Giuffria Does It Again!.......2005-09-08
Giuffria was in essence a super group of musicians. Gregg Giuffria has been in (Angel, House Of Lords & Keel), David Glen Eisley has been in (Dirty White Boy, Friderikson/Phillips, Murder's Row & Elements Of Friction), Craig Goldy has been in (Dio & His own cd's), Alan Krigger (Just Giuffria) & Chuck Wright has been in (Bad Moon Rising, Doro, Impellitteri, House Of Lords, Kelly Keeling, Ted Nugent, Magdalen, Magdallan, Murder's Row & Quiet Riot). I prefer this cd to the Self Titled one before it. It has a more polished & radio friendly feel to it. It is getting harder & harder to find since Axe Killer went out of business & the MCA version is long out-of-print & impossible to find. So, if you can find them collect them because they will be worth a lot of money in the near future.
A Fine piece of 80's melodic metal history!.......2005-03-13
This is much better than the first Giuffria album. With this one they toughened up their guitar sound a bit. This album is a great example of 80's metal. The keyboards sound great, but on certain song it's a bit over done.
1.No escape(9/10)Stars out with a keyboard intro and then bursts into a great rocker!
2.Love You Forever(5/10)Sappy love ballad.Your girlfriend will like it,but you won't!
3.I Must be Dreaming(5/10)More of the same.Another Love ballad.
4.Girl(5/10)More over used keyboards on this one.Dosen't sound bad though.
5.Change of Heart(7/10)This one picks up a bit.A very good song. The guitar sounds good on this track. If you love the 80's,you'll love this one like I do!
6.Radio(8/10)Straight ahead anthem rocker!
7.Heartache(6/10)Another love ballad of this album. Not bad!
8.Lethal Lover(10/10)The guitar talent here is amazing. This song really rocks. You'll love it!
9.Tell it Like It Is(10/10)Another great rock song.Fans of 80's will really enjoy this one.
10.Dirty Secrets(7/10)Not bad,but not the best!
If you want to own a rare 80's gem, then is is a good one.Bottom line if you like ballads and 80's metal you will like this!Don't pay over 19 bucks for it though!
Wish I could review the remaster........2003-06-11
Unfortunately, this one became unavailable before ours was shipped, so I never heard the remaster, but the album is still a great one. I still intend to get the new one if it becomes available again.
Excellent Melodic 80's Rock n Roll.......2003-01-10
I love this cd.It is classic 1980's rock. I first bought this cassette in 1986 and just recently bought this on cd. This was a great strong follow up album to their debut cd Giuffria from 1984. This album is a mix of melodic hard rock and power ballads mixed with excellent synthesizers by Gregg Giuffria and great vocals by Glen David Eisley. I like all songs on this cd,but I especially love TELL IT LIKE IT IS,LETHAL LOVER,NO ESCAPE,GIRL,and ON THE RADIO. These 5 tunes really kick. This cd is a great listening experience.
Take My Hand, I Don't Wanna Walk this Earth Without You.......2003-01-02
In 1987 I discovered the ultimate Rock Love Ballad! Unfortunately, the group never got the promotion they deserved.
These simple words, "Take My Hand, I Don't Wanna Walk This Earth Without You" from the song "I Must be Dreaming" summed up the feelings of young lovers who loved metal perfectly! The Power of "Still Loving You" from the Scorpions is the only thing comparable to the powerful emotions of this one song!
I searched for years for the song unsuccessfully!
I once heard a Live Band in Germany Play the song at a concert and tears came to my eyes. I have bothered every DJ and CD store in my path for the last 15 years trying to find this Diamond of a song. Today, I have realized a 15 year old dream!!!!

Customer Reviews:
Badelt's most underrated effort.......2005-11-09
If you're any kind of film score fan, then you need to pick yourself up a copy of this album - even if it is second hand. The biggest problem with this album is that it isn't so readily available in the US as it is in Australia, and that does an injustice to Klaus Badelt, who here presents us with some extremely engaging and touching music.
The score is written mainly for a fairly decent sized orchestra with a strong emphasis on the strings, with the brass acting only as an accent on the strings, as evidenced in the third track 'Ned Kelly' where we have the main theme stated in full. It sounds so cliched, but everytime I listen to this track it sends shivers up my spine. Every single time. I love it!
The album also features two songs performed by Bernard Fanning. The first 'Shelter for my Soul', opens the album and fits in quite nicely with the themes and tone of Badelt's work (Badelt wrote and arranged the strings for this piece as well). The second piece is a traditional Australian folk piece called 'Moreton Bay'. Like the review below states, because this song is right in the middle of the album, it really detracts from the experience of Badelt's work, and should have been saved for the end of the album.
Badelt has written some very bittersweet themes that are both hopeful and mournful by turns. I believe Badelt is underrated for the many electronic and synth-influenced scores he has produced, but the writing in tracks such as 'Ned Kelly', 'The Light', 'Back Home' and 'The Jerilderie Letter' only confirm that he is a very deft hand at writing for a full orchestra. His solos are beautifully placed as well - an Irish whistle is used only occassionally, but is most appropriate when it does show up, and roots the score in its Australiana setting. The score also features viola and trumpet solos that are generally featured during the more character-driven moements of the film (of which there are many) and make for a fairly intimate score at times.
If you don't expect any big, racey action writing, and are after an orchestral score with heart, then Ned Kelly comes highly recommended.
4.5 Stars for Klaus Badelt's Most Underrated Score.......2003-11-01
I first heard the music to Ned Kelly when I travelled to Australia and watched the movie. While I was a tad dissappointed, I went out and bouth the CD immediately, and have been moved like no other score can do ever since. Klaus Badelt has been one of my favourite composers since his VERY early work on Extreme Days, but I found this CD to be something completely different. In the tracks such as Ned Kelly and my personal favourite, The Glenrowan Inn, Badelt uses such a tragic heroic musical theme that stands outside the movie as a work of art. Like the first reviewer stated, this is not typical action-music fare, which I can't get enough of, but it is so beautiful, haunting, and moving that I swear you will not be dissappointed by this score, although you might be by the movie.
4.5 Stars - Beautiful!.......2003-05-09
This is the music composed by Klaus Badelt for the 2003 released film 'Ned Kelly'. Klaus Badelt was also responsible for the music from The Time Machine, The Recruit and K-19: The Widowmaker and has a steadily increasing catalogue of very successful solo scores under his belt now. Don't expect the usual Media Ventures synth and percussion assault (which I love to death) but do expect some of the most well written film music of the last year or so. Synths have been used through the score, but the bulk of it is performed by a real orchestra and several solo instruemtns have beenemployed as well (violin, viola, cello, trumpet, flutes and pipes)
The music he has written for Ned Kelly is, in a word, beautiful. The film wasn't intended to be an action romp through the countryside of Victoria, but instead it made an attempt to reflect on Kelly's feelings, emotions and reasoning behind some of his actions, and Badelt's score suits this view perfectly.
The CD contains two songs by Bernard Fanning (lead singer/songwriter from the Australian band Powderfinger) and the disc opens with his track 'Shelter For My Soul' which is used in the end credits of the film. It's a well constructed piano piece that speaks about how actions have consequences. Badelt has also lent a hand on this piece by arranging the accompanying strings. This leads us into the next two tracks 'Saving a Life' and 'Ned Kelly' which are performed together to form one nine minute piece that sets up the main themes for the rest of the disc. It is a very bittersweet theme that brings to life the mistakes Ned makes, but the guilt and sorrow he feels for what he has done and the path it has led him to. It's a very moving theme and while it isn't a bombastic orchestral assault, it is very powerfully performed. These two pieces nearly have me in tears I find them so moving :P
'Destiny' is a very sombre theme that is used to set up that sense of foreboding in the film. It incorporates the use of an irish pipe which gives us a sense of the Kelly family's Irish ancestry, but the instrument isn't over used which was a sensible decision from Badelt. 'The Light' is a more upbeat piece which again uses the irish pipes in a very uplifting cue, and 'Julia' isn't the sweet feminine theme you'd usually associate with similarly titled pieces. The sense of foreboding picks up here as the orchestra builds on the theme set up in the previous piece.
'Stringybark Creek' features the solo trumpet and flute amongst the orchestra for a slower interpretation of the two main themes at the beginning of the disc, while 'Back Home' features more of the irish pipe from 'Destiny' and some short violin passages before it drops to a solo trumpet passage and the first of the real action cues from the film.
'Moreton Bay' is the second track offered by Bernard Fanning, and this is the only really dissapoint piece on the album. It is a reworking of a traditional Australian folk song and while the style has it's place some scenes of the film, it is totally out of context on this CD, especially in the middle of the disc. Bernard Fanning also probably wasn't the best choise either, but he is Austraian, and lends that particular quality to his viocal performance. This is where the album lost half a star for me.
From this point on, the situation the Kelly Gang finds themselves in is growing darker, and the score reflects this change by turning some of the themes upside down and. There is still that bittersweet theme running through out, but it is perhaps more accuate now as Ned realises that what he has done, even if he didn't want to or was forced todo it, is going to have consequences he can't escape. 'Doomed' and 'Outlaws' nicely capture the gang on the run and trying to find a way out as the law gets closer and closer to them.
'The Jerilderie Letter' is the scene in the bank where the hostage are offering up names to call the governer. It begins lightheartedly, but as Ned's speech get progressivly more serious, the tone of the music matches and the piece ends on a sharp rise.
'Father' is simply a short piece of reflection and quite before the storm of 'The Glenrowan Inn'. The piece charts the whole end scene from the gang arriving at the inn and anxiously waiting for the poilce, to the shoot out itself, and then the aftermath the next morning and Ned makes his last stand and is finally captured. Again, this piece is another watery-eyed experience for me. The album ends with 'Remembering Ned Kelly' which is a simple two minute solo from the viola. Again just a very retospective piece.
This is a highlight of Badelt's career so far and it's a pity the CD isn't more readily available. It sounds so much like him, yet at the same time is something very different. This is highly recommended even if you didn't like the movie.

Pretty Good.......2003-02-17
The track listing on these CDs is very good, especially How U Like Bass and If You Wanna. Alot of the other songs aren't as pumping as you would expect but definately worth your money!
The best you can buy.......2002-04-24
I have bought more Ibiza, Trance and Chillout CDs than I should be able to afford and I can honestly say that this tough to find mix is the best all around mix out there (and for an excellent price). Highlights of this album for me include the mezmorizing "Jamnesia" (The best trance/chillout track I have ever heard) and Paul Van Dyk's usual excellence. I definetly recommend these CDs to someone who wants the best mix of Ibiza that contains all types of music from trance to house to chillout.

Customer Reviews:
Great Chillout CD Package.......2006-06-01
This set of 6 CD's (as expected) starts out slow and gradually builds to a crescendo, eventually coming back down to earth. If you're looking to "chillout" after a long day, this set will certainly fit the bill. Nice mix of tunes, very little in the way of vocals, which is how it should be to relax the mind and comfort the soul.
quality over quantity!.......2005-09-05
I'm normally totally into chillout mixes and with 6 CD's I was sure I would find somethin to my liking... 6 CD's later I had yet to find it. The problem being that all the songs are all so similar!!!! This album was a BIG 6 CD disappointment, not recomended.
Strike 6. You're Out!.......2004-09-17
How ironic that probably the quickest review I'll have done in months is on a release with 6 cd's! This is a colossal compilation of 6 'chillout' cds by the Decadance label.
The good? 6 discs! They're bound to get SOMETHING right with all of the room for error, right? And they do have some good tunes and artists. Even Da Lata has an appearance, along with Koop, Bent and a few others. But it's not entirely chillout as it has some popular trance cuts from 2001-2002... and maybe 1998 with Energy 52, iio, etc. The bad? You could put all of the best songs onto one disc and still have room to spare, let alone fill up five more perfectly fine empty discs with rubbish and mind-numbingly dull & uninspired tracks. I don't know what's more amazing; that someone could make a chillout series of 6 discs yet get it so horribly wrong... Or that the cover art is equally original since its the same as a Nu-Bossa compilation, but from a different angle (see "Brazil Remixed").
Can't recommend this. There are far better chill-out comps. If you want cookie cutter, go for the Ultra series. You want flair, go for Wagram (Costes, Des Pres Cafe, London/Paris/Berlin/NY Lounge). You want plain old chill, spend the bucks for Hedkandi's winter chill and serve chilled & check out The Chillout Room/Chill out Album. But this... best left for target practice. "Pull!"
Beware! 95% of songs sound identical, boring, etc..........2004-09-01
I love Chill compilations and have all the Chillout volumes 1-4 as well as Chillout 2001 thru 2005. This 6 CD set was a very big dissapointment, and I'm easy to please. Even if I find one or two songs I love on 6 CD's, it would have been worth it, as I love music. Out of 6 CD's, all the songs sound almost identical and 'do not go anywhere'. A cool intro beat and groove starts.... and then nothing! *ALL* the songs on this disc, except for two songs (which are only OK and I already have) have this decent intro, then just keep playing the into section over and over... you keep waiting for some really interesting continuation of the intro music, but it never happens! I do not recommend this compilation. To put it more clearly, I am always looking for more music to add to my J RIVERS MEDIA Computer software using lossless compression, but NONE of these songs are going to be used. Sorry, but this purchase was a complete waste for me...
Some really nice tracks on this one and a bargin buy.......2004-05-31
There are some nice tracks on this set, it is a bit annoying that each CD has only 10 (when they could have fit 15 or 20) songs on it but if you rip them to MP3 then no problem. What I did is went through the entire set and took my most liked songs out and made a single CD with those songs on it but I also listen to the whole thing every now and again. Some of the good tracks are Private Road, Rapture, and my favorite of the set Gettin' in 2 U. This is a good value. Also recommend the Ministry of Sound chillout CDs as well as Cafe Del Mar series (esp 5, 6 & 7).

Customer Reviews:
A journey through a nightclubbers world..........2005-06-24
This box set of great cd's takes you through a modern, european experience of clubbing, each cd has a distinctly different feel, from the rocky, groovy tunes of cd1 "The Main Room", to the smoky, jazzy beats of cd2 "The Back Room" on to the chilled, twinkling, peaceful plodding of the final cd, "The Terrace". An interesting and pleasant album which represents current musical trends well and presents the listener with a wide range of artists and musical genres. Will also become an intersting peice of musical history in time.
Decadent Listening.......2002-04-01
Decadance Cafe Ibiza contains three cd's (The Main Room, The Back Room, and The Terrace) each becoming progressively more chilled than the first. Each cd is a mix of deep, but not hard, house that is perfect for background music at a party or just to relax to. It is more upbeat and more full of bass than other chillout albums, such as the @Home collection. The good thing about this album is the variety of sounds on each cd. There is a jazzy song with piano and guitar, some with soothing vocals, and others you might here in a dance club, all on the same cd! Overall an extremely pleasant listening experience.
