It's a great song, and the remixes are superb! Check it out on Itunes!
I recommend these two mixes:

Great trance track? Yes! Mind-blowing? Not so much........2006-01-09
I will happily and readily agree with the other reviewers here that this is a great vocal trance song. Definitely one of the better that I have heard. I am a little mystified, however, by HOW enthusiastic others are about this track.
I recently downloaded the seven track/remix maxi-single of this song from iTunes after reading the incredibly effusive reviews of this song here as well as on iTunes. I must admit that while I was satified with my purchase, I was a tad bit let down. After reading these reviews, I was expecting to be knocked back on my heels. I did indeed love the music as well the vocals, but I didn't find either to be incredibly unlike any track pulled at random from any 4 Strings or Ian Van Dahl album. That is not a bad thing at all, mind you, as I love both 4 Strings and Ian Van Dahl, but I was expecting something completely out of the ordinary here and it just didn't deliver that for me. To be fair, I believe that my assessment may be due to the fact that I am so late in coming to this. If I had heard this years ago when it first came out, I think that I would have been much more impressed. In today's trance soundscrape, however, this isn't anything monumental.
"As the Rush Comes" is certainly a solid addition to your music collection, and I would definitely recommend it to any vocal trance fan, just with tempered enthusiasm.
Excellent vocal trance.......2005-11-25
The first time I ever heard this track, I was completely blown away. I would put this as one of favorite trance songs along with other various songs by the 4 Strings. As already stated, this song is bound to get stuck in your head. It sure got stuck in mine. The mysterious vocals were amazing and they did an excellent job with the background beats. I would also recommend this song (and the remixes), if you are trying to introduce someone to the sound of vocal trance. They are bound to like it which probably means they will look into this type of music in the future. The only part I wasn't too fond of was the end where she gets louder and louder while singing the refrain. Other than that, this is an excellent song. This song is a must at a dance party and it is sad that this song has not had as much success as it deserves.
I still play this in my PSP! One of the coolest hits in years! 2004-.......2005-10-08
Oh man! I can't speak!--The hit was so cool! (As The Rush comes ) was so hott!--in 2004 hope they do another one like this in 2006!--Motorcycle: --> ( ^ ^ ) buy it before it disappears forever!
This Song Is Amazing!.......2005-08-04
The cream of the crop here folks, this song rules. But remember to buy this one, and not the one with the white cross on it with a blue background because it is a different and lesser version of this song. I made that mistake. Hopefully you won't.

Album Description
Ed Rush & Optical are two of the best known DJ/producers in the drum `n' bass, and dance music scene. Before the two created the now legendary Virus label, they had already made quite a name for themselves - while Optical was engineering for Grooverider, Goldie, and Jumping Jack Frost, Ed Rush was releasing materials for seminal labels such as No-U-Turn and Prototype.
They have DJ'd in virtually every corner of the globe, and done remixes for top producers like Josh Wink, Reprazent, and most recently Candi Staton's "You've Got the Love," the song that was featured on HBO's hit series Sex and the City. They've also appeared on many of the biggest drum `n' bass labels including Prototype, V Recordings and the legendary Metalheadz. Their first artist album Wormhole is widely regarded as the best drum `n' bass album of all time.
For Out of The Box, Ed Rush & Optical have put together a killer selection of dance floor hits from the genre - featuring heavyweight tracks from Dillinja, J Majik, SS and many more. Bonus DVD features a documentary about the artists, including tour diary footage, exclusively shot DJ sets at WMC 2004, Toronto, and Switzerland, numerous special in-depth interviews, a special 10-minute clip with production tips, also brief interviews with Andy C, Red One, and Fierce talking about the impact of Ed Rush & Optical on the drum `n' bass scene.

This is an awesome Drum n Bass Cd. Any true DnB lover will appreciate it because it's a dark dnb but in a ed rush and optical way. They put there own sound into what they put out. This is different from a lot of other dnb out. Get this cd.

On Rush, Finland's Ville Virtanen, better known as Darude, has kept his shiny techno sound intact, hoping to duplicate the success of the monstrous singles "Sandstorm" and "Feel That Beat" from 2001's Before the Storm. Rush may not reach that standard of dance floor nirvana, but the record is impeccably produced, with positive energy and shuddering thumps to spare. It's also exceedingly brainless, forgetting to mix up its sound and rhythms enough to produce the variety necessary for Darude's production mix to really take off. Actually, "mix" isn't even accurate, as it implies a record with some flow and purpose. None of these complaints matter when Darude is on, like when he gets a little dark on "Serendipity," then turns around and goes Ibiza for "Healing." A little more cohesion and a little less filler, however, could have turned this record into more than just a launching point for remixes that other DJs will use to far greater effect. --Matthew Cooke
Album Description

Darude kicks a**.......2005-11-06
This album rocks. Music(original) alone is good enough to buy this album. All the songs are different. I liked all of them except for Ranta. Music and Burning are my favourite though. Although he is not as big as Tiesto or PVD but has lots of talent.
My favorite Trance artist!.......2005-06-05
I don't care what others say about him or his music. Ville makes some of the best music in Trance because he is different. I hear a lot of people put down 'Before The Storm' (Especially from other FINNS, which is sad) because of the overuse of the 'alert' siren he sampled heavily. Well, this is typical of this type of music. In fact, it is typical of most music to sample something heavily since most of your music should resemble the same feeling of the #1 tracks. This guy made his music known from small little Finland, a country of only 5 million people. Most surprisingly, most of my Finnish friends say Finns do not like him as much as Americans, Australians or Britons. That's gratitude for you.
Either way, this is the CD to get if you like Trance and Darude in particular. I bought it, I liked it and he is my favorite Trance/Electronica artist no matter what others say about him, his music, 'Before The Storm' or 'Rush'.
Kittos paljon Herra Ville "Darude" Virtanen, Jaakko "JS16" Salovaara ja Heikki "Bostik" Liimatainen! Kippis ystävyys!
Darude - The God of Trance.......2004-10-27
People who say that Darude's first album - "Before the Storm" is better than this have no clue what they are talking about. In "Rush", he avoids the monotonous feeling that "Before the Storm" had due to very similar beats in most of the songs and an obsession with his "Sandstorm" synth, which he uses in about every other song. In "Rush" Darude shows his true talent for composing uplifting trance music with outstanding melodies like in "Bitter Sweet", "Rush", and "Passing By" along with much cleaner, crisper beats than many other Dance CDs. Also, I have always disliked lyrical trance and it is becoming harder and harder these days to come by an album with mostly non-lyrical songs - many great artists are veering towards the more cheesy lyrical trance (Blank & Jones, Paul van Dyk) but Darude manages a whole album with just one lyrical song (2 mixes of it). Best. Trance. Album. Ever. If you like Darude, check out some music by "Ignite" at http://www.ampcast.com/ignite
Just as good as his previous album.......2004-06-16
Darude can really throw down some trane mixes. Love his his balance of melodic and hard beat style.
My favorite track is track #8 titled "Passing By". It is good driving music and I love that nice little flute(or keyboard) sound in the song.

Haunting & fantastic trance.......2004-10-01
I usually do not write reviews but this time must tell that this import is worth every penny. Fantastic all in all.. Disc #1 is perfect all 12 tracks are fabulous. Disc # 2 also and has the dvd.
Great music. I was in pretty "blue" mood and listened a whole afternoon to # 1 with headphones and my spirit is high and bright.A must have for your own benefit and mental health :-)) smiles. Buy it soon and listen all day long.
The definitive version of 'Rush'.......2004-01-21
With the release of his second album, Darude (Ville Virtanen) was able to branch out of his 'sandstorm' stage and reach out into new territory. The first single (which happens to be the first track on the album) "Music" (3:30) is remixed by Bostik to create an awesome trance pop single. The second single "Next To You" (3:56) is supposedly remixed in radio edit form, but doesn't seem to change much from it's original 12" vocal mix, other than that this and the first single turn out to be great singles that bare little resemblance to the aformentioned 'Sandstorm'. Other standout tracks include: "Passing By" (5:50), "Bitter Sweet" (6:56) , "Rush" (6:14) and "Healing" (6:56). All of the other tracks are good as well. In addition to the main CD of ten tracks you also get the original 12" versions of "Music" (7:17) and "Next To You" (7:35), and you get an additional CD which features 7 mixes of tracks from Darude's first LP "Before The Storm" and a brand new remix of "Music" (6:09) by Megara Vs DJ Lee. On the second CD you also get ALL of Darude's music videos. Which include: "Sandstorm" (3:44), "Feel The Beat" (4:12), "Out Of Control" (3:42), "Music" (3:47), and "Next To You" (3:58). Overall, this is the best version of Darude's second album you can get. If you don't mind paying a bit extra for this version than go ahead and buy it!

Great Techstep album.......2007-02-06
This is my first Ed Rush/Optical CD (I'm relatively new to the Drum N Bass scene), But given the quality of the tracks on Chameleon, I can't wait for the next album. It might be a bit heavy for people really new to DnB, but if you like a good techstep, neurofunk and even a bit of jazzstep in your listening queue, you cant go wrong with this one! The sweet drum n bassed version of Weezer's "hashpipe" (Bloodmoney) is easily one of the most high energy tracks on the album!

www.undressmerobot.com review.......2006-06-22
The Swedish and their electronica, yeesh.
Having not heard Jay Jay Johanson before this album, I was surprised to see his extensive discography listed on amazon.com, and that his earliest CD was realeased in 1998. Being a fan of Royksopp's quirky Swedish electronica, it would seem fitting for me to have already known of this similar Swedish electronic music, but for whatever reason this was not the case.
Anyway, giving Rush a listen, I was able to make comparisons to Royksopp, Annie, Daft Punk, Phoenix, and others of the same vein. This is a great genre to be in, and after so many albums Jay Jay should have a specific electronica/dance style of his own. Unfortunately, it's hard for me to separate him from the rest of these bands.
Not knowing much about what his earlier releases are like (except that Poison from 2000 is very Portishead-like and one of the songs, "Suffering," is on the Queer As Folk soundtrack), I can't make a true judgement about the way Jay Jay's music evolved, or say that he's copying all those artists when the case may be that he is their influence. What I'll do instead is compare Rushto all other current electronica releases. Doing that, I have to admit that I'd rather buy a Royksopp album than a Jay Jay Johanson album any day. It's true that Jay Jay's been around a bit longer, but Royksopp has accomplished much more on their 2005 release, The Understanding, than Jay Jay has on Rush.
With that said, Jay Jay's music really aint too bad. Songs like "Because of You" and "Mirror Man" are totally danceable and head bobbable. "Rock It" has a great melody and creates an unusually interesting atmosphere. But even with these glimmers of hope, I simply can't get passed the complete copy of Daft Punk's music in "Teachers."
Buy this album if you already love all those other artists mentioned above; Rush anything but terrible. But if you're a stranger to the genre (or loved that song in Lost in Translation that they danced to in the Japanese apartment before singing karaoke but never cared enough to find out who it was [Phoenix]), then buy Daft Punk, Phoenix, Annie, and Royksopp first.

Customer Reviews:
quality drum and bass.......2004-07-30
when Ed Rush and Optical released WORMHOLES in 1998 they were acclaimed as the best in the business, mixing dancefloor drum n'bass tracks from a tech step approach, yet with more soul and rhythm than many of their contemporaries. However, this 2000 release, THE CREEPS, did not have the same revolutionary sound, though good in it's own right. The sound was less adventurous and diverse. Many of the tracks sound too similar to each other, which is a week point for the album. Aside from that, this duo consist of two of dnb's most qualified producers. The follow up to this in 2003, THE ORIGINAL DOCTOR SHADE, is a return to form. The duo reminded us that they could make tracks that were intelligent in sound yet jumping, and that their tunes did not all sound the same.
More drum than Bass.......2001-12-18
Hmmm..a great disappointment. Far more lightweight drum than heavy bollock shaking Bass in a basically very overtly "techstep" and gutless CD.
Didn't deliver.......2001-10-29
The CD started well, a good attempt at mixing a MC with DJs onto a Drum & Bass CD. Why this doesn't occur more often within the Tekstep sub genre is beyong me (LTJ Buken and MC Conrad do it all the time within their sub genre).
Overall the tracks didn't stand out and the CD is just the same as any of the more recent (and superior) releases from the likes of Dieselboy, Bad Company, J Majik, Metalheadz, Total Science etc.
Didn't deliver on the whole.......2001-10-29

THIS JUNGLE HAS BEEN CHOPPED DOWN.......2001-10-11
This was an hyped up album, and i was expecting a hardcore jungle album but this is about as soft as it gets. It borders on club/ dance music. I also experienced similar problems with Dillinja and both Bad Company release's although they were much better than this commercial tripe.
If you want a decent jungle album, Ram Trilogy's molten beats goes someway to providing a decent album. Blackmarket's compilation and some 1.8.7 tunes are also good but avoid this if you want a hardcore jungle album. Buy if you want a soft-core uninspiring d&b album.
