The recently revived Stax label initiates its first release of new music with the appropriately named Soulive. The band's fifth studio effort, and first with a full-time vocalist, both solidifies and scatters the group's sound. By not utilizing high-profile guest vocalists, the focus is back on songs as opposed to the jazz-oriented jams of the past. Recent addition Toussaint acquits himself well, singing with old-school energy and passion that meshes with the group's similar slant. But it comes at the expense of the skin-tight Crusaders-styled approach, once a staple of Soulive's sound. A few instrumentals, such as the rather plodding "Bubble" and the Stevie Ray Vaughan-inspired "Outrage," allow the guys to flex their considerable chops, yet this is clearly the act's most controlled, song-oriented effort yet. Toussaint goes falsetto loverman on the syrupy closing ballad "Kim," but the album coheres most effectively when Soulive hit a mid-tempo groove, as on "Callin'," the opening Sly Stone heavy funk-rock of "Waterfall," and the handclap-driven title track. Toussaint's reggae roots emerge on "If This World Was a Song" and his dusky voice is also a terrific match for the grinding funk of "Morning Light." Most of the improvisational jazz the threesome built their reputation on is MIA, which is particularly noticeable in Neal Evans's B3 keyboards moving to a supporting role. But Soulive take a step forward into the past on this retro excursion, and the impressive results should expand their audience--although possibly at the expense of some established fans drawn to the band's less structured material. --Hal Horowitz

All the singers on the album have soulpower.......2006-08-12
Will the new album "Break Out" be the breakthrough album to a broader audience for Soulive? That's up for you to decide after listening to their funky soul music with strong guitar playing and a hot portion of jazz.
Soulive is formed by Neal Evans, Alan Evans and Eric Krasno together with a horn section consisting of Rashawn Ross and Ryan Zoldis. The vocalists on "Break Out" are Chaka Khan, Reggie Watts, Ivan Neville, and Corey Glover. There are fifteen tracks on the album including three interludes and four instrumentals. The music from Soulive is not soul for softies. The guys are here to play and once they got the soul engine started they keep it running until the end in interlude III. Guest musicians like Robert Randolph and percussionist Danny Sandownick fully contribute to the music.
In their guitar playing Soulive might remind you of the Isley Brothers who fully used guitars too back in the 70-ies. Another example of their love for guitar you'll hear in the beautiful cover of the 1968 version of crosstown traffic from guitar legend Jimi Hendrix. In between this funky rocking soul music you'll get some cool latin sounds as well like in the song cachaca. All the singers on the album have soulpower which is an essential part of Soulive.
top 20 on my ipod.......2006-08-02
I really enjoy this album. I wouldn't have come across this group within my usual musical circles, however, they were on NPR and I enjoyed how articulate they were when discussing their music and when excerpts were played I was hooked. This is a great album for working, driving, hanging out at the gym. I really enjoy this one.
It's Soulive but not as ALIVE as they can be.......2006-02-21
For me, the real Soulive can be heard in their fantastic Turn It Out album. That one really showcases the band in its true form - the core of the band is an extremely tight and exciting rhythm section, with wonderful melodic licks from the guitar and organ. That's all I need, personally, and this new album gives us that in places (Reverb, Breakout, Take It Easy) but much of the album seems to have covered over the main nerve of creativity within the band.
Perhaps this is due to the higher production values on the record, which are very clean but not as raw and visceral as on Turn It Out. Also, the guest vocals are pleasant, and there are some quite happy multi-instrumental jams on show, but for me this all is gloss over what I really want - Soulive jamming it hard as a 3 piece and letting the juices flow!
I suppose the best way to experience this is to see the band live, so if they are in your town get some tickets straight away!
I'm still in love with this band, although this album doesn't give me the kick I get from some of their earlier work. This CD is growing on me though, as it reveals sophisticated depths...
Give it some patience, and this becomes a mellow treat. It might not get you freaking out on the underground as you listen to it on your iPod though...
p.s. That is a reference to me listening to Turn It Out on the London Underground. Can't help going crazy to Soulive!)
Break Out, to where?.......2006-02-19
Break Out has a strong soul flavor, which a lot of vocal tracks. The best song is "Got Soul" which sounds instantly familiar (if they're copying someone else's song they do a great job). The other vocal songs are okay. The instruments, though, are lacking on this album. There isn't much to keep it interesting, save for some sharp horn lines. It's easy to believe these songs would be great heard live in a sweaty club and the volume turned up to 'earthquake'. This CD just isn't very compelling.
Now This Is What I Was Lookin' For!.......2005-12-02
I have been a fan of Soulive since I first read a MODERN DRUMMER interview with Alan Evans in '01. After I read the article I decided to check out the "Doin' Something" CD and wasn't disappointed. I loved the sound of the band and couldn't wait for future releases. Welllll... the material that they recorded before (but released after) "Doin' Something" was a little raw but had excellent material, but I didn't count that as "new" stuff". "Next" really let me down- material wasn't quite as sharp, production was too glossy sounding for my taste and drums sounded weak. Then there was a live album and a remix album- both good, but I wanted something from the studio that would hit me like "Something". Finally it came with "Break Out"! It hit me from beginning to end, maybe even a lil harder than "Something". The material was fresh and on-point, had very good guest vocals, and there was definitely a different plan in mind (to my ear) as far as the production. The organ sound seemed a just a little further back in the mix, guitar and horns (most notably the trumpet) took a more prominent lead, and the snare had a little more body to it. Overall, a great sounding CD that shows some growth of the Soulive sound. Personal favorites: Reverb (too funky!!), Break Out, Take It Easy, Vapor, and What Can You Do. Pick this up if you are a fan!!

Doin' Something, Soulive's Blue Note debut and second album overall, sees the organ-based groove-jazz trio creatively stretching beyond their heralded debut, Turn It Out. Where that session was a lean, live cooker that cemented the trio's appeal to the acid-jazz and jam-band crowd, Doin' Something reaps the rewards of time spent in the studio--there are overdubs and, more importantly, an ambitious, varied overall vision. Rather than just rattling off a dozen jams based on a single line, the tunes here are actual songs with memorable melodies that draw upon hip-hop, soul, funk, and pop to go along with the rump-shaking jazz grooves. Furthering the funk foundation, the trio--guitarist Eric Krasno and brothers Neal and Alan Evans on organ and drums, respectively, also brought in James Brown-veteran trombonist Fred Wesley to lead a four-piece brass section (and contribute horn arrangements) on a few tracks. This is the sound of a hot young band putting its best foot forward, and the great thing is, you won't be able to keep your foot from bouncing along. --Tad Hendrickson

The Blue Note Debut, Soulive!!!.......2005-06-22
This is a great follow up to Soulive's first album. Now they're signed to probaly the greatest record company in the country; Blue Note, which also hosts Medeski Martin Wood, Terence Blanchard, Joe Lavano, Charlie Hunter, Cassandra Wilson, and many more.
I am a huge fan of organ trios. Sometimes I wish they just recorded with the three of them, but the horns do sound nice. This is tight grooves. Soulive are the kings of modern soul funk jazz.
Soulive hasn't released a studio album in a while. And it's really bugging me. I want to hear how these guys are progressing. With their last studio release, Next, Soulive proved to have some soul left in them, but we haven't gotten anything in a while.
I happened to catch a Soulive preformance on BET jazz the other night, and these guys were smoking. Smoking soul, Soulive knows how to bring down the house.
I think one of the reasons Soulive is so successful is that they appeal to everyone. They have the style, the looks, that appeal to the younger generation, yet they can still get down and groove and play some real jazz.
I think we're only in the early stages of Soulive, but my guess is that they grow into a very decent band. They are one of my favorites, and probaly will be for years to come.
In the mean time, keep listening to this funky album! It's got some killer grooves that can put you right in the mood. Soulive, the great soul jazz ensemble!
fresh sound.......2004-04-02
Great sound a -little smooth at times though. This is a great trio of young players but the guitarist's "hep-jazz-cat" look is pretty funny.
Amazing Soul-Funk-Jazz.......2002-10-15
Before I delve into my review, I must say that this will be rather biased, as I know the drummer somewhat well and have other connections to the band (namely, their manager, jeff Krasno, Eric's brother). But I digress. This was my first Soulive album I bought, after seeing them 3 times live. I wasn't sure if I'd like the studio efforts for I know that they work extremely well live. However, after the first listen though, I was hooked. Yes, it doesn't have that same raw energy that they posess live or on Turn It Out; yes the sonic qualities and mastering of the recording may not be top top notch; but it just gives it its own flavor, which I think should therefore be viewed in a slightly different light from how you'd view them live to truly appreciate the efforts on here, which are plentiful. Onto the music.
The album opens with one of their better known tunes, Hurry Up...And Wait. If this doesn't get your foot tapping, then I don't know what will. I do not tire of this song ever. Definitely an album highlight. These guys posess that organic funk groove that makes the Meters or James Brown so much funkier than all the newer stuff held down by click tracks or (ugh) drum machines. However, as another reviewer noted, it's not AS organic as MMW gets. Next is one of three tracks to have a 4 piece horn section. Now I share the same sentiments with most other reviewers on here that Soulive loses some of it's essence having these guys play along. The tracks (Doin' Something, Cannonball and Roll The Tape) just don't seem to be as spontaneous as the others as just a trio or plus one horn feel, which of course would make sense since it is trio plus horn arrangement. But still, I prefer it to be just as a trio or trio plus horn. Track 3 is Evidence, and this is the debut of Neal playing piano, which some may not like, but I absolutely love. This is another one of my favorite tracks off this album by far. Next is another well known tune, One in Seven, and is one of the more distinctive cuts. Bridge to 'Bama is next and is quite good. Check out how the tenor sax man (not detrimental to the song in any way) always comes back into the same melody during his solo, giving the song a strong sense of unity for which to expand off of. Cannonball is next, one of the horn section pieces, and is fine in its own right, but questionable as to it belonging on here.
Shaheed is track 7, possessing a rather memorable melody played down low on Neal's B3, and serves as a great transition from Cannonball into Romantic, the album's one vocal piece. Stephanie McKay provides those, and one can tell she has as much soul as the three backing her in easily the most emotionally moving piece on Doin' Something. Afterwards is another one of my favorite tracks, Solid. It just has that quirkiness to it which I've grown to love from these guys. Next is Roll The Tape, which I like best of the three horn section pieces. Some of the solos on here seem rather haunting for the key/mode they're chosing, very modern and cool. Last is another on of my favorite cuts, Joe Sample. Two simple melodies start it off and they end it all with one statement of the Steppin' riff off of Turn It Out. But wait! Probably the most surprising thing of this album exists after the song supposedly ends. It is Neal playing solo piano in more of a true jazz-classical style, and it is astounding; first because one most likely wouldn't expect it from him, and second, one wouldn't expect to hear it on a Soulive album! Assuming you can appreciate the piano greats like Bill Evans, McCoy, Chick and Herbie, you should love this. This album I hope I should not tire of for a long time to come.
Horn Controversy.......2002-03-30
As there seems to be a bit of controversy over the horn section I thought I'd break the tie. First of I play trumpet so there's nothing I like more than some fat brass licks and solos, however, most of the tracks with horn arangements seem a little out of place and choppy if you will. Also in comparison with their first album this one does have a smooth and slightly overproduced sound which seems to be taking them farther and father from their original vibe of "live preformance as the escence of music" (or somthin like that). Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad albumto put on and groove to, it just doesn't have that same raw, in-the-club, jam feel that turn it out did.
Soulive is amazing.......2002-02-07
I love this CD, and would definately recommend it to anyone.

Soulive are proof that jazz remains a living organism that continually evolves from its past to make music for the present. Now a quartet with their addition of a saxophonist, Soulive brew a seamless funky concoction of '60s jazz-organ grooves, '70s funk, '90s acid-jazz, and fresh hip-hop that defies classification. The basic vibe of the music mirrors the great organ-guitar-sax era of the '60s, and these twentysomething musicians capture the nightclub feel of that time on "Tuesday Night's Squad" and the stirring ballad "Alkime." Dance-music fans will dig tracks that feature hip-hoppers Black Thought (from the Roots) and Talib Kweli. And for those who need their '70s groove on, they quote Earth Wind & Fire directly on "Flurries" and pay homage to the Brecker Brothers' highly syncopated style on "Whatever It Is." Dave Matthews, who Soulive opened for on a long tour of sold-out rock venues, returns the favor here on "Joyful Girl," but he is by far the least interesting aspect of this 13-song set. As their album title suggests, in jazz, Soulive is what's next. --Mark Ruffin

Doin' Nothing (for me).......2007-03-25
If you are someone who listens to nothing but hip-hop music, you will probably think you are hearing "jazz" when you rip this. That's what scares me - that and all of the other things that Blue Note seems to be willing to do to water down their brand. To someone who listens to a lot of jazz (actual jazz) and blues and rock/pop/soul and classical and world music, like me, this stuff will sound like slick formulaic clap-track party music that leaves no back-beat behind, with very little improvisational interest, and absolutely no compositional interest. I wonder how the band can even keep these tunes straight in their own heads when they're trying to play them live, but then I do have to remind myself that Eskimos are reported to use over 50 different words for "blubber" and more than twice that number for "snow". The drummer can probably keep them straight because he pretty much does the same thing on every song with no variation and without *ever* missing the 2 and 4 on that overly-crisp snare. Two stars for "Next" because it does make you want to get up and shake your booty if you're really drunk first. Otherwise, and unfortunately for me, this music is pretty much Souless.
Soulive is not a band but way of playing.......2006-05-13
I have always been real critical of any band trying to recreate that new jazz/bebop/smooth sound but when i heard of soulive's cd "Next" it made me think twice of jazz to be exciting. This instrumental band has that old school meets new school and not many people can pull it off. On the cd of course the off beats of this group is captivating as the audience can hear their laid back grooves proving that this band is doin what they love. with the intergration of organ and that combo feel it blows one's mind as an individual can "dig" these guys grooves. This cd not only is hip and happen but it can easily bring people of differnt types of jazz together as it bring ideas of old school jazz with the improv. THe best song on that cd would have to be "Joyful girl" featuring Dave matthews
GET OFF THE SOAPBOXES, PEOPLE!!.......2005-10-26
It isn't a crime to try something different. Delving into another part of oneself, one's work. That is what art is about, a point that many of these 'fans' seem to miss. What a bunch of armchair musicians!!! This is a quite diverse, peppery, thumping recording. No, it is not pure jazz, but it fits into the jazz realm. Commencing with TUESDAY NIGHT'S SQUAD, they sort of warn you that this isn't their normal menu, but that it is going to be fun. LIQUID kicks a**!! JOYFUL GIRL, with all due respect to Dave, would have probably been better suited to a singer of the ilk of Billy Porter or Luther or even Mick Hucknall (if blue-eyed soul was the angle!!). CLAP! is an instant club/hip-hop classic. One cannot resist that tough beat. NE-NE is particularly soothing, leading you into the wonderful I DON'T KNOW, sung with such passion and interesting phrasing of Amel Larrieux. ALKIME pumps perfectly. It is all good. This is by far no masterpiece, but it is not crap, as stated by so many of these self-righteous reviewers. There's nothing wrong with being accessible if your talent shows through. Here it definitely does!!
Soulive, Next.......2005-06-22
After wondering weather I liked this album, hated it, didn't really care, had no opinion about it etc. I finally came up with the conclusion that you can't listen to this album in a jazz frame of mind, or else the hip hop numbers will eat you up. Nor can you listen to this album with a hip-hop, rock, or pop frame of mind.
You just got to be open to EVERYTHING, and I mean everything. This is probaly one of the most diverse albums I have ever heard. Not usually a fan of rap. R&B, hip-hop etc.. but the hip-hop numbers weren't that bad.
As much as the hip-hop tracks seem to take over the album for many people, Soulive still has their groove. That same groove you heard on their first recordings. Now, they just added a little something else to the mix. Don't worry folks, I don't think they've changed into a rap band. I'm pretty confident it was just an idea to have a diverse style of music on Soulive's third studio album.
Hopefully soon, the new studio Soulive album will come out and restore everyone's faith in this magnificent band.

Jam-meets-jazz on the city streets.......2005-01-06
A few bars into "Tuesday Night's Squad" on Soulive's Next-their fourth album, and the follow-up to their Bluenote debut Doin' Something-it may seem to anyone even remotely familiar with this organ-based trio's raw "soul-groove jazz" style that they've wandered into the wrong party. The free-wheeling swirl of Neal Evans' normally fattened-up Hammond B-3 comes across as a bit too rehearsed, the crack of his brother Alan's snare a bit too clipped, and the bite of Eric Krasno's guitar a bit too muzzled. Fortunately, by the time "Joyful Girl"-an Ani DiFranco-penned ballad featuring an almost gospel-tinged vocal by Dave Matthews, replete with horn swells and coral sitar-kicks into gear, the ever-elusive ingredient called *feel* has fully reared up in the mix, and we can begin digging Next as the slippery, soulful and funky experience it was no doubt meant to be.
Granted, Next was already conceived as somewhat of a departure for Soulive, considering the heightened role of alto saxophonist Sam Kininger, who appears as a side artist on Doin' Something but this time out is much more integrated into the band's overall sound. That creative move, along with added guest spots from the Roots' frontman Black Thought (positing mad flow on the infectious Philly funk workout "Clap!"), hip-hop guru Talib Kweli (stealth-rhyming on "Bridge to 'Bama") and neo-soul chanteuse Amel Larrieux (waxing deep on the sexy-sweet "I Don't Know") make this record a key evolutionary step for the group-right down to Neal Evans' choice of various analog synths to augment his basslines (as the mooged-out left-hand vamp of "Kalen" attests). In their quest for a true fusion of instrumental jazz, funk, soul and hip-hop, it turns out Soulive have concocted more of a polished studio effort with Next than anything they've done to date.-Bill Murphy

Unbelievable (soulive-they got soul when they're live.).......2005-08-03
From the original "turn it out" album to this, brings a totally different but difinetly Grow-on-you tone. I find that the people who comment on soulive's new albums as to be too hip-hoppy and non-traditional are too stuck in their little minds to think that progress ain't a good thing. The first to the lastest album goes from an original hammond jazz trio with groovy melodies to an all out funky trio with much more groove. Eric krasno's guitar is mainly amplified with a ultra-funky t-wah sound, Alan Evan's 'beats' are extremely catchy and syncipated and Neal Evan's traditional hammond is played with a new age and soulful groove throughout this live album. The people who I introduced this album to were all into very different types of music, and all really enjoyed it. Give this album a listen, I'm sure you'll get into it.
Shake your money maker..........2004-08-19
To say that Soulive is a lesson in groove is stating the obvious, and this album wonderfully underscores that lesson. Being a musician, the thing that keeps coming to my head as I listen to this live cd is "if only groups I play with could be this tight." These guys listen to each other, playing off each other not only during the heads of tunes but in the solo sections as well. They slowly build energy from quiet parts to loud parts (in the same way String Cheese Incident does) and I can only imagine how much fun this live show would be because of this. For either an enthralling listening analysis or some killer background music, this cd will not disappoint either way.
DERIVATIVE.......2004-04-08
This is not a good organ trio by traditional standards or by modern standards. Check out Pat martino or Paul bollenback to realize the truth about the organ trio. P.S. the guitarist's Jazz clown suit is just plain not cool.
This is the one.......2004-03-20
The self-titled Soulive CD is without a doubt their best effort to date. They bring the funk and pepper it with just enough soulful jazzyness to put it over the top. The music on this CD breathes. This band was meant to be heard live and they do not disappoint. Everyone I've played it for has gone out and bought a copy. If you're a Soulive fan, you will love, I mean really love this CD. If you're not familiar with them but are curious, do yourself a favor and buy this CD immediately.
DOES THIS 3SOME JUSTICE.......2003-10-31
This CD is so tight and true to their live vibe. I've seen them a few times and, besides the energy you get from the crowd, this album captures it all. It shows that even a threesome can still fill your ears to capacity. If you were thinking about seeing them live, get this CD first so you know what's in store. I'm a die-hard fan so take into consideration my bias, but I'm also a musician and I promise this album will make any soul-jazz fan move. If you want to see what they can do in the studio with the addition of a horn arrangement, pick up Next(my favorite). They are the best!

totally unexpected and good.......2003-12-07
I saw the band this morning on the CBS news show and dug it so I picked this up today. I was expecting to hear the tight grooves they were playing and instead was treated to a long-form hip hop jazz journey.
Took a second to get used to but damm cool, just ordered the live album from amazon, interested to hear the evolution.
Highly recommend remixed though.
A Darn Good Album!!!.......2003-10-17
If I could sum up this whole entire album, I would say that it's superb. I've never heard anything like this album. It's like they've took hip-hop and jazz to a whole different level.
Take Hip-Hop& Jazz throw in some Meshell N'degeocello seasoned with The Beatnuts a fresh can of Chali 2na& Akil (from Jurassic 5) glazed with some Wordsworth and you have yourself a dish of hip-hop soul. You get your $'s worth on this b/c it's good from start to finish, take track 2 "Tabasco Remix" as an example.
If you know good music, then this is the album for you.
Take my word, you won't be dissapointed...
Solid new CD from Soulive.......2003-10-08
I pre-ordered this album so it arrived in my mailbox on the day of its release (October 7th). I've been listening to it all day and it's a decent album.
Take the original Turn It Out album, re-think all the tunes, throw in samples from the originals, add some bumping bass & turntables, overlay it all with a heavy hip-hop beat and sprinkle some rap on top. That's Turn It Out Remixed.
Fans of Next will appreciate this album, it's got a similar feel (although it takes Next's "concept" even farther). My personal favorite tracks are Doin' Something Remix (feat. Meshell Ndegeocello on electric bass - wicked!), Cash's Dream Remix, and Arruga De Agua Remix.
If you aren't familiar with Turn It Out, I recommend you listen to that first - the tunes on Turn It Out Remixed are cool, but you can appreciate it more when you know the originals.
Overall, it's a solid album. If you know Turn It Out and you like Next, definitely check this out. It's like a merge of the two.

With that many songs to choose from, should be better.......2003-05-13
This should have been one of the best albums of the year, but the song selection was rather poor. I was quite disappointed.
The Greatest Show on Earth........2003-04-01
I thought after attending Bonnaroo that there would be no way to document this occasion without a huge CD set. However, they performed a miracle and this 2 CD set is great. I highly recommend it.
very good but not great.......2003-01-02
this is one of those concert festival cds that would have been so much better live... some of the tracks live Les Claypool and Robert Randolph really rocked on but other like Bela Fleck and most of disc 2 could have been way better. the one really good thing this cd did is make me aware of the Bonnaroo Festival and who could be playing at it this year! you would be better of finding bootlegs of the show.
-Sample some of the sweetest music around.......2002-11-18
What do you need to know about this compilation? I really shouldn't presume that I know. However, I can tell you what I enjoyed, and why I enjoyed it.
Widespread Panic with Dottie Peoples and the People's Choice Choir-Unbelievable energy,is this gospel music? Is it Southern Rock? Does it matter? Not really, it is simply music that is passionate, vibrant, and great for the soul. This may seem overly enthusiastic, or even maudlin, but I recommend that you listen to the song, and hear the magic for yourself.
Phil and Bobby:Tennessee Jed-apropos right? Fitting for the occasion, and it is obvious that the crowd appreciated the song. What is more, the band is great, and they have such a following for good reason.
Les Claypool's Frog Brigade:Lomotive Breath- The Frogs do Jethro Tull proud; a great cover, a sweet tip-o'-the-hat.
Robert Randolph & the Family Band with Luther Dickinson-Very impressive, such skill, such soul. If you have never seen this band, it is definitely worth your while, what an experience they offer to those fortunate enough to attend their shows.
Soulive-Talent, ability, skill, yes describe it as you will, they do what they do, and they do it well. So funky, so fresh, yet so reminiscent of the musical past. The music combines elements of Jazz past, present and future.
The John Butler Trio-Perhaps not many people know of this band, as they are from Australia, but you just might appreciate this band's blues, jazz, and rock mixture. Sweet slide guitar.
If your curiosity has been peeked in the slightest, get this album, it is musically diverse, and samples some really great music. Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk, Soul, Bluegrass, Rock, Gospel, classify as you will, but in the end you will be satisfied.
An Ample Compilation..........2002-11-08
Who ever edited this CD set should get a pat on the back. they did a great job, it must have been horrible to have to hack down the hundreds of awesome songs performed by a number of down right rockin' bands. I would like to have seen some of the Disco Biscuit's on this album but more importantly I would loved to have seen some of Colonel Les Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains! That is possibly the coolest live show that I have ever heard! For those of you that share this mutual disapointment should check out the DVD, it contains one song from the Bernie Brains set. This CD contains a lot of the solid performances that were given at the Festival but falls short of the legacy that the Bonnaroo Music Festival left in its wake. There are some blistering performances like the Frog Brigade track but overall it just falls short. If you were at the Festival don't bother with this CD get the DVD, unless you are a completionist. For the rest of you to get a good feeling for the type of music exebitioned at the Festival check it out, they should release an eight or nine CD set including some full sets but oh well!
