Customer Reviews:
Too loopy.......2007-04-18
I loved Fluxion's Spaces. Thought I'd try other Fluxion creations. Based on reviews, I decided to get this instead of VB-I. I found it too loopy and repetitive. I was expecting something more similar to Spaces' darkness. I was looking for less beat and more subtle looping. It might be liked by many enthusiasts, but it was not to my liking.
Quality minimal techno..........2004-02-12
How appropriate that this is my first review; I bought this CD based on a) a love of plastikman (consumed, sickness) and Maurizio, et al and b) the positive reviews of seemingly like-minded music-lovers on this site.
It took about 2.5 months(!) for this CD to arrive after ordering it from an Australian online record shop (at a cost of over $40 CAD), but I am very glad I purchased it. Both disks are in heavy rotation in my CD player.
Slow, minimal dubby techno goodness! Like Maurizio, but with more low-level analogue noise and less vinyl pops and scratches. Having recently purchased very high quality, revealing headphones (Etymotic ER4P) and a Creek headphone amplifier, I was amazed as to how much is actually going on in the music. There is as much depth and layering to the sound as is present on Plastikman's magnum opus, Consumed. Hidden conversations, ambient noise from train stations(?), and so on linger in the background of a few tracks. The higher quality your audio gear is, the more there is to listen to.
Wan, bleepy, fuzzy, echoey soundscapes. Any fan of minimal tech will like this. Not overwhelmingly, "OMFG!" good, mind you, but a rich, satisfying listening experience. Synthetic purgatory!
Worth every cent........2003-11-18
I admit, if it weren't for Amazon and all the wonderful reviewers, I wouldn't know where to start purchasing; especailly when it came to the Basic Channel sound. Fortunately after purchasing and falling in love with Rhythm and Sound, I was lead to Fluxion. I purchased all 3 selections and I am very pleased that I did. Very dubby and very relaxing. Multidirectional I, II and Equilibrium are a few of my favorites.
Fantastic Minimalism.......2001-11-06
Fluxion shows the way. With Deeeep Bass and minimal beats and clicks he manage to make minimal techno just as it should be.
If you are into "Basic Channels" "Metalbox" and Maurizio's "Maurizio" album this CD is made for you.
It's hard to explain why this CD is so good... The style is raw, heavy and very repetetive. When I first heard it, I just thought Fluxion had stolen Basic Channels sound and just changed it a little without doing anything new. But that's wrong! After have heard this CD for one month I can't live without it. This is heavy stuff, actually the most serious heavy minimal tech I've heard for years. It has everything a minimal techno CD should have. No wonder when it's from the Chain Reaction label.
The angry naughty bass that pumps through the whole album, the wonderful dub-delays and chords.. The submarine-"pings", The minimal hi-hat... The naughty industry/machine-sounds, All together mixed in a wonderful minimal-tech cocktail. It's so beatiful.. Enjoy!
Chain Reaction does it again.......2000-12-05
After couple of not so good releases, this new double CD by Fluxion, shows once again why Chain Reaction label is enjoying such a high status in techno community. Fluxion has taken the sound he started on first Vibrant Forms to a new level. Keeping all the good parts and dropping the bad ones, leaving us with more than 2 hours of incredible soundscapes we are used from this label. A must have.
