This album has seven songs total on it, six remixes, and it's all good! Each track stands alone as being a great one. If you like the original Castles In The Sky song, and are curious to hear what else they can do with it, definitely pick up this album, and you will see how good it is.

Well, I was listening to my techno hame radio station. I heard DJ Tony B announcing that there was a new song by Ian Van Dahl and some girl named Marsha. I listened to the song. I LOVED IT!! If you absolutly love techno/dance, you'd like this CD a whole LOT. My favorite tracks were numbers 1,2,4,and 6. If you are a fan of Lasgo, DJ Encore, DJ Sammy, or Louie DeVito, you'll like these songs....

This one is a Trance or Techno classic it has a beautiful instrmentals some of the best ever and of course has some great vocals this is one of the best songs since 2001 I mean Top 10 this single is definantly superb you should not miss.

Castles in the Sky is Awesome!.......2003-03-23

...I immediatly fell in love with the fast beat and beautiful vocals. The rhythm of the fast techno sound went well with the characters moving along the screen. Once the vocals were sung, Seto Kiaba's adorable face had so much emotion when he was fighting with Pegasus. The music video is awesome and also the song is too. I immediatly had to get it... Awesome beats and Incredible vocals and lyrics. Ian Van Dahl ROCKS!

I must admit,this review is of both the CD and the accompanying book of transcriptions. The selection is quite unique, ranging from the renaissance lute manuscripts of Scotland purely traditional (and much more recent-most of the jigs, reels, and airs of today's Celtic music might sound primal, but they date from the late 1700's-early 1800's)tunes such as 'The Butterfly'. Most of the work-about three quarters-is taken from the work of 17th century blind Irish harpist Turlough O'Carolan. O'Carolan's work has a distinctive sound for the most part, equal parts baroque and Irish folk, with a few songs leaning strongly one way or the other. So be warned, this is NOT the Celtic music you would hear from traditional groups such as the Cheiftains or Altan, nor is it classical or baroque in the style prefered by Bream or Williams. It is instead a blend of, to me, the best of both genres, combining the sophistication and delicacy of early classical music with the haunting soulfulness of Celtic music. It is also a glimpse at the earliest known examples of music from Scotland and Ireland, predating the dance numbers that are recorded more today.

As a guitarist, I thoroughly enjoyed working through the book. The selections are all beautiful and impressive to hear, yet many are very, very easy to perform. Most of my playing has been acoustic rock and folk with a flatpick, so I was very pleasantly suprised to find that some of my favorite pieces from the recording were not only within my grasp (after a reasonable amount of practice!) but even primer-like, the notes by the author making each song learned a lesson in technique. The transcriptions are also in tab, which is a big plus for me and I'm sure many others. It IS good to be able to read music, I suppose (I can decipher, myself, but not sight read), but standard notation was not designed for fretted instruments, and anyway, tab was always traditionally used lutes by composers such as J S Bach, anyway, so can even be considered more 'correct' for the guitar. Just be aware that the tunes here are more archaic than what is normally heard. Tony McManus wannabes will have to go elsewhere, I'm afraid.

An incredible recording. The music is rhythmic and driving. The arrangements and original compositions are exciting. This is something for lovers of Celtic music who want some originality while still enjoying the classic celtic melodies.

A long-lost "Sweet Soul" classic finally on CD........2006-09-09

The Futures were one of the most criminally underrated soul harmony vocal groups of the 1970s. Despite the greatness of their recordings, they failed to make it big. This 1975 release is deservedly viewed as a classic "Sweet Soul" album today although it went nowhere when originally released. Highly recommended.

IN THE BEGINNING:.......2006-06-21

This is first album by the Futures. I Played it until you can only here the grooves. So it was a pleasure to find it on Amazon.com. The songs: I Had A Dream. Love Lives On a Windy Hill. 90 Days. are all fantastic. The Futures started with a couple of singles before this album was made. The producers and writers on the album also wrote Don't Let The Green Grass Fool You a hit for Wilson Pickett. For the Futures. A great beginning.

Ian Van Dahl has a smash-hit dance track here! If you don't have this yet, then what the heck are you waiting for? It just doesn't get any better than this. This single is well worth whatever it may cost you. The "Peter Luts" remixes are the standouts. His "Club Remix" lasts over 7 minutes. Truly Awesome! Track 4 is instrumental, and would be cool to add some lyrics over, if you are a DJ. Also, if you are from my area check-out DJ Acid's CD "Phiya" which features the "D-Eternal Remix"(which is also outstanding) of this song. If you liked my review, then don't forget to vote. THANKS!

Dreaming of castles.......2001-09-07

I got home from a rather UGH!! day at work. I dialed in to get my messages, and amoung them was this song. I smiled and teh next thing I knew I was callingup my buddy top see what it was. We have this habbit of leaving new music as messages for each other on the answering machine. Needless to say it was Castles In The Sky by Ian Van Dahl. He had down loaded it off napster. This was was before it was ever released, and finally, I can have it on CD! This song just gives me the chills!!!! It is TRANCY and Melodic and INTENSLY DREAMY. Put this on, close your eyes and let the music and vocals take you on a magical trip....Castles In The Sky!
