About the Artist
Verplanken is an unconventional European composer who is developing a distinctive and ambitious style and showing an undeniable creativity in the field of contemporary music.

Product Description
Verplanken comes back with a new release entitled “The Missing Tracks which is a fitting response to the stunning “Autopsy Of A Dream in a more accomplished and personal way. The compositions are elaborate, sometimes sophisticated, but always deep and intense. The opening track “Voyage propels the listener strait away into a space odyssey where enchantment and anguish rival in intensity. “On The Edge bluntly brings the listener back to a reality full of doubts and uncertainties that are generated by talkative and obsessive guitars whereas the magnificent and enthralling choirs of “Island bring some salutary but precarious relief and serenity. “Looking For The Sun puts an end to the peaceful atmosphere with clamorous and insistent saxophones which create a new disturbing and disorienting climate. From the very beginning, the album is filled with underlying tension that comes at its height in tracks 2 & 4 and finally has no choice but! to retreat before getting to the highlight track of the album: the gorgeous and mesmerizing “Welcome. This time, Verplanken puts his musical influences aside and as a sonic explorer, succeeds in developing his own style. He provides an astonishing sonic odyssey that can be viewed as a further advancement in his musical evolution and an excellent example of his growing maturity. “The Missing Tracks appears to be an outstanding and original album brimming with emotional richness. With such a convincing result, Verplanken might reconcile the public with contemporary music often described as cold, intellectual and elitist.

4 out of 5 stars Accepts Best Courtest Of UDO.......2005-02-25

The release of U.D.O.'s "Nailed To Metal - The Missing Tracks" is a really good live recording. While I have never really been a fan of Udo Dirkschnieder's voice, I found myself really feeling the intensity he delivers his songs has been kept throughout his career. I first saw Accept when they opened for KISS on the "Lick It Up" tour and the fans were Legion at this performance. Yet for some odd reason I was not into them yet. I would change that opinion after a few more listens to the "Restless And Wild" and "Balls To The Wall" albums.

I will admit that this release includes all of the Accept tracks that I loved growing up as a young metal fan. "Princess Of The Dawn", "Balls To The Wall", Metal Heart" and Restless And Wild" as well as "Fast As A Shark" are all here so that made for an enjoyable listen. It is quite different hearing Stefan Kaufmann as a guitar player rather than a drummer, but the guy on this album Lorenzo Milani does an amazing job and there is a killer drum solo done on the CD. I would later find out that Stefan has not been playing drums since 1987, but as I said I was always a moderate Accept and UDO fan. Igor Gianola is featured on Guitar as is Fitty on the Bass. After doing a little research, I found that the tune X-T-C was an older pre-UDO Accept tune. Clearly UDO does this number justice. UDO completists will enjoy it, and new fans can appreciate it since it covers a wide range of stuff.

After giving this piece a listen, I realized I need to dig up my old Accept music and also find my way to the shops to purchase some U.D.O. I advise fans check this one out and be aware that there is also a DVD of this release available for the hungry metal maven.

2 out of 5 stars The best damn Accept tribute band period!.......2004-03-11

What's Good About It?

If you're a fan of Accept, then this CD will be a walk down metal lane. All their classics are here; the rapid fire riff that sustains "Fast as a Shark," the simple but effective hooks of "X-T-C," the chugga-chugga guitar work of "Restless and Wild," and the catchy 'woe woe' of "Hard Attack." Most of the Accept tracks are made more appealing in the live setting by extended musical embellishments. "Metal Heart," a track from Accept's greatest album (in my opinion), is a good example of this. The duel guitarists display their talents in an off-the-cuff six-string duel. As far as the U.D.O. group material goes, "Holy," "Raiders of the Beyond," and "Thunder in the Tower," if I didn't tell you they were U.D.O. songs, you'd think they were lost Accept tracks. There's plenty of crowd interaction and sing-alongs to justify the 'live' recording. Oddly enough there's no cover of "Balls to the Wall." Just kidding! Here's a fun drinking game for ya; every time Udo sings the title, take a shot. You'll be on the floor before the end of this nine-minute extended version.

Anything Bad?

One track devoted to a drum solo. Only three U.D.O. songs out of 10; all from the same album, and it's not even their last one. For crying out loud, the group has had eight studio albums! Even David Lee Roth performs all his singles live.

Bottom Line

The best damn Accept tribute band period! There's nothing here that you haven't heard on previous Accept live albums, with three exceptions (and you can hear those on a previous U.D.O. live album). To Udo's credit, he still sounds like he did twenty years ago; angry and gristled. The band is tight and virtually flawless. The CD is really a promo for the DVD, which is packed with more material (9 live tracks, behind the scenes, 10 video clips, discography, biography, photo gallery, and 7 unreleased audio tracks). Be smart, get the DVD.

    Product Description

Voxbox is a self-titled debut album, written, mixed and mastered by Nevin S. Hersch. While encapsulating a wide variety of styles, Voxbox is held together by intricate production skills and attention to detail. Having 19 tracks and being almost 80 minutes long, this album wasn't a small project. The idea of Voxbox stemmed from Nevin's influences: Depeche Mode, Yaz(oo), Kraftwerk, Adult., Fischerspooner, Solvent, DMX Crew and The Soft Pink Truth. Missing Persons is an obvious influence, since their song "Destination Unknown" is the only cover song featured on the album. The album has a mostly dark feel from its lyrics, "My memory has been deleted," to its artwork, which is bound to get some attention: Mannequin photography from Nevin's own studio mannequins and vocalists, Annie (Lennox) and Carol (Channing). As for the remainder of the vocals, Nevin does them himself.

    Customer Reviews:

    4 out of 5 stars Nice Surprise.......2006-03-20

I get these compilations because many times bands don't put all their solid material on albums. That is the case here. All of the tracks I don't have on regular releases that are here are ones I wouldn't want to be without. I don't even notice the sound quality. Who are these guys that analyze the sound on a Missing Persons album. They write awesome pop songs with an atmospheric, catchy sound and profound lyrics. Too bad they can't get along.

    Scott

    2 out of 5 stars Very Weak!.......2003-09-03

Unless you're a hardcore Missing Persons fan, don't waste your money or your time on this CD. The sound quality is terrible - it sounds like someone taped it using a single microphone, if that's board sound - they need a new board. The song selection is okay but the playing is very sloppy. Reminds of some garage bands I've heard in the past. This is one of those CD's you play once and say, Hmmmm - Interesting but never play it again. If you're looking to buy a Missing Persons CD - choose something else, make this one your last MP selection. With that being said, Terry Bozzio is still one the best drummers around but this offering just doesn't do anyone in the band justice (even Terry). As I said - Only for the very hardcore fan!

5 out of 5 stars Curious about which tracks are from the 2001 reunion?.......2003-03-14

Live performances taped during rehearsals for the 2001 Reunion shows: #2 "Dark & Dangerous Guy" #5 "Throw Money" #8 "Face To Face" #10 "Give" -- #12 "Dark and Dangerous Guy" is from a live show in 1986.

    4 out of 5 stars Good album........2003-01-15

If you like the 80's buy this one.

3 out of 5 stars I was hoping for something better........2002-11-08

I'm a huge MP fan, but I have to say that aside from the fact that there were some tunes I'd never heard, I was dissapointed by Lost Tracks. The biggest dissapointment musically is Dale on the 2001 reunion tracks. The band was tight, but as the prior reviewer aptly put it, Dale's vocals are labored. You can hear the difference between the earlier live tracks and the new stuff. The other gigantic dissapointment is Warren. He has his site listed on the CD and after visiting it, I will not follow another project he's on. The guy sold out big time...classless freak show style.
