Customer Reviews:
What a poor selection.......2004-01-06
This selection as so many compilations are just not worth the money. But let's start first with the good: the CD 1 contains pretty much all of the greatest hits. CD 2 contains few more hits plus many remixes (from the CD "20th Century Hits" which badly flopped) which clearly can't stand the comparison with the originals. Further there are as well some B-sides (New York City & Strange) which are for the first time released on CD/album. The record company knew why! The hammer is the title "Papa Chico" - one of the worst if not the worst single release of Boney M. ever.. which flopped, no wonder, terribly. So I ask myself: WHY THIS? Why not a putting a compilation together with the big hits and some of the finest tracks that Boney M did like "Never Change Lovers.." "Boonoonoonoos, or "Still I'm Sad". That would have been a great showcase for this legendary group and its fantastic and diverse music. So this is only for fans who want some stuff on CD. What a missed chance.
25 Jaar THE BEST DISCO MUSIC IN TOWN.......2002-02-08
Absolutely the best compilation ever, these two guys of the Liz Mitchell Fanclub (The Leadsinger Of Boney M. !!!) did a great job together with BMG Holland and Frank Farian the producer and male vocalist ! These CD is worth the buy, with exclusive remixes and unreleased tracks.
Great, when is the release of Volume 2 ?
Well Done, Well Done........2001-02-21
This C.D contained a lot of the songs that I had been looking for, for years...and NOW I have them. Thanks to Amazon.com, I truly believe I can find anything I need on here!! The music brings back memories of dances that were held back in the islands, and has that nice disco beat, and also a nice carribean beat as well. The only dissappointment that I had though, was that it didnt have the one song I truly was looking for. That song is "Brown Girl in the Ring - remix". I know that this C.D has a remixed version of the song, but it wasnt the one I needed. The one I needed has like a reggae singer rapping, and Boney M sings the chorus and background. If anyone knows what Im talking about, and knows where I could get that version from, I would greatly appreciate it. Other than that, the Songs were Wonderful, and I dont regret it at all that I bought it...Every Cent was WORTH it!!
