awesome, very erotic music, if your into erotic music, danceing or techno, then this is for you.

4 out of 5 stars Like 4 tracks-buy it for iTunes.......2007-01-17

Warning. This is not a new CD like Amazon is misrepresenting here(December 26, 2006). If you look at all the reviews they go back to July 1, 2002.
Now, I would only recommend this CD if you are using Apple iTunes and can delete songs. Rip the CD to iTunes using the AIFF setting. That's non-compressed. Remember, compressed music is destroyed music. Also never download music as that is super compressed. Always buy CD's. But, if your reading this on Amazon, you probably already know this piece of wisdom.
Now, in my opinion much of this CD just doesnt work. The beats are to fast for the Enigma vibe, and there's a lot of cheese going on as well. Also, some of the dance music beats sound dated from 5 years ago.
That being said, there are a few tracks worth buying this CD for, and adding to your iTunes.
Return of innocence (380 Midnight Mix) is super hot, I would buy this CD for that one track alone. Also TNT for the brain (Midnight Man Mix), Mea Culpa (Fading Shades Mix), Principles of Lust (Everlasting Lust Mix) are good.
So I like 4 tracks, delete the rest.

5 out of 5 stars Better than ever...ENIGMA's "Love Sensuality Devotion: The Remix Collection .......2007-01-15

So it's 1990-something and I'm 20-something...and life is good. I'm crankin up the stereo to Enigma's Sadeness Pt. 1 from MCMXC a.D., or I'm dancin' to Return To Innocence from The Cross of Changes at my favorite club. Now, fast forward to today: I'm 30-something, and life is STILL good. I may not be dancing the night away at the clubs, but I'm still crankin' up the stereo because Sadeness Pt. 1 AND Return To Innocence have been revamped. Enigma's U.S. release of Love Sensuality Devotion: The Remix Collection makes me think about my old special friend in a fresh, new way. In this new release, the voice of Enigma is BACK with a vengeance.

Good evening, this is the voice of Enigma. Feel your body start to move slowly. Let the rhythm be your guiding light." Intro from "Turn Around, Northern Lights Club Mix" - Love Sensuality Devotion: The Remix Collection (2006).

In this nine track compilation, there is a little something for everyone - Enigma fans past and present. There is a nice mixture of electronica meeting trip hop for those who rave the night away to good music. "Turn Around" has a great beat with synthesizer effects that also gives an ambient, new age edge for those who just wish to relax and meditate. For me, the artistry behind the music of Enigma is still very much a mystery, but one thing is for certain: the fact that they have consistently turned out great beats is NOT a mystery. This album is a collection of greatest hits with the remixes of signature songs like "Age Of Loneliness," "Principles Of Lust," and "Mea Culpa" that I find is easy to listen to whether I'm chilling, working, driving, dancing around my house...it is music that fits in with everything and transcends time with its fresh approach.

This is an essential Enigma collection with reworkings of all their greatest stuff. It's fantastic to listen to and to dance to. I have no "Sadeness" for buying this album.

This is the kind of music that makes you move and feel at the same time, I love this remixed version.

5 out of 5 stars First of Many??.......2006-08-01

I've seen the reviews whining about this remix or that remix not being included. So what? Maybe it will be on the next collection. Truth is, this is an awesome collection and way
cheaper than trying to buy them seperately, if you can still find them. I've collected about 95% of the remix singles released, and still consider this a must have. Track #1 was never released seperately, and is a 10 out of 10. The way the tracks are all tied together (like the greatest hits collection)
is better than loading up the cd changer with the originals. My advice is to snatch this baby up before they're all gone.

1 out of 5 stars Cretu isn't even trying. Avoid this one at all costs!.......2005-08-13

I'm a big fan of the first three Enigma CDs. That stuff is legendary! I can remember that prior to the release of LSD, Michael Cretu (~Enigma) was fighting with his record company because he wasn't pumping out records as fast as his record contract called for. Hence the Greatest Hits and Remix Collections, "LSD".

The first two tracks give the illusion that something magical might happen here. The first is interesting, something new, and it's enjoyable. From here on, it's a let down. Almost every track has either been barely touched (Age of Loneliness remix, etc.) or it sounds like the most amature nonsense electronic beats you've ever heard (i.e. Sadeness pt 1, the "Violent U.S. Remix"). Overall, this is a terrible waste.

If you're even tempted to buy this CD, I'd recommend filling in ANY other gap in your Enigma collection, except Voyageur, which amazingly enough, is worse than this remix CD!

This CD is just what happens when record contract deadlines approach and the artist is feeling uninspired. Avoid it like the plague!

    5 out of 5 stars Beautiful........2003-12-27

I'm at a bit of a loss as of what to say so I'll just write the words that come to mind when I listen to it: cool, relaxing, arousing, trance, sexy, dance, beautiful, sorrow, thought, rhythm, grace, holy. I don't know if this will help anyone, but perhaps it will.

5 out of 5 stars ~ENIGMA~ Ruler of all Music.......2003-06-29

What else could I say besides "Enigma is the best in the world?" That would not be an over statement! The CD is awesome. It is loaded with the remixes that you probably haven't heard before. It has techno with awesome new beats and new versions of previous music. This is a must have to add to your Enigma Collection!!! I guarantee it's EXCELLENT!

Recorded at First Avenue in Minneapolis on December 16th, 2001! 5 out of 5 stars Just What You Would Expect.......2005-11-22

Live is a killer album. I know from a few shows I have seen, the reason I really enjoy them is their imperfections. The grittiness and hard riffs come out and it is a good look into the past of D4. I just really hope that it wasn't the last time that they played these songs.

    4 out of 5 stars Kiiiiind Love.......2005-05-21

I agree with Brian -- this isn't something to start off with, buit rather something nice to round out your D4 collection. D4 is an AMAZING live band, but of course that only partially translates onto this live CD. In fact, if you own the other albums, the actual music on this CD will be the least-listened to part of it. The key to the whole thing is the amazing tape of H.R. from Bad Brains. It will blow your mind!

    4 out of 5 stars Yes, I'm a fan already.......2005-04-18

First off, DO NOT START with this disc!!! If you haven't heard or seen Dillinger Four before you will probably not like this. If you have seen them...well, mabye you will. The disc is about bootleg quality and that's at the high points. Personally, I think they're amazing. And this is very much like a Dillinger Four show. So if you know what you're getting in to then you need this otherwise grab a studio album instead. By the way, I just saw them play a punk house in Minneapolis called The Alamo and, even though I've seen them tons of times, it was one of the better shows I can remember. ROCK ON D4!!!

5 out of 5 stars tasty morsel of dub.......2001-09-05

absolutely the number one "space dub" cd i own. i am a huge orb fan and this fits in very well with all of the orbs earlier material. nice samples, nice echo chamber, some tribal beats and those bouncy bass lines all blend together to melt away your conciseness into something quite introspective. no mind altering substances needed to enjoy this one. dub trees is intoxicating on is own and well worth the money spent. peace.

4 out of 5 stars Electronica DUB from YOUTH.......2001-01-27

After settling into this lucid landscape of deep, theraputic bass and treated mindscapes into some real nice sound, I let myself really fall into Dub Trees' beauty. If you're a fan of the great 'Orblivion' from the Orb, then you'll understand this. YOUTH's compositions are truly mind delving. Imagine digging yourself out of a hole in the ground and appearing in the middle of nowhere with two GIANT speakers there to tell you their message. (like the sleeve illustrates)

      Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars AMAZING, of course.......2005-12-30

For those that know and love the surfers as the most brain bending, soul-chewing outfit EVER - you rock. For those that put on Humpty Dumpty or Locust Abortion and think "I don't get it". Give it up!!! You never will!!!! I love and adore this CD just as I love and adore the surfers and always will. I'll continue to support them no matter what choices they make in the studio. They are dangerous and squishy and brilliant technicolor reaching sharply out at you in a musical world full of blank, flat, harmless snoring.

My only sorrow regarding the surfers is that in about ten years the rest of the world is going to catch up their first four CDs (plus this one) and there is going to be an ENORMOUS Surfers revival. Just wait and see. It may take twenty years. People are fairly dense. Just turn on the radio and listen. Listen in any "trendy" coffee shop. It's the most inert, harmless, lifeless blah stuff. No risk. No daring. Very dour and downbeat and "cool". A lot of posing by the camera-ready lead singer, hair immaculately coiffed. Jesus. Excuse me while I blow my brains out.

Anyway, this album is brilliant and you should buy it immediately. Don't even think. Just buy. Click and buy. I promise you won't be sorry. I loved the songs on here. The surfers have an amazing way of blending punk, metal, psychadelics, and trance into the most exquisite, beautiful package. I love the eastern feel to some of the songs. Some, in particular "All Day" have a legitimately spiritual feel. I would say the weak points to the CD "Concubine" (just feels too incomplete) and "Eindhoven Chicken Masque" which doesn't really feel as much like a surfer song.

Buy this album!! You won't be sorry!!!

      4 out of 5 stars A Hairway of Locusts.......2005-11-10

Many people have called this collection of Butthole Surfers Rarities "an album that sounds like it was between Locust Abortion Technician and Hairway to Steven". That a perfect definition of Humpty Dumpty LSD because it sounds exactly like that. Released in 2002, for a moment it seems like they started using drugs excessively again, Theresa rejoined the band and they started jumping around stage again. I hope this won't be the last rarities release as they certainly have more then enough material to make a Humpty Dumpty LSD volume 2, 3 or 4. I've read in an interview that was made shortly after Independent Worm Saloon that they had over 300 songs that were recorded but weren't released on any records. The Surfers had always found time to record while they weren't touring and this guarantees that there is even more material these guys have hidden away. Although half of the material here is Instrumentals, it makes perfect sense considering mush of it isn't actually complete.

This is definitely not the best place to start with the music of the Butthole Surfers. I would say that it would be best to have at least two albums from their 80's era before deciding upon this. Something that is interesting though, on the Vinyl versions, there are 2 bonus tracks, Sinister Crayon 9which later made it to the Butthole Surfers/Live PCPPEP re-release) and Sherman, which I haven't had the pleasure of hearing yet. Here is a breakdown of the album so you will know what to expect.

      1. Night of the Day 8/10: A lot of people don't like this and consider it a throw away track, but if you listen closely and pay attention to what is being said, it is hilarious and perfect, also the music is relaxing.
      2. 100 Million People Dead 9/10: the original version appeared on several compilations and can be downloaded from their website. This is a much cleaner version and is 7 minutes long. The only bad part is that this is 7 minutes long, it could have been just as good had it been in 4 minutes and not so repetitive.
      3. I love you Peggy 7/10: Another one of their Stalker songs, pretty funny.
      4. Space I 7/10: relaxing instrumental that features whistles of various types along with multiple kinds of sound effects.
      5. Perry Intro 7/10: Another Instrumental, this one leans toward disturbing sludge that could be found under the bathroom sink next to your skull bong. Originally an Intro to the song Perry, and in their combined form is called Perry Mason.
      6. Day of the Dying Alive 10/10: Enter a Demo of the first half of Jimi. I actually think this sounds more disturbing than the original especially with Paul's soloing.
      7. Eindhoven Chicken Masque 10/10: An awesome instrumental that features trumpets, the two drummers and a variety of sweet guitar riffs, probably could have been a little longer.
      8. Just a Boy 8/10: Along the same lines as I love you Peggy, very young Surfers, rather Punk.
      9. Hetero Skeleton 9/10: Enter the most Disturbing thing to be found on the record, almost an instrumental I think there are a few things said at the end that may be the Gibbytronix, but this features an insane piano, creepy drums and a Guitar that just sounds loaded with acid. The only bad thing about it is that it drags on for a bit and should have been shorter but it's a terrifically frightening experience.
      10. Earthquake 6/10: Kind of fruity, it's a cover of the 13 Elevators Song, it just doesn't seem to fit.
      11. Ghandi 9/10: A B-Side for Independent Worm Saloon, it can be found on the Japanese Import. Very relaxing and psychedelic.
      12. I Hate My Job 10/10: YES! An anthem for working teenagers everywhere! It's hilarious and obviously very punk.
      13. Space II 5/10: A Disturbing Instrumental in comparison to Space I, weird effects found throughout, no whistles this time.
      14. Concubine Solo 5/10: It's just a piece to a song, a 4 track.
      15. All Day 3/10: The beginning is nice, but this song gets repetitive really, really fast and you just want it to end, kind of like working all day and practically an instrumental.
      16. Dadgad 8/10: A Six minute cheery jam instrumental and positive way to end the album.
      17. [Untitled] ?/10: This is the real end to the album, and that's all it is. Its six seconds long and its something that kind of tells the listener that the album is over.

Here's a list of possible songs to put on any Humpty Dumpty LSD type sequels. Whatever (I Had a Dream), Pottery, Hybrid, All the Pepper Remixes (I believe there are 4), The Legless Eye, Good King Wencenslaus, Who was in My Room Last night? (Trent Reznor Remix), Neee Neee, Clean it Up, Matchstick (Demo), Flame Grape, Other 1982-83 demos, Sherman (From the Vinyl version), Tiny Rubberband, Summer in the City, Underdog, Interviews, any songs from the rare fan club 7"s, I have 4 of them - they feature live songs, the 12 songs from After the Astronaut, Hurdy Gurdy Man Remixes, The Lord is a Monkey (Demo/Remix), maybe a backwards version of the song Hay (its actually just a bunch of drums jamming), and if you've ever heard Jimi at 45rpm, you'll notice that Gibby is actually sounds normal and very interesting, and how about a studio version of No Rule? That song has been played in concert forever and it's never been on a record.

I know that the Butthole Surfers are kind of on a hiatus right now, but let's hope that they get back in the studio and release some new stuff or at least release more stuff like this. Most of it isn't great classic songs, but they are still enjoyable, even the bad ones I can find myself listening to. Get this if you are a Big Butthole fan. Hoped this helped.

2 out of 5 stars Odds and sods.......2004-12-15

This is a very uneven compilation of unreleased and rare home recordings, practice-space jams, comp tracks, and outtakes from 1982-1994. Unfortunately after listening to this you'll know why most of this wasn't released before. Its more of a collection of (mostly instrumental) sketches and half baked ideas than an actual album. Of course their are some good songs such as "I Love You Peggy", or the 13th Floor Elevators cover "Earthquake", or "Endhoven Chicken Masque" but Humpty Dumpty LSD also contains a lot of absolute garbage such as "Night of the Day", a number played on acoustic guitar accompanied by unintelligible low pitched and unintelligible high pitched voices. It's as boring a song as you can imagine. Or the worst number "Perry Intro" which may or may not be the beginning to the song Perry that has been slowed way way down to a sludge like crawl. I mean come on, this is the kinda crap that every kid with a tape player or digital delay has done since tape machines (or delays) were invented. Big time yawn for that one.

Most of this album just isn't that interesting or groundbreaking, the quality of the "songs" isn't high. In fact it's pretty low because this stuff wasn't intended for release. Its like a Buttholes sketch book, not a finished work. If that sounds interesting to you or if you are a die hard fan you may want to pick this up, otherwise avoid it or rip it from a friend.

5 out of 5 stars true to the trip,indeed!.......2004-07-25

this is the ultimate "wig-out" cd.if you're reading this you should buy it BEFORE you do what I think you're gonna do.......
for real though it's a crazilly rediculous collection of all the "material" that they came up with when they were "caught up in the moment".so it would seem.

Ritches to Rags was RKL's last album to be put out, and as far as last albums go, this one is prolly one of the best. As far as punk/Hardcore albums go this band is up their on the list, especialy if you're looking at bands coming out of the mid eighties. Riches to Rags showcases the guys at the hight of thier ablity, and the bass lines and lead guitars will blow most anyone away. These guys are easily one of the most under apreciated bands of all time, and definatly on of the most underapreciated of Epitaph's long roster. Saddly RKL wont be making anymore albums after last year's tragic deaths of three members(unrelated incidents) RKL will be missed for sure by thier fans, but they left us with the gift of thier music. If you like the early stuff from the likes of the Offspring, Pennywise, NoFX, Rancid, and the later stuff of Wayne Kramer, then this Album is a must for you. if you love old school hardcore, go with Keep Laughing before diving into this one

Another great RKL release, proving that there's still space left for true hardcore bands!!! Really great songs, specially "Betrayed" (a personal favourite). The greater basslines in the punk/hardcore scene are also included...

Ok.. i'll keep it to the point. Electronic drums, crappy synths, and the typical early 90's singer. What the band does have is creativitiy, or something. And for the drawing of Hitler dressed up as a girl on the cover; a+. Spirit Of Suicide is one of the better tracks on here.
