This album has something for everyone .From the chilling sounds of Aurora and Chicane to the dark trance of Delirium and Marc Et Claude to the warping house of the Warp Brothers and Hi-Gate.There's even a bit of Matt Darey and Fatboy Slim towards the end of each CD.Buy it and it WILL take you on a journey...

Bein a fan of dance and trance, and having collected most of the Euphoria collection i was expecting a brilliant fusion of the three in this cd and it delivered. A mixture of chilled out sounds and classic dance tracks, to anyone with a similar taste in music this is a must have.

Ok, in short: BUY IT!!

and, in long: Buy several copies and give them as gifts to people you know who appreciate quality in music, far away from the radio garbage of today. I will tell you it might take your undivided attention and a little patience, as this masterpiece does get off to a fairly slow start:

Disk 1: A wierd start, as a classical'ish movie piece blends into a pop'ish, but not over-killed Dido tune, soothingly remixed. Then, again it transforms into another slow, dreamy, movie soundtrack number. So, at this point, you may be feeling somewhat bored, like you might want to fall asleep bored. It's o.k., you can use this effectively in the future, specifically for that purpose, and this is a chillout CD anyway. Schiller is always a welcome sound and sort of begins the transformation of this CD. The next few tracks may test your eyelids again, but if you survive them, you will be rewarded. From one of my favorite CDs, 'Behind the Sun', Chicane's abbreviated "No Ordinary Morning" pleasantly comes and goes, into a nice, and very deep Moby's "Inside". If you have survived this far into the CD, and you are relatively pleased, just wait! A powerful Salt Tank vibe is a great set-up for the most enchanting "Belfast" (Orbital's finest work ever, if you ask me). As this awesome groove from the early 90s meets Chicane's "Early" you will melt, anotomically, into the chair, bed, or wherever you are. This is masterful mixing here, and this area of the CD earns 3 of the 5-stars all on it's own. Guitars stand-out in this next, unusual, track by J & B Eno. Then, clever dubbing and carnivalistic notes meet briefly in PPK's short contribution. The world needs more artists like Solar Stone, which blends nicely into Roger Sanchez's "Another Chance", which surprisingly remixed, compliments the CD and creates for a fantastic mix-into with Lost Tribe's "Under the Red Sea" (light drum and bass sound here which is actually quite nice, and I don't care for D&B.) At this point you may notice that the CD has picked up it's pace, and that you can't remember when it started to. Soon, you are in a near-trance state and sound, with Faithless' "We Come 1". This part of the first CD brings to my mind: mellow Global Underground, mellow Gatecrasher, and Digweed/Sasha Northern Exposure sounds. (Light trance). The CD does wind back down to a smooth finish, but one leaving you wanting more. That is why there is a second disk, and it delivers as soothingly as the first.

In a nutshell, the CD's title could not be more perfectly accurate, and it could be used for more modern and upbeat meditation and yoga as well. The tracks that don't really stand-out as much do grow on you rather nicely after a couple of listenings. This one is definately a keeper.

I recently heard chillout type of song for about 2 months. I was a trance maniac until now. This CD is great, they have so many good chillout sessions that rocks. No ordinary morning - chicane and Belfast - Orbital are probably the best so far and that's CD # 1 only, haven't heard CD#2 but I probably won't change my car's CD player with any other CD yet.

I came across "Breakdown" last week at a local record store near my work. The track list appealed to me despite the fact that I don't care for Christina Aguilera ("Beautiful"), T.A.TU ("All the Things She Said"), and the Junkie XL remix of "A Little Less Conversation". Thankfully I didn't pay for the two cd disc as much as what Amazon is currently offering this cd at. The 2 cd compilation isn't what I would consider to be the best dance mix cd there is but it certainly isn't the worst. Other than the predictability of some of the songs chosen for this compilation, my biggest beef with the compilation is the mixing job Adam White does on this cd. Just like Dave Waxman on the latest "Ultra Trance" cd, Adam White doesn't bother trying to make the songs flow into each other and giving the cd a cohesive sound. And what is up with using such dated songs like Snap!'s "Rhythm is a Dancer"? That is so early '90s as is N-Trance's "Set You Free" (which is a lot better than Planet Soul's version of the song). The songs I do enjoy is the ridiculously cheesy dance versions of "All Out of Love" (Air Supply), "Heaven" (Bryan Adams), and "Glory of Love" (Peter Cetera). Unfortunately I found some of the songs a bit on the repetitious side like "Make Luv" and "Just the Way You Are". House music was never really my thing. Although not flawless, "Breakdown" is an entertaining cd to listen to on the weekend before hitting the nightclubs I think.

    I saw this album on the Ministry of Sound website, and having enjoyed past Breakdown collections, I thought I'd get it. Yeah, it has all the songs I've heard before, but it was a great gift for a friend of mine who is getting into trance. Even still, its a great mix and the DVD is nice too as it contains all the must have videos. For the price, this collection is great!

    This CD is incredible. It relaxes you and is good for thinking. Play this cd while you are working on your computer, driving your car, on the beach, at home before going to bed; it will sure make you happy that you bought it. The euphoria series is the best of the best. This cd is a journey into imagination, and music at its best. The mixes are flawless, check out Chakra Mix Sweetness, Lustral Everytime, Syanesthesia, You're not alone, Go, Barber's Adagio For strings and Calling your name-very well mixed up. Best chill out mix so far in the industry, someone is going to have to mix some serious stuff to beat this one.

    The Euphoria series have defintely become the best series of trance mixes and this is no different...It is simply the best yet. The only difference is that this is the kind of music you can relax to, chill out to and make love to...Ok! I think I'm being carried away...but if you don't believe me buy this compilation (you won't be disappointed) and listen to it at night, by a quiet beach and just gaze at the stars and look onto the ocean...Feel the sea breeze brushing against your skin and smell the freshness of the air...You Are In Heaven...That is where this compilation takes you.

    This is a remarkable CD. It is very dark, and very well made and mixed. The only way to describe this CD is "brilliant". It is not like many other ambient CD's even, including cd's that you would see highlighted on TV commercials at 12:00 at night which feature X-Files theme songs. This one has darker, but much softer versions of many trance songs done by Ministry of Sound, but more so the Euphoria series. Songs include From Russia With Love - Matt Darey, Seven Cities - Solar Stone, Everytime - Lustral. Sister Bliss is also involved, as is York, Enigma, Sasha, Massive Attack and Olive. This disc also has perhaps two of Ambience all time greats: Chicane and Delierium. This CD is like the other side of trance songs that you rarely hear.

    I recommend this CD. This is not trance in the club sense by any means. This is simply a very relaxing cd; romantic, passionate and dark. If you are looking for Chillout in the sense of Smoke City songs or Nightmares on Wax (Cafe Del Mar type) then be warned, this is different. But it's worth the buy to me.

      A month or two ago, I read a review on the first of the Euphoria series. It, and every addition following, got rave reviews; 5 stars across the board. So, I bought the album since it seemed that everyone on Amazon loved it. After anxiously awaiting the delivery, I listened to both discs, and honestly wasn't that thrilled with the compilation.

      But recently, while visiting Chicago, I went to a huge CD store that had the largest electronic music-specific section I'd ever seen. And available for listening was "The Very Best Of Euphoric Dance: Breakdown Ibiza." Before listening, I had looked at the playlist and saw a couple old songs, as well as some brand new ones, and I again was worried that the album would not deliver. But, I reluctantly went ahead and skimmed through the album. WHAT A SURPRISE! This album is one of the most complete compilations I have bought lately. It is one of the few comps I own in which every song flows together, and sounds perfectly placed. The best part is that both discs are quality.

      I don't know where to begin in explaining the music on this album. Each is truly euphoric in its own right, and no matter old anthem or new sensation, the songs weave together beautifully. Personally, the most notable tracks are: Matt Darey's (a man who delivers on ever song) "From Russia With Love," the Ferry Corsten (Ferry who?) remix of Moby's "Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?," Chicane's "Lost You Somewhere," and Static Revenger's remixed "Happy People." The really unique aspect of this comp is, like I said before, that old and new songs are featured together. Classics such as "Better Off Alone" and "Strange World" are found next to this summer's smashes like Members of Mayday's "10 IN 01" and Fatboy Slim's "Star69."

      This album is a great listener. And more importantly, it's true to its title; covering the BEST Euphoric Dance without getting lost in the past or caught-up in the trendy. If you buy one album this year, this should be it. Beautiful songs accompanied by immaculate mixing make this album a winner.
