Global Grooves is the second excursion from London's leading global-dance club 'Whirl-Y-Gig'. Yet again it's a two CD box set, with disc one featuring upbeat Whirly classics, whilst disc two features chillout music. Focusing on disc one the vibe is predominantly uplifting and carnival like, with a few rarities/unreleased tracks from the likes of Telepathy, Dub Touch, Lemon, Global Union and Transglobal Underground. Towards the end of this first disc DJ Monkey Pilot steps up the pace with a superb new track from Astralasia ('The Sea'), and the new unreleased remix of 'Lift' by AZukx. And it gets even harder with the amazing Pendragon remix of the Afro Celt Sound Systems 'Inion'. This first CD is an great cross section of Whirl-Y-Gig and the music that is currently being played regularly there. And on the second CD are a handful of beautiful, chilled parachute tracks. An all-round excellent compilation.
