5 out of 5 stars Heh.......2004-09-16

If anything, get this album for the intro track, "Doom". In case anybody hasn't noticed it yet, the song is a tribute to the ever-popular computer game of the same name. The fact is Manny himself sent a complimentary audio cassette single of the song to John Romero (when he still worked for id Software) back in 1995. When you think about it, it's amazing just how much of an impact a seemingly simple computer game can make on someone. Of course, DOOM was no ordinary game at the time of its release, and Manny obviously knew this, hence the song ;)

Oh, and for the record, many fansites of the game (DOOM) keep referring to this track as "Blood On The Walls", so if you run any of those sites and you're reading this right now, please do the rest of the community a favor and change the name ;)

5 out of 5 stars Perfect performance - must to have for Nazareth's fans.......2004-05-31

The ex-Nazareth guitarist Manny Charlton made great album. Some songs from Nazareth's "Snakes'n'Ladders" included in this album but like other versions that sound more heavy. All the songs in this album bring new and old sounds from Manny. Manny expressed him self making sound as he wanted. It's sad that none from songs from this album never translated on MTV or VH1. This is good rocking piece of the art. I f like Nazareth's music from late 70's or listen to hard rock, you'll enjoy this album.

5 out of 5 stars Cartoon Boyfriend.......2004-03-12

Cartoon Boyfriend's album is so eclectic, and they can't go wrong. The lyrics are hilarious and controversial and whole album is generally really entertaining. I've never seen the band live but I have seen Holly Wright..after all, he's my brother :)

5 out of 5 stars a bit odd but sure interesting.......2002-03-06

It's not your typical album, don't buy it if you're looking for mainstream music. Each song is different, there are a lot of styles and influences going on, but there really isn't one bad song on the album. Very glad I finally remembered to tack this on to an order!!!!

5 out of 5 stars New sound new style.......2001-02-16

Finally a band that doesn't sound like everybody else on the radio. At first I though this album was just entertaining, but then as I got more into the songs I discovered the controversial lyrics and a deeper reading of the songs. I like music that doesn't get redundant, and this album surely is the oposite. My favorite songs are the title track 2 hicks and a immigrant, friends in Low places (a cooler version than garth's) and Bulletproof. I hope these guys will come to my home town soon.

1 out of 5 stars Nipples-Cartoon Boyfriend.......2001-02-09

This album is not my taste. When I first heard the album I thought I was listening to the same song over and over again, because the songs all sound the same. The only song I like on the album is "Leather". I can really relate to that ONLY song. The others are like childs play, they may be about reality, but not every day life. I like albums that have experiences of every day life. This album is for the younger age, such as 12-15. YES...the lyrics are somewhat mature, but the album to me I would advise for a younger audience. I have seen them perform at local clubs, and their on-stage performances ROCK! I think they are hitting it big, but yes the album sucks. Many bands work only on stage and I think they are awesome on stage. I have been to about 6 of their gigs and I truly enjoy them.

5 out of 5 stars Bulletproof Nipples.......2000-07-28

Imagine being there when Nirvana, Pearl Jam, REM, or any alternative group was started. Well, when I listened to this album, I realized I was listening to a CD which no doubt will be a big hit.

Bulletproof, and Too Much bring back the days of Depeche Mode with a mix of REM, but Cartoon's sound adds some year 2000 influence with a mix of other disciplines. From Rap , Glam rock, to even country.....there is a mix of songs here. Even a ballad or two.

Give this one a listen........

If you Like TV In Flames you should check out Radio Active Acts. It's the Flames first album with a different bass player, on Warner Bros Records instead of Reprise. This guitarist is hands down one of the best around.

    Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Should have been on BAJFF!!!.......2004-11-27

Drool is a great song, but they should have saved it for Bread and Jam for Frances... It has the same feel, the same type of lyrics, and it would have made the CD SO much better. It's beyond me why they didn't put it on... but oh well. I'm glad I got to hear it, but I spent ten bucks just to hear one new song(and the Clown remix, which is fantastic). It's worth the money, but still...

5 out of 5 stars Great SBS remix.......2002-11-09

I'm a huge fan of SBS and can't get enough of their music. The remix of Clown plus soldier is more than enough for me to give this my thumbs up. The chances for Tina and Susan getting back together seems bleak but listening to this ablum was like hearing new material for me.

    5 out of 5 stars A good single? hrms/...........2000-06-14

Well without a doubt almost anything that the band puts out I will probably like. This single is of no exeption - The main reason i recomend (and own it) is for the remix of Clown. The other 2 songs on it make the cd alone worth having but the remix is a varied and darker then usual sound for the band. Also I recomend trying to find thier earlier single for Clown just for the remix done by Leatherstrip of the song. Haunting and better then the original version. Also included on that single is the song Night Shift that appeared on the tribute to Sioxsie & the banshees.

5 out of 5 stars *Drooling for Tina and Susan*.......2000-01-21

Drool is, without a doubt, one of my favorite songs by Switchblade Symphony. It is absolutely incredible. Tina's vocals and Susan's keyboarding skills all come together beautifully to make this piece of music extremely enchanting. I was also very impressed with the remix of Clown. I highly recommend this album to any Switchblade Symphony fan!

4 out of 5 stars This is my two cents worth...............1998-10-31

Drool is a very, shall we say, different song. Although its not great for dancing to, it sure makes for some interesting listening. Clown is as good as it ever was, and Soldiers is just the same as on Bread and Jam for Francis. In my humble opinion, its worth the $4.50 to get it.
