When it comes to being a skinny, big-smiling teen-ager who can whip pop music fans into a frenzy with a mere toss of his excellent curls, let's face it: Corbin Bleu has competition. If Bleu is not the only TV-launched singer to revitalize both leave-in conditioner sales and puppy love in 2007, though, he is the only one with a shot at being taken seriously by critics. Another Side, his first album post-High School Musical and Jump In!, the Disney Channel movies that made a household name out of him (at least in households inhabited by 8- to 15-year-olds), is pretty much what you'd expect--a high-energy hybrid of pop, R&B, and hip-hop. Consider "Push It to the Limit," the song that propelled the Jump In! soundtrack and closes this disc, an on-ramp to the bubbly Bleu sound. Don't discount what separates him from the pack of post-Disney Channel singers wishing upon stars for pop-chart domination, though. His vocals, a pleasing mash of Michael Jackson and Jesse McCartney, make him a contender for a long-term career in music. --Tammy La Gorce

His album might not be the best. But...he is a really nice person. And I love "Marchin'", also "P.I.T.T.L.", and "Deal With It". His album could have used some more work, but whatever. I would have the album if someone gave it to me for free, I dont think I would ever buy it.

If you love High School Musical you would need to get this album. I love the deut with him and Vanessa it is such a beautiful song. Its worth buying because of that song. There's also "Push It To The Limit".

Corbin's CD is awesome! There are the slower songs for relaxing, and the energetic songs that you can't help but dance to, like "We come to Party", one of my favorites. Many have pointed out that he has a high pitched voice. Yes, he does, in some parts, but there's nothing wrong with that! And maybe some say it's unoriginal, but it's kinda hard to be totally original with the trillions of sogs that are out there.
This CD is amazing with something for everyone. It's definitley a good buy!

If you already own the High School Musical soundtrack, this live version may be a bit redundant; on the other hand, many of us just can't get enough of these songs, and it's fun to hear the stars of the movie perform them with live energy against a background of screaming fans--who occasionally sing along at the top of their lungs, as on "Breaking Free." The biggest change is that Zac Efron (Troy) didn't participate and was replaced by Drew Seeley. But Seeley acquits himself well of the task, particularly on his two big duets with Vanessa Hudgens, "What I've Been Looking For" and "Breaking Free." The former, as fans of the movie know, gets repeated in a super-poppy version sung by Lucas Grabeel (Ryan) and Ashley Tisdale (Sharpay), the kind of energetic performers who so often steal the spotlight from the nominal stars. Those fans of High School Musical-If you remember the old Mickey Rooney & Judy Garland (KIDS LETS PUT ON A SHOW) movies, it is similar in vein..has taken the High School Musiacalmovie one step farther than the film did, The Concert.

Lets say it this way, ITS great entertainment!if you have not gone, go to the show. I wanted to go with my nieces and could not. I did viuw the concert DVD and I was Hooked. Note you do not need to see the movie to enjoy this show

These young preformers (all from the cast of HSM) put on a show that capture the spirit of the movie..thanks to their talent and the magic of Disney. It is great family entertainment, which many have gone away from.

The soundtrack recording is a live version of the show and allows the CD audience a chance to relive the moments and groove with it again. Long after the stage show is a memory. This could play on Broadway for the closing Disney Beauty and Beast

and on disk two is a 5 cut DVD on the concert to enjoy, Is it worth it. Well its NO Mickey and Judy, but it works as great fun-so listen and watch the magic with your kids, relations and others who are tween aged

It's so nice to finally hear the true voices of High School Musical without studio interference. I was lucky enough to see the tour, and this cd confirms one thing: that Zac Efron did very little singing on the original soundtrack. Drew Seeley sounds exactly like the voice on the origianl cd, and I am glad that he is finally getting the chance to show who was really behind the voice in the original movie. Everyone else sounds great too, the audience is having an amazing time, and there are some new arrangements. All fans of HSM should buy this without question.

5 out of 5 stars If You Didn't See the Concert..........2007-05-05

Then buy this CD/DVD!! I'm one of the (probably few) people who was not able to see the HSM concert when it came to the city closest to me. I heard that there was going to be a DVD of the concert coming out so naturally I went to Amazon when I learned it was finally available to pre-order (of course now you can simply buy this CD!).

I received it in the mail on May 1st (the day it came out) and listened to it -- all I can say is WOW. The energy in the audience really made the performers shine! Listening to the songs performed live was awesome and I could tell that much of their energy was fueled by the audience! I really liked that they included Push It To The Limit (Corbin Bleu), Say Ok (Vanessa Hudgens), Dance With Me (Drew Seeley), and We'll Be Together (Ashley Tisdale) on the CD. The songs from HSM are in a different order than they were in the movie, but that's what makes this concert so great.

Then there's the 2nd disc which is the highlights DVD of the actual DVD that will be coming out in June. I watched that as well and it was great! It left me wanting to see more. I have already pre-ordered the DVD. I really loved seeing the stars perform live; there's such a difference between the movie and the concert. The only thing I would have liked to see on the highlights DVD would be at least one or two of the songs that Corbin, Ashley, Drew, and Vanessa sang (preferrably Dance With Me). But hey, I'm sure it will be on the DVD.

I think my favorite feature on the 2nd disc were the cast interviews. You got to get a glimpse of what they did backstage before each show and insight on what each performer felt about the tour.

If you're a fan of High School Musical and didn't see the concert ... or if you did see the concert and want to see it again (or in this case, listen to it again and watch a little bit of it), then I highly recommend purchasing this! You will not be disappointed.

        It takes spades of talent to create music as beautiful as this without the aid of layered mixing, over-hyped production and in Miles' case, even lyrics. Even if you're not a big surf fan, but are looking for a rage-dump disc, this is it! If you happen to love surf to begin with, you will be pleasently surprised. Although, I do want to mention that this is not a full-blooded surf album. It is mainly sparkling reverb with occasional acoustic amid a tapestry of soft bongo-like percussion. No one plays as clean or precisely as Miles. His songwriting capabilities are the real treat here though. Haunting, dramatic but always relaxing, it dosen't get more mellow or exotic than this.

        I own all of the Aqua Velvet's discs. This is by far Miles' best work. Melodies are stronger and more upbeat but still have that signature Aqua Velvet vibe that invokes daydreaming and chillin' out. I play this everytime I have friends over and they all have loved it and bought it themselves.

        I love this album! It takes me back to the islands, basking in the sun, sipping a mai tai, w/ some local cats playing under the palapa. I'm a big fan of the Aqua Velvets, and Miles playing is stunninly gorgeous on this cd as well.

          Vanessa Hudgens rocked as the brainy Gabriella Montez in the smash-hit DCOM High School Musical and now she has her own album called V. She's basically here becuz of High School Musical.
          Vanessa Hudgen's album rox, too. There is one song called Let Go where she takes a devilish approach. She curses. I can't believe people think she has to be a Disney Angel. C'mon, da gurl is 18 years-old. She's not-so-Disney Angelic Disney puts her out to be. And besides, she didn't even write the song!
          Here are my reviews of the songs:

          1. Come Back to Me by: Vanessa Hudgens- Sung like a true smash-hit song. Vanessa Hudgens really rox!!
          2. Let Go- She takes a devilish approach, but she sings beautifully!!
          3. Say OK- Girls can definitely relate to this song.

          I was sitting here at work and Lord, I hope your day is good was going thru my mind. I went onto Google and typed in Cobin/Hanner and up they came. I was so excited to see they still had music for sale on [amazon.com] so I quickly ordered Silver Eagle Cross Country Presents Live....I listened to the Work Song, and of course Lord I hope your day is good. The gal I work with more than likely thought I was nuts but I did not care. We followed them all over back in New Bethlehem PA (17 mile from Ford City) and knew all the words, etc....they are actually who turned me into a country music lover. I just can not wait to get the CD and relive their music. I agree that the other artists sing the songs really good, but none as good as Corbin/Hanner. I will be a fan for a long time to come. Keep singing and playing! Your music is true....

          "Poncho" is a heart wrenching ballad about changing friendships, one that is still requested at all of their live concerts. And their version of Dave Hanner's "Lord, I Hope...." rivals Don Williams' version any day. (Soon to be recorded by Ann Murray.) Their "Work Song" is a classic, and I still enjoy Corbin's "Wings of my Victory" which I used to love in the '80's. These singer songwriters are still actively writing and performing and still draw huge crowds of old (some of us graying) and new fans. Other albums include "Just Another Hill", "Black and White Photograph", "Every Stranger Has a Story", and "By Request", which is superlative. Bob Corbin and Dave Hanner continue to have their material recorded by other artists - look for their names every now and then in songwriter credits. These guys are guaranteed to please, and those of us lucky enough to see them often never tire of them.

          I listened to these guys many times when they were known as Gravel years ago at a local bar! Their music is great. I had their albumsFor the Sake of the Song & Son of America & lost them in a flood - what a loss! Very talented guys! Don Williams recorded Lord I Hope This Day is Good & Oak Ridge Boys did Beautiful You~course I like their original versoins better!!!!!!!!

          Corbin-Hanner Band is one of the best all time country-rock bands that I have had the pleasure of listening to. I have all recordings and this one is tops.

          Heads up to anyone ordering this CD. I got this as a gift, but the sealed jewel case was MISSING its CD. When contacted, Amazon sent a replacement immediately, but it was also MISSING its CD. I have to return both empty cases before Amazon will even process a refund. Now, I am a big fan of Miles Corbin, and the audio files sound great, so I rated the music as fairly as I could, but I had to post this negative review as a service to others. Buyer beware!

          This CD is perfect for relaxing. I like listening to it while I am sitting in traffic on the way to and from work.

          It reminds me of sitting on the beach, feeling the breeze and the warm sun as the waves break.... man I need a vacation.

          I have been a fan of the Aqua Velvets for many, years and enjoyed Miles first solo release Sounds from the Tiki Hut as well. this new cd from Miles is amazing! the music truly takes you on an exotic journey to faraway jungles and beaches, away from the madnes of the world!! Bravo.
