Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Whatever happened to this brother...........2003-06-15

I saw this smooth brother in, of all places, Wisconsin Dells in about 1990...he was playing in a teen dance club called DJ's. I am not sure how they ever got him to drive the 3 hours from Ill but that place, at that time, was one hip place to be seen. In the middle of freaken nowhere. I grew up near Madison and we went roadtripped up there every weekend for nearly 2 years.

My cousin from Chicago left a mix he recorded off the radio at my house and i played for my boys at a party and we first heard get funky, the mass dubbing began. Sadly this cousin, John Neal, was killed on his 1992 Katana when a fool pulled out in front of him. Saddest day of my life.

Anyway, F.Eddie is a safe buy for all of us that were part of the house movement.

5 out of 5 stars "Now here's what I want y'all to do for me...".......2002-12-23

This is some cool music. Flawless raps over hard and funky house beats. Fast Eddie is the man. This music can still be heard bumpin' in cars on the southside of Chicago.

5 out of 5 stars The Originator!.......2002-03-23

Let it be known that I am a die hard New Yorker and we love to claim what we can. BUT - house music started in Chicago and Fast Eddie is a pioneer. I got hip to him while a freshman in college in 1988 Texas from a guy in the service from Philadelphia!! Talk about a long stretch. Here I am importing music from NYC and he hits me in the head with this!!
I am buying 2 copies of this because who knows how long it will take before I wear the first copy OUT!!!

All you techno fans - respect the original art form - HOUSE! Or I'm sorry - I must be for real - House is updated DISCO but never the less a classic is a classic !!

4 out of 5 stars HOUSE JUNKIE.......2000-08-07

FAST EDDIE IS THE KING OF HIP-HOUSE A DANCE CRAZE WHICH LASTED FROM "88-91" A FUSION OF HIP-HOP(RAP) AND HOUSE MUSIC WHICH ORIGINATED IN CHICAGO..THIS ALBUM CONTAINS CLASSIC HIP-HOUSE CUTS LIKE SIREN PUMPING "YO YO GET FUNCKY " ,"GET ON UP" AND "HIPHOUSE 89" ALSO NON RAPPING TRACKS SUCH AS "LETS GO" AND "GET YOU SOME MORE" WHICH WERE CROWD PLEASERS AT THE CLUBS.THE NEXT HALF OF THE ALBUM IS MORE HARD HOUSE AND BOOTY HOUSE..THERE ALSO A NICE INTRO MIX BY, TO KOOL CHRIS .

BUT THIS BEING "GREATEST HITS" ALBUM SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED "ACID THUNDER" THE "88 ACID HOUSE SMASH HIT...STILL I GIVE IT 4 STARS...
