        This is for those who love Brazilian music and it's all sung in Portuguese. Gal Costa and Maria Bethania were the lead singers from Tropicalia, the cultural movement leaded by composer and singer Caetano Veloso. Both singers are on her best recordings on Polygram Records. It's an interesting choice for those who only want to have a low-cost album on both singers. Also interesting for comparison reasons. You'll discover they are quite different singers with such different approaches to singing and to repertoire choice. While Gal Costa intends to set herself as a technical cool singer, Maria Bethania is strongly pure emotion what compensates her limited voice.
