If you are into hi-nrg euro-trash then you need to go to school, I recommend you start at an academy, specifically Academy Street Records. One thing I've learned at the Academy is that you can count on the headmasters at Academy Street Records to deliver pumpin' kickin' and sizzlin' electro euro-nrg. From Academy Street comes "NRG XS 4". One word describes this 30 song killer compilation, PUMPIN'! NX4 is chocked full of dance hits like "Dance Yourself Dizzy" by Kelly Marie and dance superstars like Hazell Dean, Morgana and Killer Shadows. With 30 hot tracks I can't comment on them all, but I will touch on a few. Dancing queen Hazell Dean serves up her ballistic version of Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer". Hazell as always is in top form and the music beats you to a heavenly pulp. That saucy raven tressed Italo girl Morgana is back with "Never Gonna Make". This is Morgana's best song yet, the synthesizer riffs are absolutely incredible, it's like having 1000 volts of electricity injected into your brain, look for a full length CD by Morgana around July 2001. I can't even begin to describe England's own A-Tension's "China in Your Hands". There are about three points within the song where you are fooled into believing that the tune has come to an end, then it kicks up again. It's an incredible reworking of the Tpau classic and the synths sizzle. I hate to say this, but Massive Ego's version of "Planet Earth" is better than the original by the first (and original) boy band Duran Duran. Massive ego pumps it up a bit and adds a new frenetic nrg to it, yet it remains faithful to the original....and if you close your eyes while listening to it you can still see Roger Taylor lying there in his BVDs in the DD's Planet Earth video. Other hot and noteworthy tracks on NRG XS 4 include "Boogie Oogie Oogie" by 3 Girlz, "Don't You Want Me Baby" by Killer Shadows and "Do You Wanna Funk" by Bunch. If you love NX4, I suggest you register to take the classes "NRG XS 2", "NRG XS 5", "The Very Best of NRG XS" and "Ibiza NRG". If you are an NRG purist then you need to be checking out the products from the premiere school of dance, Academy Street Records. Remember if the Academy Street blackboard is not stamped on your euro-nrg you are not receiving a quality education..........class dismissed.
