This unjustly forgotten masterpiece was in many ways the last great creative gasp for the late, great country songwriter-singer Roger Miller, who died in 1992. After he wrote countless country gems like "Invitation to the Blues," "King of the Road," and "Dang Me" during the 1950s and '60s, Miller's creative muse ran dry in the early 1970s. The drought continued until he made a remarkable comeback by penning the 20-song score and contributing vocals to the soundtrack of this 1985 Broadway adaptation of Mark Twain's literary classic. Big River still stands as a dazzling, heartwarming slice of musical Americana and the final crowning achievement in one of country music's most celebrated careers. --Bob Allen
Customer Reviews:
Wonderful.......2007-03-24
This is a very cute musical. Do not be fooled this is a mark twain book, not your Dr.Suess. So use caution and don't buy this unless you can listen to the quality of music and not nessicarily the lyrics. But I love the story and it is a great buy. But seeing it live is really good. I enjoyed it. The best song is the Royal Nonesuch.
Big River: The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn .......2007-03-10
This is one of the best musical i have heard. wide range of music plus some that you will want to sing everytime. This is a must get
AMERICAN GOLD.......2007-03-06
Many people probably only know Roger Miller from the somewhat goofy songs that he wrote, but he was truly a genius who wrote and performed a variety of songs. There is such a variety of songs here written in several different styles. Some of the serious songs are fully as good as the lighthearted songs. This truly does show what an amazing person Roger Miller was and his mastery of many different types and styles of music. After listening to the music, I would love to see a stage production of this, as I never have. There aren't many show albums that sound interesting enough to make you want to go see the play, but this one sure does. I guess the only disappointment is that Roger Miller doesn't perform any of the songs himself. Most of the songs are quite short (averaging probably around two minutes each), but much of Miller's output consisted of short songs. Perhaps it is because he could say more in two minutes that many song writer's could in four (or more). It's a shame that this hasn't become more well known and performed more often. Cats (for example) had a very long run and some people think it was awful.
Best Musical - 1985.......2006-12-29
Winner of the 1985 Tony for Best Musical, Roger Miller, best known for his sixties classic "King Of The Road", provides a fine score for this adaptation of Twain's "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn". The cast, led by Daniel Jenkins, Ron Richardson, John Goodman, Rene Auberjonois & Patti Cohenour, are terrific & have great voices to match.
While the score is not without its flaws, there are several excellent songs:
Waitin' For The Light To Shine
Guv'ment
Muddy Water
River In The Rain (my personal favorite)
Worlds Apart
You Oughta Be Here With Me
Leavin's Not The Only Way To Go
One of the Greats.......2006-12-24
This is simply one of the greatest musicals of our time by one of the best song writers,"The King of the Road," Roger Miller. So many wonderful songs will just leave you with a goofy smile on your face. ENJOY IT!!!

Very disappointing, considering what it could have been.......2007-04-20
Take a look at the running times:
Disc 1: 60 minutes
Disc 2: 50 minutes
Disc 3: 61 minutes
Disc 4: 58 minutes
What gives Silva? There is *MUCH* more John Williams in the silva screen back catalogue by the Prague Philharmonic than what is in this set, and thats not including their entire discs devoted to Star Wars Films, Indiana Jones Trilogy etc. Why isn't Hook "When You're Alone" included on Disc 2? There's room. Why isn't 1941 on Disc 1? There's room. Why isn't Earthquake on Disc 3? There's room. Why isn't Far and Away on disc 4? There's room. Where's the other ten minutes of the Rare Breed suite on disc 3? Why isn't Midway on disc 1? Where are the Land of the Giants, Time Tunnel and Lots In Space tv themes? Etc. Etc. Etc.
C'mon Silva, most of these 4 disc mega boxes released in the past few years are packed to the brim, but not this one, and with new recordings made after this was released (the terminal, munich, geisha, war of the worlds, star wars ep 3, harry potter 3), it only makes sense for a "re-do" in the next couple of years.
Further, with Silva releasing the 100 Greatest Film Themes on six discs in a couple of months, it's only a matter of time before we see the ultimate six disc john williams set.
This isn't a BAD set to own, but it could have been much better and when compared to the Jerry Goldsmith and John Barry sets in this same series, this one is a major letdown.
Always a pleaser.......2007-03-31
I listen to music all day with patients in my dental chair. This one is a winner with everyone. Patients always comment on how they recognize a song. Who doesn't love John Williams? His music transcends time.
JOHN WILLIAMS 40 Years of Film Music.......2007-01-10
This 4 cd pack is an anthology of all John Williams works. From his earlier works "The Poseidon Adventure" and "Jaws" right through "Indiana Jones" and the most recent"Star Wars" prequel movies are included. Williams work in thriller and horror are also included. If you are into soundtracks and love movie music this is an essential buy. The quality of the music is excellent. With ten or more tracks on each cd it's well worth the money.
Movie Music Magic & Memorabilia.......2006-12-13
This four CD set expands on the previously released John Williams Greatest Hits. It's a grand collection of nearly four hours of famous music scores from over forty years. There are many songs never before available in any collection. The short liner notes tell a great tale of musical movie history and include all of his numerous award nominations and wins. Each song (oddly enough) mentions the actors and the director, so fond are John Williams's memories of his work with these people. All of the conductors are mentioned along with specific orchestras, choirs, arrangement and orchestration specialists and even the publishers (contractual, I am sure). The only things missing are his early television scores, such as those for "Lost In Space" (by Johnny Williams back then). But with four discs, one has nothing to complain about and everything to enjoy!
John Williams: 40 Years of Outstanding Film Music.......2006-11-28
I have been a huge fan of John Williams and I have known about his music for years. However, I never actually bought any of his music on CD. I was rather skeptical about purchasing this CD but when it arrived I knew I had made the right choice. The sound quality of the compilation is outstanding. The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra do a great job under the direction of Paul Bateman. The original London Symphony Orchestra CDs of John Williams' Star Wars Trilogy CDs are marginally better but this is still a great CD compilation. If you love ET, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Harry Potter, you will love this compilation soundtrack. Buy it, listen to these CDs in the car and enjoy every minute of the collection!!!

After he gained legendary status rapping on Doug E. Fresh's "La Di Da Di," it was only a matter of time before the world would clutch British-born Ricky Walters to its heart. Rick had already fancied himself a rabid storyteller (and a mighty good one) on Fresh's track "The Show," and Great Adventures became Slick Rick's novella. Not content with one perspective, Slick Rick often employed tag-team rhyming with himself as his own partner ("Mona Lisa," "Teacher Teacher"). His cautionary tales ("Hey Young World," "Children's Story," "Teenage Love") work much better than his freaky tales ("Treat Her Like a Prostitute," "Indian Girl"). Still, it doesn't take a musicologist to appreciate the complex rhyme schemes and scenarios of "The Moment I Feared," "Children's Story," and "Mona Lisa," and his slight accent heightened his distinctiveness. Despite lukewarm response to his follow-up--as well as a stint in the pokey--Slick Rick will always be remembered for his Great Adventures, an essential B-boy document. --Todd Inoue
Customer Reviews:
The greatest stories ever told.......2007-06-05
How can we possibly forget about Slick Rick when we talk about great rappers? He is the greatest hip hop storyteller alive. Chlidren's Story, The Moment I Feared, Indian Girl, Mona Lisa, Kit(whats the scoop) and Teacher, Teacher further solidifies that claim. I guess you pay one hell of a price when you let TV and radio define to you what's hip hop. Aside from telling vivid stories, Slick Rick can also bring it to you on an MC level(Teacher, Teacher, The Ruler's Back) and can give it to you on a positive tip(Teenage Love, Hey Young World). Standout Tracks: THE RULER'S BACK, CHILDREN'S STORY(classic), THE MOMENT I FEARED(Slick Rick's finest moment), INDIAN GIRL(comical story with an ending that will leave you in stitches), MONA LISA, HEY YOUNG WORLD, TEENAGE LOVE, and TEACHER, TEACHER. Filler: NONE!!! Bottom Line: The Great Adventures of Slick Rick is definite requirement for any hip hop head who loved hip hop before it became S***hop. Slick Rick is not only one of hip hop's elite, he is also in the hip hop hall of fame. HANDS OFF ASSATA AND SLICK RICK!!!
A classic CD.......2007-05-22
The music does not sound dated. I had this cd many years ago, and lost it along, the way. I still love to hear these old songs again, and again. Slick Rick is very creative. The cd is a classic must have. But, it could stand to be remastered. The volume is much lower then the other music on my mp3 player.

Wow..wackest trash ive heard in a minute. How do yall think this cat is dope? Doesnt take alot of skill tow rite a rhyming story with no mettas or punches...

True Classic.......2007-04-24
This is a classic CD. I wish I could also find Dana Dane's CD for a reason price.
Sweet album.......2007-02-28
i am pretty sick of rap in 2007, so i go back to 88. it's great. i love it. simple, not too complex and not stupid. 5 stars for hip hop that i'll listen to all my life, even in 2234.

This commemorative reissue of music from 2001: A Space Odyssey combines the Also sprach Zarathustra theme, various Johann and Richard Strauss segments, and a ballet suite by Aram Khachaturian--all of which prove how much Stanley Kubrick's film attempts to avoid the soundtrack clichés of most science-fiction movies. Instead of the expected sci-fi effects, there is a more ironic application of music that would be otherwise incongruous to the celestial settings. Here, "The Blue Danube" complements scenes involving weightlessness and descending spacecraft, while Gyorgy Ligeti's creepy "monolith" music connotes Armageddon more than interplanetary exploration. The tracks play as they had appeared on the original soundtrack release back in the '60s, but there is also previously unreleased supplemental material and a dialogue montage entitled "HAL 9000." --Joseph Lanza
Customer Reviews:
great music, great reissue.......2007-04-16
This is a great collection of music and I love the great mastering job that was done with this. The inclusion of the tracks from the original MGM soundtrack release are a great bonus. The liner notes include interpretations of the film and the music that are insightful.
I noticed that the music in the movie is mixed in surround sound, it would be great if they could release this on DVD-Audio or SACD surround. I'd buy it again!
fantastic.......2007-03-11
I have the old lp release of this music, what an incredible array of classical music, topped off by my personal favorite piece of music in the world, the blue danube waltz. Let yourself be carried away in deep space by this incredible score.
whoa........2006-09-04
"Atmospheres" was enough to make me buy this album. just try to imagine what eternity might sound like. okay, now you know exactly what Atmospheres is. wow. who else could having captured the feelings that are in this score? this is above talented. this is above genius. this is above avand garde. this is too good to be labeled as anything at all.
Great Music for Halloween, very creepy.......2006-03-17
I bought this CD to use for a haunted house program, the music will creep you out.
Bleakest of Futures..........2005-10-08
The atonal, unsettling atmosphere of much of the music of Ligeti is fitting to the bleak vision of a human future reigned by nothing but cold technology and of humans drained of emotions except for the deepest animalist fear originating from our inner reptilian brainparts which have not changed for over millions of years. The incongruity of Johann Strauss' lovely 'An der schönen blauen Donau' with the cold technicality of spacefaring as depicted here could not be more complete, but what a perfect find on Stanley Kubrick's part! It makes the uneasiness and confusion even greater. And then, to top it of, the complete and flabbergasting irony of using Richard Strauss' Fanfare for the 'rise of Man' in his 'Also Sprach Zarathustra': what a great destiny for 'Man' indeed, this bleakest of bleak visions of the future!
As a soundtrack for '2001: A Space Odyssey' this music together on one album is just great.
And besides, this soundtrack has indeed, like so many others I guess, made me aware of the genius of Ligeti, which otherwise might have gone unnoticed for me.

One of the many wonderful things about the film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert was that it educated the populace on the school of drag. (At least a little.) Likewise, the film's soundtrack also enlightens those who may have wrongly thought that drag is rooted specifically in disco and torch classics. Sure, there's more than one version of disco stalwarts like "Shake Your Groove Thing," "I Love the Nightlife," and "I Will Survive," but this collection also finds the camp in songs like Paper Lace's "Billy Don't Be a Hero" and "Take a Letter Maria" by R.B. Graves. And of course, Abba's "Mamma Mia" emerges as the embodiment of overwrought dramatics. The soundtrack, with songs by the Village People and Vanessa Williams, is as much of a romp as the film. --Steve Gdula
Customer Reviews:
How many copies of "I Love the Nightlife" can you own?.......2007-02-22
In every way, thas to be the most flaming gay CD ever made, and it's brilliant! Even the CD case is pink!
I have to say, the soundtrack to this movie is nearly as funny as the movie itself. But where the movie gains it humor from situational comedy and humanity, the soundtrack is ironic and cheesy to the far extreme.
Nevertheless, put this on at a party and watch all the grown-ups get up to dance.
Great Feelgood Music.......2007-01-24
Full of Disco fun tracks and light hearted dance numbers, this is well worth having.
"I've been to paradise, but I've never been to me...".......2007-01-11
This film is wonderful, this soundtrack is wonderful, the entire Priscilla package is WONDERFUL! This will put you in the right mood everytime, whether you are doing a show in your car, spraying your hair high, or "prancing around lip-synching the words to other people's songs." Get it, girl.
I ADORE this soundtrack!.......2005-02-14
I've had this soundtrack for over 5 years, and I love it to death. It's one of my favorites, with a great variety of music. It always puts me in a good mood, and is overall just a great compilation. You'll love it!
A great collection of songs!.......2002-10-29
The CD opens with a song meant for camp purposes. But, you know it's a guilty pleasure because you'll start singing along too! We're all allowed.
The variety of songs on this CD is wonderful. From jazz to folk to disco to modern remixes of those old dance hits--you will not be disappointed.
As you can see, there are a lot of tracks and the CD is worth it! It's a great disc for parties and other fun activities.
During my cassette days, I wore out the tape. Now that I have a CD player, I can play the disc over and over and over as many times as I want. I still catch myself singing "Can't Help Loving That Man" from "Showboat." That's just one of many great songs on this soundtrack CD. Treat yourself to the movie and then relive your film experience with this CD!

A Long Time Ago..........2007-01-12
I bought this CD to play at work for background music and it's great for that. The only thing missing is the usually obligatory 20th Century Fox theme before the main Star Wars theme. Other than that, the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and the Crouch End Festival Chorus do a very fine job with Maestro Williams' music, indeed.
Spectacular!.......2007-01-12
I thought this cd was excellent! I bought it as a gift for my brother, who is a huge Star Wars fan, and he loved it. The music reminds me of the best parts of the movies. I think anyone who is a fan should get a copy.
Star Wars Tunes.......2007-01-09
My kids love the Star Wars movies so I bought this hoping we would have something new to listen to in the car. They love it and I love listening to something different. John Williams is genius.
My son loves it.......2005-09-11
My six-year old has become a huge fan of Star Wars and enjoys listening to this disc. It has the best tracks of each episode.
Star Wars Saga.......2005-07-20
Wonderful music. Best from all the movies. How can you go wrong?

Album Description
Their third release represents another stride onward from previous works, where the girls continue to experiment with their disparate voices and clashing personalities, juxtaposing devastating ballads like "Werewolf" with exhilarating tracks like "Japan" and the jaunty single "Rainbowarriors". It's a lush, orchestral array of sounds and beauty; a vaudevillian opera, if you will.
Customer Reviews:
A breakthrough album.......2007-06-12
I never considered myself a big CocoRosie fan before this album... but even on first listen it was hard not to notice there are a bunch of absolutely stunning tracks here... Raphael, Promise, Werewolf etc.
To me the album is a lot more confident and cohesive than Noah's Ark, which had flashes of brilliance but was never totally satisfying. Highly recommended.
Different.......2007-05-13
Cocorosie is different. It is this difference that makes this album great. If you like rock, pop or folk, then you should enjoy this ablum. If you're looking for variety, then this album will be a good addition to your collection.
this is a magical (short review).......2007-05-10
This does not fall short in any respects!
Cocorosie's imagery is beautiful and frightening, like the hypnopompic state of not-quite-awake. Definitely have they not at all declined over albums. Ever strengthening their abilities in storytelling and musicianship, Cocorosie leads the listener inward to a tiny, new world of romance and creepies. The whole disc seems so natural and carefree, but at the same time every word and sound is so, so perfectly placed. It's real enjoyable.
Bjork? Miss Li?.......2007-05-03
For me, this album sounds like their influences come from Bjork and Miss Li. Although some of the songs are slightly different with beat and rhythm, I think I'd rather listen to Bjork's Vespertine. Bjork uses the same style and the same sound with chimes and drums on almost all of her albums. I strongly suggest to buy one of hers instead. Much more heart felt. Although I really wanted to like this album, I simply....can't.
Imaginatively weird album.......2007-04-21
This album sounds like it could be the soundtrack to the Jean-Pierre Jeunet film "City of Lost Children" with a dash of hip-hop thrown in for good measure but be warned, on first listen this album feels somewhat slow & lumbering but after quite a few listens that all changes & each song beautifully stands out from the next. Easily one of the best albums of 2007.

Customer Reviews:
This album is a must for your collection, "Panama Red" alone is worth the price of addmission!.......2006-10-15
The Dead, Skynard, Allman Bros. & Eagles mixed into a bowl and fired up! I bought this album solely for "Panama Red" but the entire album turned out to be very enjoyable. The sound of the album is unique but also reminiscent of other bands that were popular at the time of it's release (1973). Mostly, the lyrics are funny but occasionally become introspective. The "drug culture" and language that is present in the songs take you back to a seeminly simpler time, this one is definitely worth buying.
Cool Country Rock.......2006-03-18
I first bought this album in 1975. Its amazing how after 30 yrs the songs still sound as good as they did way back then. Very good collection of tunes. Half the cd is country and the other half is rock. Total track time is around 30 minutes. Very good music.
Trust me, this rocks........2006-03-16
I see there are already plenty of reviews of Panama Red already, so I really have no excuse for writing my own. All the same...
Firstly, I think people who don't like this album are probably thinking of NRPS as the dead's little sister, which frankly it is not. It has very little to do with the dead. It's psycadelic cowboy rock.
It is also totally fantastic. There is not a song on the album that I don't like.
Here's a mini review of the songs-
"Panama Red"- Totally a classic. First time I heard it I was singing along by the end.
"It's All Right With Me"- Oo-Oo- yeeeaaah, to qoute it.
"Lonesome LA Cowboy"- The lines about smokin' dope, snortin' coke are great. Heck, the whole song is.
"(Ok Sam)Important exportin' man"- Very catchy. Greatest saxaphone.
"One Too Many Stories"- Oh, woe. The only one I couldn't call my favorite. But it's still fine.
"Kick in the head"- Absolutely my favorite. The lyrics are bizarre and typicle Robert Hunter. (Funny the dead never preformed it)
"You Should Have Seen Me Runnin"- Lord. Buffy Sainte-Marie is the greatest back up ever. I don't know why there isn't more of her and less of Donna Jean. (???)
"Teardrops in My Eyes"- I can't help dancing when this plays. Happiest sad song ever.
"L.A Lady"-Really well done. Good singing, good music, good lyrics. What more could you ask for?
"Thank the Day"- Typical Torbert (It's about sailing). The lyrics "I couldn't keep from smiling" must apply to the listener.
"Cement, Clay and Glass"- Wait a sec. THIS is my favorite. Great anti urban sprawl song.
I have only one beef, and trust me it's not the song's fault. I guess when they put it onto cd they changed it a little, because at the end when he (David Nelson, I think. Don't qoute me) is singing "Cement, Clay and Glass" over and over you can hear Donna Jean Godchaux singing signifigantly louder than the he is. This isn't a problem on the record (I know because I have it), just the Cd.
Thats it for the songs, but I think I should mention one other thing thats unfortunate: the packaging for the Cd is not nearly as exciting as it was for the record. The fantastic Panama Red cartoon is rather squashed. Aslo, the sleave that had the lyrics and the picture of NRPS with the grungy dog is not reproduced anywhere.
Thats really all, and, frankly, I can deal with the two small drawbacks because the CD means I can listen to it in the car, lend it to my friends, whatever.
It's pretty hard to dislike the New Riders, so you should definatley give this Cd a try.
Hippie Culture USA.......2005-10-24
First..Woody Guthrie, then Easy Rider, then the Byrd's Sweetheart Of The Rodeo then The New Riders...this rock and roll country and western offshoot of the Dead came into their commercial heyday with these bright unashamed batch of songs.
Their self titled debuet is the most Dead like, their 2nd Powerglide pushed them into speedier funkier grooves while Gypsy Cowboy defined them in a more roots folk setting.
Panama Red became their anthem as the Merry Pranksters of rock culture.
Of course the themes of many of the songs are somewhat comical these days but eventhough the CD is a short one the songs and tunes are alive and still sound fresh. The ballads have beautiful melody, the rockers rock like Commander Cody and the production was top-notch for it's day with bright loud lovely sound.
Their ist release with Garcia and company is a classic..this is the one to forget your troubles with.
What was once entertaining..........2005-07-19
I listened to a lot of this type of stuff in high school. I think it's an okay album but one grows tired of the many cheesy drug references. The two songs on the album that I think have stood the test are the ones that have little flash compared to the signature numbers on the album. "Teardrops in my Eye" is a cover an old Red Allen country number. It works fine on this album. "Cement, clay and glass" a song about urban sprawl was appropos in the 70s and is so now.
I tip my hat to Jerry for prodding his pals to do some country. I'm glad this album was made and I listened to it a lot in the 70s. I'll likely enjoy an occasional track should I ever hear them somewhere but only some of the album has stood the test of time.

Customer Reviews:
A Contrast In Production Styles.......2007-06-25
The legendary Minnie Riperton's two top-20 pop albums are featured on this special cd. PERFECT ANGEL features the huge hit "Lovin' You'", while ADVENTURES IN PARADISE includes the hip-hop sampled classics "Inside My Love" and "Baby, This Love I Have".
PERFECT ANGEL represents the floaty-folksy side of Minnie, the five-and-a-half octave wonder. Produced by Stevie Wonder and Richard Rudolph, Minnie's husband, this #1 r&b album offers stripped down production and earthy lyrics on the singles "Reasons", "Take A Little Trip", "Seeing You This Way", and of course "Lovin' You". Other highlights include the jazzy title track and "Every Time He Comes Around", featuring backing vocals by fellow multi-octave singer Deniece Williams.
ADVENTURES IN PARADISE, the top-20 follow-up album, is the more jazzier and sophisticated of the two albums, thanks to producer Stewart Levine (The Crusaders), and musicians Joe Sample and Larry Carlton (also of the Crusaders). Strings and horn arrangements add a more rich production to such stellar songs as "Baby This Love I Have", the title track, the controversal single "Inside My Love" and the positive album closer "Don't Let Anyone Bring You Down". Although there's no "Lovin' You" on this album, the songs here are more fully-developed.
Two classic Minnie albums with remastered sound and excellent liner notes. What more could a fan ask for?
Perfect Angel/Adventures in Paradise..........2007-06-02
Good combination album from the now legedary Minnie Riperton! You get a real taste of what this artist could do with that multi-octave voice! She needed NO electronic assistance to create, unlike the artists of today...Five stars!
Breathtaking.......2006-05-17
It is so sad that Minnie never got the recognition for being one of our most gifted singers. With range, soul & seduction, she makes my blood sizzle. The disc is remastered superlatively.
I Still Miss Her..........2005-10-25
Minnie was simply the best, with an octave range that would embarrass any of todays contemporaries. Listening to "Inside My Love", still raises hairs on my neck, and brings reflection. She struck a tone within everyone who heard that beautiful voice. I remember clearly where I was upon hearing of her untimely passing. All I could think of was, "God had given, and taken away one of his Angels." Anyone who heard her voice, can never forget her, and this compilation of songs reflect her true essence.
Perfect Angel/Adventures in Paradise.......2005-01-29
I, like a lot of people was introduced to Minnie Ripperton's music by hearing the classic "Lovin' You" and by hearing another of my fav singers, Teena Marie rhapsodize about Minnie's voice and songwriting talent. It's a shame that younger generations of singers don't appear to know more about this phenomenal vocalist - she sings effortlessly and beautifully - no riffs or runs to prolong vocals, just straight out singing from her heart (singers in this era who remind me of Minnie are Jill Scott, Norah Jones, Lizz Wright, Puff Johnson and Amel Larrieux).
Minnie was a true artist whose interest in music ran the gamut from opera to rock to r&b/pop. Her Chess Years album displays her early rock influence while in a group. As you listen to her songs (all of which she co-wrote with her husband or Stevie Wonder) you hear a woman who took risks with her music and in my opinion, never failed.
These two albums are my personal favorites of Minnie's all too short career - sadly her life was cut short by cancer. There is truly not a bad song in the bunch and for the price of one cd, you're getting 2 amazing albums.
Standout tracks to me: Take a Little Trip, Every Time He Comes Around, Baby-This Love I Have, Minnie's Lament, Alone in Brewster Bay & Don't Let Anyone Bring You Down....of course the better known: Lovin You, Inside Each Other & Perfect Angel anchor albums that deserve 10+ ratings on their own.

Great driving music.......2007-07-22
Polaris are Just Miracle Legion, yes. But this Polaris album is so beautiful and simple that it goes back to The Backyard release by Miracle Legion.
Even if you don't like the music, most people will agree that Mark's voice and guitar tones are stellar.
I think this is a real fun, eccentric record.
polaris cd.......2007-05-29
This cd brings back memories of Pete and Pete, but it's also just fun to listen to. I would definitely suggest it to a friend.
Songs to get stuck in your head for days..........2006-03-02
Any true fan of The Adventures of Pete and Pete knows how much the music of Polaris contributed to the excellence of the show. "She is Staggering" is indescribably beautiful and perfect, one of my favorite songs of all time. Everyone who loves the show needs to have this CD, but even people who have never heard of Pete and Pete would enjoy it as well. It's simply very good music.
