    I absolutely love this album and have continued to relisten to it. It has been so much fun to get reacquainted with some of my old friends and reconnect with a great era in musical history. Enjoy.

    Raven have mastered a sensational 20 O'Keefe chestnuts. It's a rare case of a collection that, arguably, outdistances the potency of any single O'Keefe release. Though the compilation is chronologically presented, there's a seamlessness to the feel that reflects the early maturity of his writing and performing skills.'Goodtime Charlie's' single guitar figure and elegaic tone of ennui proved to be O'Keefe's signature. Country and Western is the broad umbrella under which his songs camp. But the simplistic, moral world of the Country and Western bulwark no more adequately describes O'Keefe than it does Steve Young, Paul Siebel, or Richard Buckner. Listen to the ambitious juxtaposition of a lost love with the fading memory of baseball ace,'Babe Ruth'. It's a play on nominal similarities, but that's just a mere excuse for an exquisitley voiced lamentation and Donny Hathway's piano playing.'Only an Ocean away' is another stunning evocation of pain, this time that of a Vietnam veteran forced to abandon a son and,'missing the boy in both of us'. Twenty years on, the complex, conflicted singer still bears the shame, admitting he's 'not the man he'll ever be, or the boy he was before. What was lost in Vietnam, was a lot more than a war'. I don't regret the inclusion of the Dylan collaboration,'Well,Well, Well' though it has nowhere near the biblical resonance that David Lindley placed on his, 'Twango Bango' CD. Great that O'Keefe toured Australia in 2006! Pity Alice Springs is off limits for such a seasoned performer.

    This Hillsong CD is one of my all-time favorite praise & worship recordings. Darlene Zschech (pronounced CHECK) is the lead singer/worship leader. Ron Kenoly and Alvin Slaughter join in on some songs.

    You'll note the fabulous song-list above. It's useless to cite favorites 'cause this is the type of album where you just press 'play' and enjoy. The songs and performances are happy, upbeat, passionate, heartfelt, lively, catchy and inspiring -- precisely what you need if you wake up in the morning in a grouchy mood. Of course, it's good ANY morning, regardless of mood.

    You can't help but start singing along, clapping, jumping up & down and dancing. Yeah, it's that good!

    It's also a good antidote for those who have suicidal tendencies due to over-exposure to bands like My Dying Bride and Type 0 Negative. Don't laugh, I'm serious.

    "Explosive praises and heartfelt worship" -- that it how I can sum-up this CD. A great starter for anyone wanting to build a Hillsongs collection, this CD compiles pumped-up old hits with instant new favorites, such as the joyful "Hear Our Praises". The power of God is certainly tangible as you listen to the CD! Darlene Zschech shines as the worship leader and the power of the vast chorus is felt throughout this praise extravaganza.

    Noteworthy: This CD is also available in video format. The only thing that could top hearing the celebration that took place in Sydney is witnessing the joy with your own eyes! I highly recommend you buy the video as well as the CD.

    This is the most awesome CD ever produced. Our contemporary service, Trinity United Methodist Church in Sarasota, FL, uses the music every Sunday, with the help of God in worship and in praise. We have 14-16 singers in our praise band and love every song on the CD....my personal favorite is "Shout to the Lord" with "Jesus Is Alive" running a close second. Bless each of the producers of this CD and the looking forward to many, many more songs to share with our service. God Bless!

    Shout to the Lord 2000 kicks out the praise in a style that isn't at all like your 200 year old dirgy old hymns. Yet it as all from the heart and all is to worship God. This CD is my new favorite!! Quite frankly - the only way I ever got pulled in to God's family is because I was introduced to contemporary Christian music. Upset about the lyrics on mainstream music? Listen to this!! It rocks out every bit as much - but with a great message.

    This is an absolutely awesome album. The singing is great, but more important you can feel the Spirit on it. It's all about Jesus, and this album really helps keep that in perspective.

      This 20 song collection of Bee Gees hits and perennial favorites is an odd mix. Arranged in a hodge-podge, non-sequential order, the songs run from 1967 to 1976. Quite a variety in range, but better available on any of their "Best Of" CD's. The remastering is better elsewhere as well.

          Is there a more thoughtful line than "I wish I had of known enough of love to leave love enough alone"?

          Or a sadder concept to be echoing in the mind in the early morn with thoughts of "him" sharing "our early morning sun" ... haunting, heartfelt and very moving. This track, Winter in America" has been with me on vinyl for more than twenty years and still holds pride of place.

          Not for the average inner city urchin with a vocabulary of the usual 400 words, but for people who value lyricism and a well crafted songs with meaning and substance.

          3 out of 5 stars Large collection for the price, but not perfect.......2006-07-30

          As with these sorts of all-inclusive collections, there are issues to be had with 'National Anthems of the World' as performed by the Swarovski Orchestra. Primary--to me--is that these performances and arrangements come off as being rather sterile and bland, though it's perhaps not surprising since I doubt very much that most of the nationalities of the nations represented here have citizens actually in the Swarovski Orchestra. There's little of the passion that a national band or orchestra would have in playing their own nation's anthem, much like listening to a generic studio band play play a collection of college fight songs (and there ARE CDs of those out for sale as well).

          That said, this 2-disc CD set does offer a wide spectrum of national anthems, though it does a far better job of covering European nations more so than any other region. For instance, Central America is poorly represented in this collection as is Africa which, aside from Cameroon, the heart of that continent is conspicuously ill-depicted. But the biggest omission is China; neither the mainland or Taiwanese anthems are included in this set. Considering that The People's Republic of China is the most populous nation on earth, as well as a global political and economic force to be reckoned with, even in 1996 (this CD set dates from 2004, but at least one online database list the contents from the mid-1990s), this is a glaring oversight in my opinion.

          The final gripe deals with the included documentation. Each of these anthems DO have titles to them, none of which the producers of this collection ever bother to mention and provide. One has to go to Wikipedia or some other resource to look up the actual name of the anthems included here. This is information that is relatively cheap to research and out of courtesy to the consumer should've been provided for this set, especially since this collection has been around in some form for over a decade already.

          For the money, it's a fairly good buy for those who want a collection of national anthems. But the producers could've done a better job of compiling the contents of this collection, and what music there is would've certainly benefitted from a bit more impassioned play.

          Swarovski Orchestra did an excellent job in this compilation. I work in Foreign Service & I use this CD to play US anthem & the host country anthem during events. Unlike other compilations which shorten the pieces, this offers full-length pieces saving me from embarrassment.
