friend or Foe" and "Gomenasai". It includes a live performance at Glam As You Mix party in France, and let me tell you that I was very impressed. The girls sing live all the way (except for the "Not Gonna Get Us" scream from Yulia) and the performance is full of energy. Last, it includes TV Spots from around the world. (Japan, Germany, France, Taiwan, U.K. and Russia)

I could have not thought of a better collection than this. This is for me, as far, if not the best, one of the best compilations ever. It is a shame that t.A.T.u. and their record company parted ways, but look out for t.A.T.u. next album in 2007. As for now, just add this to your collection and enjoy it. Believe me; you won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars The Best Nek Album So Far.......2007-03-18

I've never had a Nek album before, so I started out with this. I was not disappointed in the least. Nek's style is romantic pop/rock, and it comes out clearly with each song. I had no idea he had been creating music since the early 90's, and it was great to hear a wide range of his songs on this album.

I understand some Italian, so my respect for his lyrics soared. Even if you can't understand the Italian language, don't be discouraged. It's still good music! If you like romantic ballads with a bit of attitude, pick up "L'anno Zero." You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I am not mad about Nek, but decided to give it a try buying this one. I think it is very good. A great choice if you want to have one Nek album.

Well, in my humble opinion this is NEK's best album alongside with the other one called UNA PARTE DI ME (basically his newest one). Just for the record, as for the latter one, in my review I wrote that this album was out in two versions and the only thing that distinguishes them is only one word (look the review up and you shall have the difference - although both versions are incredible).

Now to this album, well, what can someone say except that it is incredible; from the song SEI SOLO TU (which also comes in another version with LAURA PAUSINI, not in this album) or the rest such as, LAURA NON C'E'. Either way, this album has a balanced mix from pop ballads to more `faster' pop songs. As for the singer, alongside with Eros, Laura Pausini and a few others, he belongs to the category of the most known Italian singers in the international scene (something you will also realize very soon when you listen to this album).

Highly recommended!!!

I think this CD has been in my 6-disc CD changer at least 90% of the 2+ years that I've owned it. Every time I take it out, it seems to somehow find its way back into the changer after a couple of weeks. I do own two other Nek CDs but this one is clearly the "Best of". Although it's hard to pick a favorite track off of this album, "In Te" is the one that probably gets me at the deepest level. Not only is the melody hauntingly emotional, the lyrics are even more powerful and understanding them can make one appreciate Nek as an artist even more. If you only buy one Nek CD, make it this one.

L'Anno Zero contains the hits that you need from Nek's career. Of the new tracks you should ignore the facile "Almeno Stavolta," but "L'Anno Zero" is a keeper. As for the rest of the songs, you can't really go wrong. That is, EXCEPT for "Sei Solo Tu". This would have been an exceptional example of Italian rock at it's best. It comes from 2002's Le Cose Da Defendere (another fine Nek album for your collection), and on that album it was featured as a duet with Laura Pausini. However, for some inexplicable reason (probably licensing), here it does not include Pausini's vocals! The duet was the version that hit big in Italy, not this. Don't give us only half of one of Nek's biggest songs. It would be like having a greatest hits album of Kid Rock where only he sings "Picture". Quibbling aside, if you don't own most or any of Nek's previous albums this is a good choice.

Abba is one of the few music groups who's music is always in fashion. There is not a "sour"" note on the whole CD. Abba lives and this CD proves it!

In my opinion, record companies should stop releasing hits compilations for certain artists once they get a boxed set released. Artists like Billy Joel, Kiss and Stevie Wonder all had comprehensive boxed sets of their material released, yet afterwards many shoddy single disc collections of these artists' work have been released.

The same goes for ABBA. Granted, the Swedish pop group has not been anthologized nowhere near as many times as the previous artists I've mentioned, but when they released the "Thank You For The Music" boxed set in 1994, the hits collections should have been done away with it. Granted, 2002's "The Definitive Collection" was a great way to expose new fans to ABBA without giving them too much all at once, but that was it. Stuff like "Gold" and "More Gold" should have been taken off the market.

Well, now we got "20th Century Masters - The Millenium Collection: The Best Of ABBA", a terrible, 12 track compilation. Now, I'm not saying ABBA's music. I personally think that their music never ranked below a solid 8.5, with the majority of it hitting a 10. However, all you get here is their most popular work, nothing else. Since this is an American collection, it makes sense sicne they only had four big (top ten) stateside hits, but even this is an inexcusable excuse.

Bottom line: skip this.

i bought this as a present for my mum, cuz i knew she loved ABBA. gotta say, being a Britney spears fan, some of these songs aren't too bad. Now i kinda know why Britney says she was a bit "influenced" by them

Many reviewers have given this CD an unsatisfactory review stating the fact that it's several songs short of ABBA Gold. These reviewers are completely missing the point. This CD was intended to showcase the bands American hits and not their International hits.

For the casual listener, this CD is highly recommended as it cuts right down to the chase (but then again, so does ABBA GOLD). For those of you out there who are impatient and can't sit through GOLD's 19 tracks then this CD is a blessing. The CD offers 11 out of ABBA's 20 US Chart entries. All of the 11 songs that are showcased peaked in the Top Forty of the Billboard singles charts. Ranging from their biggest- "Dancing Queen" (US# 1, CAN# 2), "Take a Chance on Me" (US# 3, CAN# 7), "Waterloo" (US# 6), "The Winner Takes It All" (US# 8, CAN #10), "Fernando" (US# 13, CAN# 2), "Knowing Me Knowing You (US# 14, CAN# 2), "SOS" (US# 15, CAN# 9), "I Do I Do I Do I Do I Do" (US# 15, CAN# 12), "The Name of the Game" (US# 12, CAN# 15) to their medium sized American hits- "Chiquitita" (US# 29, CAN# 17) and "Mamma Mia" (US# 32, CAN# 20).

However, even as a North American hits showcase, this CD is incomplete. Missing are the Top Forty Hits "Does Your Mother Know" (US# 19, CAN# 8), "Honey Honey" (US# 27) and "When All Is Said and Done" (US# 27). In my opinion, it should have also included their minor US hits such as "Super Trouper", "Money Money Money", "The Visitors", "Angeleyes", "Voulez-vous" and "On and On and On". But then again, THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION covers all the above and more.

It's very hard for me to give an ABBA greatest hits collection anything less than 5 stars considering all of their hit singles are extraordinary pieces of work with strong singing and excellent vocal harmonies. All of ABBA's hardcore fans probably already own the more condensed (and highly recommended) ABBA GOLD or THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION so this review is obviously not geared towards them. For the casual listener who may just want a sample of those four Swedes who conquered the International music charts bewteen 1974-1982, this CD is the perfect buy. Be warned however, that there is a high percentage that it will leave you wanting more.

Volume 2 of this collection is much better. I'm only a fan of seven songs on this CD. All the songs are standard Bobby Orlando and a lot of fun, but "The Best of Bobby O" would be a better choice.

I've been loving "Sensitive" for almost 20 years now and I'm very please to have it along with "Desire", "Passion", "Native Love" (even though it has a free style beat), "I'm So Hot For You", "Danger", and "Love Reaction" in my collection. If you recognize the all the songs on this CD I say, go for it! But if you only recognize the club hits then look for them on other collections.

04) Barbie & The Kens - "Just A Gigolo" (1982) : Single Version, total "Private Idaho" rip off song, this is the odd one of the disc, too New Wave. The 12 Inch can be found on "The Definitive "O" Records 12" Collection". (8/10)

05) Bobby O' - "I'm So Hot For You" (1982) : 45 Version, the 12 Inch version is on the Best Of Bobby O'. (10/10)

06) Free Enterprise - "Make It On My Own" (1982) : 45 Version, Another odd one, trying to rip off R&B/Urban music and some flat out embarrassing rapping on this one. "Hello sweet momma, i'm going through a trama, how's bout' a little ramma?", Bobby what were you thinking? (00/10)

07) Bobby O' & Claudja Barry - "Whisper To A Scream" : 12 Inch Version here, classic classic classic! We love you Claudja!!!!! The EP version is on the Best Of Bobby O'. (10/10)

08) The Flirts - "Danger" - 12 Inch version here, but not the original, this version sounds more like a demo version. (5/10)

09) Oh Romeo - "These Memories" (1983) : 12 Inch Version, classic Hi-NRG. (10/10)

11) Gomez Presley - "The Letter" (1982) : 45 Version, the same guy who sang "Make It On My Own", sings this one but does a great job on this one, the bassline is bangin' on this one. 12) Hotline - "Ready Or Not" (1986) : 45 Version, Total "Two Of Hearts" by Stacy Q rip off here. (00/10)

13) Band Of South - "Sensitive" : 45 Version, campy lyrics, campy song period, classic! (10/10)

14) The Flirts - "You & Me" (1987) : 12 Inch Version, the end was near for "O" Records, Bobby O' was using the Stock, Aitken & Waterman sound which was the in-thing through out the late 80's and early 90's. In other words, Hi-NRG/Freestyle/and other 80's Disco became House Music. (9/10)

I FELT OBLIGATED TO PURCHASE THIS CD BECAUSE I AM A BIG BOBBY "O" FAN , AND BECAUSE I JUST LOVE HI-NRG MUSIC. WHEN I FINALLY GOT THIS CD I WAS VERY EXCITED THAT THIS CD INCLUDED THE ORIGINAL EXTENDED VERSIONS FOR THE ALL THE TRACKS. THIS CD IS PACKED WITH CLASSIC 80'S HI-NRG. THIS IS ANOTHER CD THAT MUST BE PURCHASED TO COMPLETE THE BOBBY "O" COLLECTION.

If you really want the best music of Modern Talking please note the following.
1. There's only the inferior 98 remix of You're My Heart - You're My Soul. Forget that version. MT existed 1985-1987 and 1998-2003, but the newer songs are of a different style and approach.
2. Although the single version of Atlantis Is Calling is included, you should definitely check out the extended version as well which I admit is a little harder to get. (The other extended and instrumental versions are also recommended, if you can get them. There is a Selected Singles '85-'98 box out which has all that material plus the original artwork.)
3. Weak choice of original album tracks here that round out the CD. Songs to look for instead are Charlene, Only Love Can Break My Heart, Blinded By Your Love, Princess of the Night, Diamonds Never Made a Lady, You're the Lady of My Heart etc. NOT Slow Motion, NOT Lady Lai NOT You and Me. In fact, you need not be afraid of the original albums #1 to #5 because you will be hungering for more anyway.
4. The last three tracks are 1998-2000. Of the later singles try to get the rap versions featuring Eric Singleton (that also goes for YMH-YMS). The best post reunion singles are TV Makes the Superstar, YMH-YMS (rap) & China in Her Eyes (rap).
5. A good MT album for international tastes is America, which was released in 2001, and to me it's by far their best contemporary album. There is also a DVD with all the promotional clips.
6. After Modern Talking, move on to Bohlen-produced songs of Chris Norman and C.C. Catch. And especially check out the early Blue System CD's Body Heat (1989) and Twilight (1990) plus the single Sorry Little Sarah which was written for Modern Talking.

Irresistible, energetic and immensely enjoyable dance music, the Modern Talking arrangements are sensational, and the songs melodic and fun. There are a few ballads in this compilation, but most of it is high-voltage and addictive; once in the stereo, this CD tends to get played over and over.
Among my choice cuts are "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", "In 100 Years", and "Locomotion Tango", and these are the some of the songs that made "Modern Talking" sell enough records to make them one of the Top 10 most successful artists worldwide.

The creative force is composer/arranger/producer Dieter Bohlen, who in 1984 started the duo with pop singer Thomas Anders as his partner; they split in 1987, to reunite 11 years later for another 5 years. It's the incredible arrangements that make this music what it is, and the polished professionalism of its performance. The voices are high and "electronically enhanced", and sing over the throbbing rhythm and blazing electronic sound.
Dieter has produced many CDs for other artists, and one of my favorite albums, highly recommended if you like Modern Talking, is the one he produced for Engelbert Humperdinck, now released as "Step Into My Life", where Engelbert does a fabulous cover of "You're My Heart, You're My Soul".
Dance your heart out to these nifty disco tunes, which will never go out of style as long as people want happy music for dancing and listening.
The sound is fantastic and total playing time is 70'09 minutes.

I have heard of Vanessa-mae for several years, but it was not until recently that I became interested in her work after stumbling on some of her MTVs on youtube. After viewing "Destiny," "Contradanza," and "Devil's Trill" I found her music intriguing enough to try out her other works. After sampling several of Vanessa-Mae's CDs, I will have to say this is literally her best CD so far.

I enjoyed listening to the great majority of the compositions on this CD. Most of the tracks are up-beat, pop like, although with a stronger classical bend than Bond/Yanni. Nevertheless, several of the tracks are simply classical in nature. Therefore, this combination showcases the range of Vanessa-Mae's work very well. I am highly anticipating her next work, as I am interested to know how she is developing her violin skills - some of the compositions on this CD, although still refreshing, are around a decade old...!

But if this is your first introduction to Vanessa-Mae, this is the CD you should get.

You need to pay better attention to where an item gets sent when it is purchased. If you had looked you would have seen that this item did NOT get sent to my mailing address, and therefore I cannot review it because I don't have it!!!!

Vanessa-Mae music gives me energy. She plays the violin like nobody else can. If I need an attitude pick me up I play 'The Best of Vanessa-Mae'

Excellent theme, depth and taste were employed in the music videos contained on the DVD. The subject matter was intriguing, beautiful, dignified and stirring. I can't think of a music video other than Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence" that comes close to the level of vivid intensity that is contained here.

All ERA fans need to own this CD/DVD combo. Reason being is that it comes with a great DVD that everyone (especially males!) will like.

If you have never listened to ERA before and are curious, having a DVD to watch and listen to is the way to go.

I really hope ERA comes out with more videos because they are so relaxing, yet energizing. The videos and music take you away to another time and place. Enjoy

I recieved this double CD digi-pack for XMAS as a present from a cousin who got it on Ebay for me. This pack includes 1 Audio CD with 16 songs and a bonus DVD with the complete Era video collection. It is a great pack and the video quality is wonderful.

The audio CD has 14 of the hits of Era from all three CDs mixed together as well as 2 rarities,

Track 15: I Believe - a non vocal track, soft and ambient

Track 16: Looking for Something (Darren Tate Mix) a short but groovy edit

The bonus DVD includes a interactive menu, 9 video compilations that include;
