Many remixed CDs are mildly amusing at best. Sarah McLachlan's Bloom, on the other hand, is a showcase of world-class musicians reworking her timeless compositions to match their compelling styles, rather than just adding dance beats to pre-existing Sarah songs. The list of contributors to this collection is most impressive, likely to bring non-folk fans into her fold. Reggae legends Sly & Robbie have done some amazing dub-meets-downtempo work on "Train Wreck," arguably improving upon the original cut. DMC (of Run DMC fame) collaborates with Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas to turn out the very BEP-sounding track "Just Like Me," which is centered around McLachlan singing the chorus of "Cats In The Cradle." Famed South Asian DJ Talvin Singh has created a rich, tabla and sitar-infused take on the achingly beautiful "Answer," guaranteed to be a hit at yoga studios and aromatherapy shops everywhere. As far as the other songs are concerned, the majority are amped-up and turned into house music, especially Amsterdam legend Junkie XL's "World On Fire" and the (80's-esque driving beat of "Vox," mixed by Tom Middleton. Ironically, some of the best and brightest moments on Bloom occur when the strong cast of DJs and producers create compositions significantly different from McLachlan's masterful originals. The talent of Sly & Robbie, Talvin Singh, DMC, and Thievery Corporation alone make this album well worth acquiring. --Denise Sheppard

Not bad for a remix album........2006-10-06
Just to let everyone know, I purchased this album through BMG and had no problem ripping it to my computer. Their vesion is apparently not content/copy protected. The best remixes on the album are "Vox" and "Stupid." Worst track is "Just Like Me," it just seems completely out of place and doesn't fit Sarah's style.
Not sure if everyone is listening to the same CD.......2006-10-01
This is one of my favorite Sarah CD's. The dance mix is great. Between this and Afterglow, they are always being played and I have almost every single CD of McLachlan's. It is so refreshing that you can take your music and mix it up and appeal to another group of people. My friend is in the music business and has his own musicians for clients and he even brought this CD. I applaud Sarah McLachlan.
Somehow it all works!.......2006-08-23
I have recently discovered Sarah McLachlan's music and it's been a revelation. The songwriting (words and music) and the vocals are heartfelt and effective. Most of her songs have memorable lines and the vocals are hauntingly beautiful. The thought of a "Remix" album of her music didn't sound like a good thing at first but I was pleasantly surprised. Most tracks have been remixed fully understanding the real emotion/feel behind that particular song - resulting in an album that is deep and sincere yet produces some good, upbeat tracks. Overall, very good fusion of singer-songwriter type songs and modern electronically produced music.
Do not buy this album.......2006-07-30
As long as Sarah is on Sony I will never again purchase one of her albums. This spyware, copy protection scheme is borderline illegal, it's intrusive, and makes playing the music I paid for a pain in the behind.
Some of the tracks are good, but not worth putting spyware on your machine. Just go download them.
Don't support companies that violate your privacy, and don't support artists that accept fat contracts from said companies.
Poor sarah.......2006-07-26
Thanks to the record companies' greed and decision to include crippling copy-protection software on this disc, this is the first Sarah McLachlan album I haven't purchased. I listen to CD's at home, but at work and elsewhere I mostly use my mp3 player, and it was easier to find an illegal copy of the album than it would be to drive to a store, buy the CD, and then search google to find someone's instructions on how to bypass the copy protection just so I could listen to the album away from home.
Have record company suits ever been fans? Somehow I doubt it.

Diamonds Are Forever - And Shirley's One Hell of a Diamond!.......2006-12-14
There are somethings that will always be cool and Shirley Bassey is one of them!
This CD takes some of her classics and spins them in an amazing, inventive and new direction! Yes, it's different from the orginal songs - but what made it so different back then is recaptured by the talented djs who spun Ms. Bassey's honey voice into the sounds of cool!
Worth a listen - and a dance!
Oh YES !!!!!!! .......2006-05-06
About 12 years ago, Shirley Bassey arrived in Beirut for a concert .. I was 12 years old .. my mom was very excited about this .. I was clueless ..!! She took me along 'cuz she's the one who fed me my musical knowledge since I was a kid .. and I fell in love with that woman's voice and personality .. on stage - she was a white angel !!..
A couple of years later I rented 007's Goldfinger .. and when the theme music started I was wide-eyed!! That's her..
I have listened to her music a lot since that day .. there was even a famous DEWAR'S WHITE LABEL Ad with featured the song "Never Never Never" ..
And today, when I found this Remix album, my eyes went wide again!!!.. Groove Armada Remix !??!!! You gotta be kidding me!!! I loved every minute of this album ..!!! Highly recommended to everybody from any age ~_~
If You Like Shirley, You WIll Surely Like This.......2005-08-26
Her old tunes, with new dance-able backbeats.
Great party/club/dance music.
My SO is a huge fan of hers. I am less so, but the new versions of the songs are easier on my ears and more fun to listen to in the background.
Shirley up to date..........2005-01-29
I was ridiculed by my friends for buying this CD, until I made them listen to it. I have always loved Shirley Bassey, along with many other rock/soul/blues and jazz singers. This album takes the great works of Shirleys and brings them into a format for a newer generation to love and still wonderful for the people who loved the original works. As always Shirleys vocals are beautiful and the music it has been put to makes it a whole new experience. I reccomend this album to ANYONE who likes music.
Over looked Singers .......2004-10-22
I'm 35 and I remember when was a kid and my mother would play Shirley Bassey records and other 60's singers! I remember the power and the majesty that is her voice and this woman can belt it out. She is probably one of the most forgotten or should I say most over looked Singers of the 60's and 70's!
So I was looking through my Mothers old LP's that my father had kept after her death and I saw the Moonraker soundtrack and I was compelled to pick it up on CD so I made a trip to my local record store but no luck! So I put a search of the music on I-tunes and I found this compilation so I down loaded it!
This music makes me feel like a kid again when my mom played her records. This compilation does not get old and it has re-sparked my interest in Shirley Bassey. I must agree with most if not all the posts here this compilation is worth getting.
I did not realize that the Propeller heads made a re mix of one of her songs on there first CD. I am now a fan of remixed music. I was for the logiest time a purest on not remixing music but this CD has made me change my mind. The remixes on this CD have given this music and Artist new life: it's like opening an attic and airing it out and rearranging the boxes. I am utterly impressed with this CD.
By far "Spinning Wheel" is my favorite song but "If you go away" is assume! I am now on the hunt for remixed CD's of this caliber. If you are a fan on funk, soul, electronica and women who can belt it out this is the CD for you. If you are a purist don't bother but then again it could change the way you see the remix art form!

Customer Reviews:
BUYER BEWARE.......2007-05-08
The original extended version of 'Fascination' is truly awesome, and the entries from Thomas Dolby, Talking Heads, Spandau, Ultravox and Culture Club are more than worthy. The Duran Duran mix, while good, has been available on disc for many years in many places. Billy Idol's 'Flesh For Fantasy' is even more widely accessible. The 1993 mix of a great Heaven 17 song is simply awful. Blondie's 'Atomic' from 1994 raises the question-- why didn't the people behind this disc put in a little more effort? The remix edit of the wonderful Simple Minds track 'Waterfront' is nothing short of an insult. The 2001 version of 'Kids In America' has been included as an exhibit of the failure of imagination that plagues today's remixers (it couldn't be there for reasons of quality because it has none). Why not dig deeper and get out some of the good stuff released AT THE TIME? It wouldn't have been too much of a chore, and it would've lived up to the title of the disc.
ONE rare mix, lots of duplicates, and several out of place remixes.......2006-06-21
Well, personally, I bought this disk for one reason, and it's the only reason I gave it 4 stars. The SUPER RARE extended version of Fascination by the Human League on CD. Since the "fascination" EP has never made its way to disc, I've had to buy numerous compilations to get most of the songs from that vinyl EP on CD, and I can finally cross this one off my list. Other than that, unless you don't have many 12" collection compilations, you'll probably have most of the stuff on here. It should be noted that "To Cut a Long Story Short" sort of, well, cuts the 12" version short. It's not the full 6 and a half-minute mix. Also, the 12" of "19" is on here, but ironically, the 12" version is shorter than the album version. And why call this disc the ORIGINAL 80s Remix Album when we have 90s house remixes of Heaven 17, Blondie, Simple Minds, and Kim Wilde? They don't belong on here. I wish they would have omitted them and scrounged up some more real 80s 12" versions. Track times:
1. union of the snake (5:56)
2. fascist groove thang (5:50)
3. to cut a long story short (5:47)
4. sometimes (5:18)
5. all stood still (5:07)
6. I'll tumble 4 ya (4:39)
7. fascination (5:00)
8. hyperactive (5:08)
9. 19 (5:14)
10. atomic (6:52)
11. waterfront (6:12)
12. and she was (4:58)
13. kids in America (4:04)
14. flesh for fantasy (7:08)

Best remix album long before R. Kelly / P. Diddy remix era.......2004-11-18
Bell Biv Devoe had perhaps the best remix album long before R. Kelly and P. Diddy had their remix songs and albums. Everything kicks hard here, from the New Edition sung Word To The Mutha, to the Poison songs' remixes, to the heavy funk of She's Dope and so forth! My favorite is the Wolf and Epic-remix of Do Me (Smoothe). Wished it was a minute longer than its three minutes, but it is a smoothly done, percussion driven song. The keyboards glide so smooth on its nice bridges. It sounds so nice in its ballad version. Ronnie Devoe and Mike Bivins' cools raps just glide over the hard beats of the remixes while Ricky Bell's soulful singing is so superb on all of the tracks. This is mental to the thousandth power on this album, as their street edge dominates on these edgy songs. Sometimes, these remixes are far better than the album versions. A very hot remix album to this day!
Dope Album (4.5 Stars).......2004-10-15
I was 15 when this album was released. I remember seeing BBD reunite with the rest of New Edition on the slammin' "Word To The Mutha" video. I immediately shook my mom down for $20 and headed straight to Sam Goody. If you were around to witness the dance craze that is known as the "New Jack Swing" era, then you know BBD created one hell of a buzz with their 1st album (Poison). Then to follow that up with a remix album that was actually good was simply unheard of. Aside from Mary J Blige's remix album, all the other remix albums that we were being bombarded with during the new jack era were either commercial failures or they just plain sucked (especially Bobby Brown's remix album). This album stood out though. It just had that "it" factor that made it tight. The DJ/Radio Station format was also hot. I had never sat through an entire BBD album until this album came out (I skipped a lot of songs on Poison). I was locked in to this album from start to finish. I think what made this album so tight was the fact that they took songs that were already smash hits and made them even better. The "Do Me! (Smoothe Mix)" is way better than the original in my opinion and BBD (I Thought It Was Me)(DJ Mo Grind Time Mix) was also tighter than the original version. This album was an instant hit in 1991. Most of these remixes are just as good if not better than their predecessors.
There really aren't any negatives to be associated with this album. Honestly, I think the remix for "I Do Need You" was hot, but if you're going to remix a song, it should be better than the original and this remix wasn't. The negatives end there though.
Overall, I'd have to say that this album is dope. Actually, this album STILL bumps. If you're a fan of new jack swing type music, then this album is a must have if you don't have it already. The hits from their first album are reworked and they actually turn out better than the originals. You don't see that everyday. Go out and pick this one up and get your 90's party started right.
Standout Tracks: She's Dope (EPOD Mix), Word To The Mutha (My Favorite), Let Me Know something, Ain't Nuthin' Changed, Do Me! (Smoothe Mix), B.B.D. (I Thought It Was Me) (DJ Mo Drind Time Mix), and Do Me! (Mental Mix)
Finally, A Distinguished Remix Album!.......2004-04-03
Anchored by B.B.D.'s reunion with fellow members of New Edition on "Word To The Mutha", the trio surprisingly turned out a decent remix album. During this time, a barrage of remix albums were hitting the shelfs, having the same intentions of B.B.D., milk out all of their enormous popularity in a logistical manner. For most, it failed. But for B.B.D., it worked. Like "Poison", the trio manufactured another inventive album with a smash hit to prove its credibility.
To no surprise, the smash cut is the highlight, but other gems include Do Me! (smooth version), which is noticeably more interesting than the original, and the electronic/house version of "Let Me Know Somethin!", which is reminiscent of Snap! or C & C Music Factory. Also of note is the creative radio-style program format they use to portray the album, with D.J. interludes and a very interesting interview mid-way through the set.
If B.B.D. had another smash single from this set, i would have definitely marked it a 5, as "Word To The Mutha" merits 3 stars alone. Nevertheless, their work is still commendable. For all intents and purposes, B.B.D. succeeded in tying their fans over into their long-anticipated sophomore follow-up. They achieved platinum standing and, coinciding with a enonymous smash in "Poison", became one of the leading figures of new jack swing. Needless to say, if you already have "Poison", it would be a wise investment to purchase this album as well.
Part Interview / Part Remix Album.......2003-04-05
"WBBD-Bootcity!" is part interview, part remix album, redoing all of BBD's songs from their 1990 release, "Poison." The first track on here (aptly named "Intro/D.J. Opening") opens with a sample of "Iesha" by Another Bad Creation, followed by the DJ's opening, then swings right in to "Word to the Mutha!" The same DJ breaks in again at the end of tracks 4, 6, and 11, in addition to tracks 1 and 7. Track #7, with "Uhh Ahh" by Boyz II Men appropriately playing in the background (considering the conversation topic), contains a brief interview of the band, talking about high heels, women's "figures," and basketball (really deep interview, I know ;).
The music alternates between being rough and thug-ish (#3: "Ain't Nut'in' Changed"), highly sexual (two versions of "Do Me"--#5: a smooth, slower remix; and #10: a faster, more synthed version), and romantic (#6: "I Do Need You" and #11: "When Will I See You Smile Again?"), without pushing its PG-13 limit. Like the front cover states, this group/CD is ideal for listeners who like "hip-hop, smoothed out on the r&b tip, with a pop feel appeal to it."
The Dopest Remix Cd Ever Made!.......2002-11-26
Forget what you here nowdays, New Edition and BBD where the first groups that started mixing Hip Hop & R & B. This cd is probably the best pure example of it. With the smooth lead locals of Ricky Bell and the b-boy raps of Ron Devoe & Michael Bivens, BBD proves they were as good as any mixing the 2. This is probably the only remix cd I've ever bought that doesn't have a bad or mediocre mix on it. The mixes for "Do Me (Smooth)," "Do Me (Mental,) "She's Dope," "Word To The Mutha," "Let Me Know Something," & "When Can I See You Smile Again?" are as tight as any remix you'll ever come across. The best mix on this joint is the quiet storm "I Do Need You." The mix is guaranteed to get he mood right. I think this mix tape is actually slightly better than the original lp version. Hip Hop , smoothed out on the r&b tip, with a pop feel appeal to it. You can't front, there are few acts that bring it better than BBD. Peep this, steal it, cop it, just get it!

alternative to "remixed remade remodeled" with a few varying tracks...........2007-03-10
if you're a Blondie completist, you need to have both discs. Here are the tracks you'll find here that are not on the domestic "remixed" CD....
1. Union City Blue (Diddy's Power & Passion Edit)
4. Heart Of Glass (Diddy's Adorable Illusion Mix)
5. Sunday Girl (The Hardly Handbag Mix)
6. Call Me (Debbie Does Dallas)
9. Hanging On The Telephone (Nose Bleed Handbag Mix)
If you also own all the maxi CD singles released at the time, you'll have a few of these mixes already, but this is a good place to get those mixes if you missed out on the CD singles.
Beautiful (Remix Album).......2006-12-21
As a group, I've been bitterly disappointed with Remix Albums, but, Blondie's is actually pretty good. You can dance to it, or just listen. I would actually recommended for Blondie fans who are open for a "different approach" to a few of their songs. The price is right, so go for it!!
Great beats!.......2006-11-01
I bought Remixed, Remade & Remodeled way back when it was first released. Some of the mixes on Beautiful can be found on Remixed, Remade.. but some can't. The Heart of Glass mixes are better here! If you love Blondie and like mixes, this one's worth it.
butchery.......2004-10-09
This is butchery, plain and simple. These remixes are already terribly dated, and they do nothing to enhance the originals. File under "if it ain't broke don't fix it."
SCORCHER REMIXES.......2000-06-11
this is a fantastic remix album.top of my cd collection, this was an album that i was looking for....for ages....Now i've managed to get my claws on it. Recommend.

OVER ALL, A DECENT DISC..........2007-07-16
THE BEATS ARE NICE ON THIS DISC. SOME OF THE TRACKS SOUNDS "PASTED" TOGETHER. OVER ALL IT'S A DECENT DISC. GREAT FOR DOWN SOUTH FANS.
HOWEVER THIS CD IS FORM "PAID IN PARTIAL", SO TRY TO FIND A BOOTLEG OR USED COPY, SEEING AS HOW THE REAL TALENT, THE ARTISTS, PROBABLY WILL NOT BE PAID!

The Best of the DISCO series of Pet Shop Boys.......2007-07-22
1. In the Night (Remixed by Arthur Baker) 6:28 - Good remix who produced Freeez (you know the ones with " I O U ".)
2. Suburbia (Mixed by Julian Mendelssohn) 8:56 - Best remix of this song.
3. Opportunities (Rmxd by Ron Dean Miller and Latin Rascals) 5:31
Little too extreem in the second part of this remix typical Latin Rascals style.
4. Paninaro (Remixed by Pet Shop Boys and David Jacob) 8:36 - Very long intro before the song starts up 2 min but still a song you get stuck in your head.
5. Love Comes Quickly (Remixed by Shep Pettibone) 7:38 - Best version of this song.
6. West End Girls (Remixed by Shep Pettibone) 9:05 - The shouting of "West End Girls" after a short drum intro (this is NOT the Bobby "o" version) well THIS IS THE VERSION of the song to own.

Customer Reviews:
One of the best remix/tribute albums I've ever heard..........2002-07-22
When I first saw this CD, I thought:
"No way is this gonna work!"
How wrong I was!! :)
This album has to be heard to be believed. The various remixers
have worked wonders with the originals and have really funked up
the tunes for a "modern" audience without in any way ruining
them. I'm amazed at how good they are, having heard many
similar attempts at remixing classic songs, this stands head
and shoulders above the rest.
My favourite track on the album is "Big Spender (Wild Oscar
Mix)" - which has a fantastic Prodigy/"Firestarter"-style beat
and features some mad Fat-Boy-Slim/"Rockafeller Skank" effects!
I think it would have made a brilliant single.
Mantronik's "Diamonds Are Forever" is also nuts(!), but it
still works! I like that track a lot, too.
The same goes for DJ Spinna's "Spinning Wheel"...
The Propellerheads' remix of "Goldfinger" is also great.
Kenny Dope's remix of "Light My Fire" is very chillable...
"If You Go Away" is the only "techno" track on the album.
It's a bit of a downer but in a good way(!). Very trancey and
atmospheric.
All of the tracks are great, to be honest.
Forget what any purists might say about it, this album is
awesome and a great tribute to Shirley. I'm sure Ms. Bassey
would be proud... :)
One more thing: This version of the album has a far better
cover than the US version (in my opinion). The US version
doesn't have Shirley on the cover(?!?!)...
Novelty value,but dosent work........2001-03-25
She has the ability to lead any music, be it classical, pop, whatever, but it has to be admitted that she was born to sing with an orchestra the bigger the better.
The Magic Is Still There...........2001-01-28
I have eagerly been anticipating this CD ever since I firstread about it. For the most part, it's quite wonderful. I should notbe surpised at how fresh and vibrant Ms. Bassey's voice sounds, eventhrough all the overdubbed and sampled backing. The reworkings of"Where do I Begin?", "Diamonds Are Forever","Easy Thing to Do", "Never, Never, Never","Big Spender" & "If You Go Away" are simplywonderful. The only ones that are a slight let-down are both remixesof "Light My Fire", while "Goldfinger" borders on,but stays just shy of being too over the top. I wish that "NoRegrets" and "I Who Have Nothing" would have beenincluded instead of these two versions of "Light My Fire."Either way, it's a must for the Bassey fan and the chic as well.

As far as remix albums..........2000-12-21
At first glance one would associate remix and Shirey Bassey with the hypertension of the clubfloor. Both lend a certain drama to one another and therefore seem fitting. With the exception of the last track ("If You Go Away") nothing here gets the club diva treatment. And Thank You to the remixers, since that would have been a waste of the warmth and depth of Shirley Bassey's emotive voice. If you're familiar with the music of Fatboy Slim and The Chemical Brothers you'll feel right at home here, exactly as these songs do in their very respectful Big Beat reinterpretations (all the best and most important elements of each song are retained and enhanced). I must say that as far as remix albums are concerned, this one is an example of how a reconstruction of a song can add lustre to an original track rather than technological tarnish. All ten tracks included here sound as if the song had hand-picked its remix as nothing here sounds garish or out of context. The effects used in "Never Never Never" and "Big Spender", for example, enhance the former's atmosphere and the ladder's plucky attitude. The same is true for every track here, including the lone club mix, which adds an icey quality to the sadness of the lyric. Another issue that is addressed with great satisfaction on this release is the timing of each track. Nothing here is an awkwardly truncated version that would have been better represented in a complete form, nor is anything too lengthy while a remixer admires his own ability to maneuver studio gimmeckry. So yes, I do recommend this album. New fans will be refreshed with quality work informing quality original material, while faithfuls will be delighted by the new moods and playfullness of classic Shirley Bassey. Or vice versa.

Album Description
Reviewer: C. Pierce Jr. Wow, I can't say enough to explain myself in explicit detail on how incredible this project is. You listen to the remixes to untouched original music and additional overlay of sounds and it's like being on an exploratory journey through heaven. This cd is highly recommended. I am kind of sad I can't rate higher than 5 stars, LOL. Sincerely, if you love pink floyd you need this cd. This cd sounds like it should. Thanks Floydhead! This cd is by far the best cd I have ever owned and for insight I have well over 500 cds and many many favorites, but from the moment you press play on this disc it's an instant "oh my" which follows with a giant smile and awe. I can't say enough except thank you so much for your extroadinary artistic abilities. . 80 MINUTES OF PURE INTOXICATING AND ADDICTING SOUNDS. . "Inventive and Avant-Garde. The mystery, the awe, and the complex thought behind the original songs have been kept intact. As an abstract painter from the renaissance portrays his view of timeless objects, I have done so with the music of Pink Floyd." . "I was inspired to experiment with electronica...to mold these pieces using various shades of trance music, dance music, catchy-grooves, progressions, psychedelia, and conceptual art-based music. All-the-while maintaining a marginal pop-music structure." .

And now for something completely different..........2006-05-11
Seeing as there are some mixed reviews of this CD below, I thought I'd post what my reviewer Kris (who's a big electronic music fan) wrote for Djfix.com/Raves.com since it goes into a bit more detail... "And now for something completely different. (Look, I know it's a stretch but Monty Python and Pink Floyd are both British so .... yeah, it's a stretch ... but this is completely different, for sure.) This is the third edition of the Floydian Propulsion Project, which takes classic tracks by the prog/space rock band and does something weird with them. For starters, "Heartbeat, Pigmeat" is here regurgitated as a moodyspooky downtempo piece of darktechno assertion featuring a few vocal samples. "Hey, You" is a little more pacey, but still subdued. Its source material is recognizable (with snippets from the original version) but spun through an electronic, nighttime flavor as it descends into space (yes, I meant to say that). From there it's on to the disco-y dubbish spin on "Any Colour You Like," easily one of the disc's strong tracks. Luscious chillout. "Is There Anybody Out There" gets an evocative, pretty treatment that's uberspacey and yet laced with organic quality; another strong track that recedes into a repetition of the title vocal line. Next up is a reworking of "Another Brick in the Wall Part I," with electronic ambience building into a variation of the classic guitar line from this song and featuring some groovy beats to build the layers, along with Floyd vox. "Terminal Frost" is presented in dark, somber form, almost prog meets chillout industrial, if that makes any sense. This builds and creates a thick but expansive dome of sound, functioning with a blend of subtlety and push. "One of My Days" functions as a brief segue into "A New Machine," a brooding, pulsing piece. The sampled cry "Pigs in Spaaaaaaace!" leads us into this disc's version of "Pigs on the Wing," a blend of organica and electronica and somewhat lighter in feeling than batches of the shadowmood to be found here; yet, melancholia hints. A noteworthy track. "Drooling and Raving" is a bit of experimental sound/music collage that proves to be engrossing. Electro-industrial seems to be the choice for "Signs of Life" ... at least that's what you think until the dub influences kick in. An interesting and compelling number. "Two Suns in the Sunset" is another fusion of organic and electronic and is one of the sunnier notes herein until the militaristic turn toward the end. "If" commences with tribalesque workings with mystic/psychedeclic overtones and quickly catches one's attention. Iron Butterfly comes to mind a little, if they were less bombastic and had lots of spacious world flavor. One of the odder (by virtue of comparison as it's actually one of the more, eh, normal songs on this CD) numbers is "The Pink Anderson Gangsta Blues." Dance stylings finally show up on the psytrance reworking of "Keep Talking," one of my favorite numbers here. Then things get kinda out-there with the revamp of "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict." The name of the mix on this one I just have to share: "More Than a Few Classes of Diminutive Hiraute Organisms Amassing as one in an Astral CAvern and Rocking-Out with a Monolith whilst Avoiding a Quantum Hyperspace Paradox". Quite trippy and ubercool. Floyd's attack on the record industry, "Have a Cigar," gets a totally wicked synthpop/trance take. Excellent. Vocal effects make this one wild and point back to 80s strangeness and forward to electronica's tomorrow. A solid, deleriously tasty track. "Obscured by Clouds" reaches us as buzzing, dark techno with elongated guitar lines. "Let There Be More" almost comes off like bossa nova meets spooky-spooky doings. Finally, "Publius Enigma" functions as an noise collage outro. While this isn't the strongest tribute/remix/redfine release I've ever come across, it is nonetheless a strong effort, with engaging tracks and enough variation and eclecticism to fend off boredome indefinitely. Concept/creation by Seth with remix contributions by Ste-V, Michael Alan, DJ Jimmy Rad and Hainkm."
walk away slowly . . . ........2006-02-02
Not Pink Floyd. Not worth the listen. Wish I had my money back.
Sometimes we make mistakes, and this one sure was. Too bad.
Not what it appears to be........2006-01-23
Do not be fooled by these reviews. This is not what every floyd fan should have, not even close. It might be fine for people who enjoy techno music, and if thats what you like, then go for it. I bought it, listened to it, and gave it away.
A must for any Pink Floyd fan!.......2005-12-13
