Hal Lifson has done it again. This is a great trip down memory lane. I have so many visuals to the songs. Fran Jeffries singing Sex and the Single Girl....Edie Adams doing Big Spender with a cigar. Noxema and Take It All Off made me want to shave at the age of nine. And then there is Ann-Margret....is there anyone better? I say NO!!! Hal - this might sound corny - but Thanks For The Memories

This compilation reminded me how much fun music can be. The songs really seemed to raise my energy level and I found the whole CD a great workout accessory. I also enjoy it while relaxing. Some of the songs are familiar--others seemed more obscure but still catchy and definitely a reminder of the 60s.

Sexy and Fun.......2005-03-07

This is one of those CD's where you will scratch your head remembering tunes and commercials from the 60's. Some you will never have heard before, as they were never released in the states, others were minor hits, and then there are the blockbusters, such as "Goldfinger." "Girl Don't Tell Me," by Sandy Shaw, "Come and Stay With Me," by Jacke DeShannon, and the Bob Crewe stuff are particular standouts. Add to this mix these zany, sorta sexy commercials and voila, instant party classic for swingers of all age. I got a big kick out of this record. It is fun and amusing, and kinda sexy.

I just got this CD as a birthday gift, and I love it. Not too much notalgia for me -- I'm only 26! -- but tons of great songs I'd never heard before. Highly recommend it to anyone who likes sixties music!

There's not much more to say other than I have over 1500 cds, and this is the one I find myself listening to over and over. It's fun, nostalgic and well-worth repeated listening. Could there be any higher praise?

Simply can't get enough of this type of music. Not easy to classify--not exactly rock, and not exactly jazz--well, whatever the heck it is (jazzy rock?), it sounds great to these ears.
I'd like to see these talented folks cut a few more CDs.

My only objection, (as stated elsewhere regarding two of their other CDS) is when Dave does the talking number.
I don't know, but it just sounds way too weird, and throws the works off. Shouldn't a music CD be all music? Why talk at all, unless it's live and talent is being introduced, etc.

Anyway, that's my only beef with their output.

When will you cut another record, guys? Your fans are waiting.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!.......2004-02-19

I cannot find words to come close to describing how fabulous this CD; this group; this music is! The melodies of Dave Cantor are beautiful. Coupled with kinky lyrics or incredibly intelligent lyrics or just plain fun lyrics - everything works! And Kelly Flint's voice. Cool and sultry. And, great sound. Ballads like Stormy, Nirvana, and Crazy, reach into the depths of one's feelings, explore taboo thoughts, mine deep human emotions - and do it all within the framework of sophisticated and haunting melodies. There is not a weak link to this music.
And where and how did I find this absolute gem? In an out of the way cut-out bin in a record shop in, of all places, Tokyo! Let's hope that some hip Japanese are enjoying this now, as I have been since the day I found it.

This is GREAT MUSIC! Get this and the other 2 DTS disk's - NOW!!!

Sultry Jazz at it's Best.......2003-04-14

Wow! That best describes this cd. A little know group (at least rarely played on the radio) whose style makes one think of the smokey cocktail lounges with a singer dressed in a long gown and gloves. I understand these are original songs, not covers. There are truly some great stories here, "Stormy" being one. If you like sultry jazz, this is a "must have" cd. I hope you enjoy it as much as my husband and I.

"Sex Without Bodies" is fun to listen to. The sound of the recording, recorded "on location" in a church with excellent accoustics, is top notch. Instruments are minimally miked, yielding a wide and deep soundstage. Miss Flint's voice sounds very natural, and on my speakers, she sounds like she is there, right in the room, midway between the speakers, about four feet behind the plane of the speakers. The guitar sound is likewise very natural, and dynamics are superb. But the important thing is the music, and there is a lot of that, especially if you like hip, "lounge lizard" jazz. The lyrics are as intelligent as you might hear this side of Steely Dan. The "double entendre" is used to good advantage, and Miss Flint uses just the right phrasing and nuance to maximize their effect. Some highlights of the album follow. "Spasm" the opening song, swings, and showcases both Mis Flint's voice and Dave Cantor's guitar. "I'll Never Read Trollope Again" may be the funniest song on the CD, and is filled with literary humor. "Stormy" is a slower number, and has the most bizarre lyrics of the set. Miss Flint's voice "wraps" around the melodic line and paints a warped word picture of the activities. My favorite cut is "Daddy'O", using bongos effectively to evoke the early sixties beatnik era mixed with the Viet Nam early seventies era. All the songs on the CD are real toe tappers, with intelligent catchy lyrics, beautifully recorded by Chesky Records. I listen to it almost weekly, and will buy the next Dave's True Story CD automatically, without hearing a note. I don't say that about many artists, but I do about this one, very enthusiastically.

More Diana Dors, More Marilyn Monroe..........2005-12-23

I have in my LP collection the Diana Dors Swinging Dors Lp. Her
version of Rodgers and Hart GENTLEMEN IS A DOPE is great. It was
not included here. I hope they release that Lp on CD soon.
Marilyn Monroe as a singer is a great actress. Her phrasing,
and interpretation of each song she does is superb. There must be
a lot of unreleased Marilyn Monroe songs in the vaults of 2oth
century Fox, many deleted songs from her movies, that have yet to
see the light of day.

Gentlemen prefer blondes........2005-06-30

This is a fine collection of "girl singers" from the "bachelor pad" era. This disc spotlights blondes. There is another CD that features brunettes. There isn't a redheads disc, probably because there aren't enough songs by redheads to fill a CD. Anyway, the disc at hand features a lot of fine blonde singers. Everybody knows Doris Day, Peggy Lee, Marilyn Monroe and Julie London, but you also get lesser known girls like Diana Dors, Paula Castle and Marilyn Maxwell. If you are interested in girl singers who can really swing, you should pick up this CD.

Your Mind is Just a Big Brass Bed! WOW ! Va Va Voom!.......2000-03-29

I have bought this fantastic disc and it is the best in my lounge collection. DCC Compact Classics, a little independent label with the utmost best sound quality compared to the big guys, released the Sex Kittens Blondes and Brunettes (where is the redheads - Tina Louise, Ann-Margret - Abbe Lane - Rhonda Fleming, et al ? ) and these discs are great. Rhino's Cocktail Mix also includes the fast and sexy "Come By Sunday", another great Diana Dors track, but on Sex Kittens in Hi-Fi, Blondes, her sassy, downright dirty lyrics for April 1960 were too wild, "Your eyes are lighted windows, there's a party going on inside, Your mouth's a roller coaster, let me buy a ticket let me slip and slide...your mind's just a big brass bed"...WOW! Why Sony Records does not release Diana Dor's complete Columbia (c. 1960) LP "Swingin' Dors" is beyond me. And the Jayne Mansfield track melts this disc! But we are fortunate to have Marshall Blondsteins in the world who put artistic integrity and sound quality in place of large numbers of sales as the big boys do.

Enchanting Chill music.......2006-03-19

I came across this CD at a music festival booth. I asked the vendor what would be good for massage, as I am a CMT. He popped The Dreaming into a CD and I listened for about 5 minutes before I was hooked.

Just about every one of the songs on the CD is amazing. An incredible mix of Middle Eastern rhythms, ethereal voices, and otherwordly ambience. People ask me all the time what I am playing when I use this CD for my massage sessions. I recently got a DJ friend into this music, and he's in the process of acquiring all 4 CDs by this duo.

My absolute favourite song is Dmaot Malach. When I listen to it with my boyfriend, it feels like we're a million miles away from the world.
We're major fans of Zero 7 and Sound Tribe Sector 9, and this CD is also with us on any trip or evening together.

So Much More Than Expected.......2005-09-22

I had heard several tracks from this CD and was excited about receiving it, however, I was blown away by the fact that I LOVED EVERY TRACK on it. Not only from the point of view of a fan of fabulous music, but from the fact that I can use the music in the psychotherapeutic exercises I facilitate (Breathwork and tantra therapy). Every track is hugely evocative and transporting and the sequence of the tracks is perfect. Couldn't be happier about a music purchase.

Subtle, melodic and definitely spiritual.......2005-02-22

One of our teacher at the yoga studio put this music during a class. Suddenly, everything was different, everything was flowing with grace and I would feel going deep into myself as the poses went.
But you don't need to practice yoga to like it. It's real music and the soul and the inspiration are there.

Fabulous album - one of my favorites.......2004-12-01

I found this CD in a yoga shop and bought it without knowing anything about it. it was one of the best purchases i made! The soft and melodic tracks, with sophisticated rhythms and beats underneath are perfect to play around the house, and especially when working. I'm a graphic designer, and we play this CD all the time in the studio. It really helps the creative flow...! And what's interesting is that i don't seem to be getting tired of it, i just keep discovering new layers and depth.
It's a wonderful CD, i highly recommend it.

Ok, I own no other 'porn inspired' music to compare with Sex-O-Rama 2. My favourite was track one. Other than an all instrumental blues cd I made up from my own collection, I find Sex-O-Rama just as easy to listen to over & over. Really, it is a lot of fun.... A friend had bought a copy a few years ago, & I recently picked up one here at amazon.

You & your partner will laugh the first couple of times you give the cd a try, letting your imagination put the music to, uh, whatever you think would match the beat...

A very good buy. Quality music, don't let the campy cd title or 'over the top' song titles get in the way of putting this cd in your collection.

Sex-o-Rama 2 is music INSPIRED by classic '70s adult film music. NOT the real thing... Even the picture of '90s darling Jenna Jamison doesn't really save it. A nice try, but better luck next time guys! For those of you who want to hear the real deal, I suggest DEEP NOTE: Music of 1970's Adult Cinema. DEEP NOTE is actual soundtrack goodies from the golden age of 70s adult films. Straight ahead jazz, soul-jazz, heavy funk, groovy fuzz rock, Bruce Haack/Jean Jacques Perrey style analog synth, and kitschy soundtrack cheese all lightly peppered with entertaining dialogue and served up in a gorgeous, eye-popping six-panel digipak -- 40 tracks, over an hour long... DEEP NOTE is an extra tasty portion of 1970s underground culture, the REAL DEAL, and a lot of fun!!

these tracks are just so damn funky you just gotta groove when you here it! much less keyboard orientated than the first which is great because where the keyboards lack the funky wah wah guitars pick up this one rarely leaves my disc player! truly a group of gifted and creative musicians!

I thought the music was great. I especially liked Donna Hightower and Eartha Kitt. Overall, the cd was very cool, swanky and relaxing. The vocals were great and it took you back to an era that we can only image. This music paints a time of excitement, freedom and a "It's Great To Be Alive" emotion.

Rarely I can find compliations that has a high hit rate of having above average tunes. I am a fan of K&D,D&K,Blue State,Blue Six, DJ Smash, St. Germain,N.O.W., Zero7, Fragile State Llorca, F-comm label, Ninja Tunes.It has a nice blend of
Loving/romantic feelin as in the first disc titled "Sensual Foreplay" which got smooth laid back tracks,in which 2 has some Asian samples with spice up a bit,ya know some folks like this foreign Exotic touch to get turned on.And on with the second one goes "Sexual Loveplay" has more dreamy lushy elements to it, not much lycis in the second one. The clever thing about this set is they didn't over do what the title suggest, no cheap saucy x-rate samples that make you feel phoney about it. I got it over 1 year and still in love with it.

If you like Delerium, Baligomingo, Conjure One or any of the Buddha Bar or Chill Out stuff, you will LOVE this album!! It's an amazing groove that contains middle eastern and asian influences...every single song is absolutely a masterpiece. This is my favorite of the four...the other three are great too, but this one stands apart from the rest as a true masterpiece of chillin' ethereal electronic bliss. Highly reccomended for anyone...a real gem...

Beautifully layered world sound with ecstatic vocals and a primal beat. I bought "Vision" Vol. 4 at a new age shop here in Orlando called Mistiko. I was so taken with the music I immediately ordered more CDs. Received today "The Dreaming" and Way of the Mystic. Am listening to them and am entranced as we speak. This is everything you want your ambient music to be. Vol 2 "Harmony" is harder to find but should be available soon on Amazon or LoveCatMusic.com. You will never regret partaking of Angel Tears and will want all four.
