Takes you back.......2006-01-21

When this cd came out Gatecrasher was my home. Being in the middle of it when these tunes were played was, well, FANTASTIC!!
This cd is everything Gatecrasher was about before 2000, this club was the like a family and this cd is like a brother! SUPERB! UNBEATABLE! The best music is here on this comp. UNBEATABLE TRANCE!!!!!!!

The best trance CD on the Market (CD 2 That is).......2004-05-12

The second cd on this album is possibly my favourite mix ever, if your into trance or even just like clubbing buy this cd. From start to finish there is one anthem after another I can't speak highly enough of it.

Rating based on disc 2.......2003-01-31

If you can find this set at a decent price, don't hesitate to buy it. However, ensure that you immediately throw CD1 in the garbage. CD2, all early trance (1999) essentials, still remains to me as one of the most solid and pure trance mixes ever created. While the mixing is nothing to write home about, the track selection and flow is unstoppable. The money is worth it alone for disc 2.

Disc 1 = Crap. Disc 2 = Best trance CD you'll hear...........2002-09-14

Firstly, you have to wonder what Gatecrasher were thinking with this release. Disc one is not "Gatecrasher" trance. At all. And the mixing is crap. My mum could do better.

That being said though, put in disc 2 and you'll hear what is one of the best trance releases ever. This is awesome, from the start to the end. I have only listened to this album a couple of times so far, but already I think that I rate it higher then Gatecrasher Wet, and I never thought that this would be possible. The mixing and the track selection are perfect, and it is fair to say that they have redeemed themselves for disc 1.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the trance nation. Disc 2 will take you there. Enjoy.

Too bad they don't sell just the second disc.......2001-07-18

I bought Black having been very pleased with my Gatecrasher Wet album. However, I was very disappointed with the first disc (Early Set), being mostly monotonous house music. There were few variations in an otherwise repetitive beat. I haven't touched the disc since listening to it once. The second disc (Late Set), on the other hand, almost justified the money I paid for the album. It contained excellent trance from a variety of artists. I still prefer the Wet album. If only I could have purchased only the second disc...

this is a great cd. the second disc contains all the trance while the first cd is mostly clubbing music.

I have heard all of the gatecrasher cds except red...don't worry I'm buying it very soon. I heard it is great but I don't know how you can top this masterful piece of melding transitions that makes your brain do flips for days. It is full of wonderful peaks and lows that you can seemingly listen to forever. This is a definite must have for hardcore trance fans who love to take long "trips" and never come back the same way twice! ENJOY!
