good memories for me and fun "new" songs for my children.......2007-06-27

We had ordered this for "The Dukes of Hazzard" theme song for our 4yr old and our whole family has fallen in love with the cd. It makes me want to share some of the old fun and simple shows with my children. I forgot about some of those shows. It brings back good memories for my husband and me and the songs are new and exciting for our children. It's a nice change from children's cd's, but our children still think it's fun. The sound quality is good and the songs included on the cd are a great mix. I would definately recommend this one.

This is a great CD for people who watch a lot of TV -especially TV LAND and reruns of old shows when shows had actual theme songs. I took the CD to work and everyone loved trying to figure out what show the songs were from.

The term Irish tenor may be fraught with as many wrong-headed, anachronistic characterizations as any phrase in music. But Ronan Tynan not only returns here to the PBS airwaves that helped spread his fame as a member of the Irish Tenors trio, but he overturns a few clichés while delivering a live concert (recorded at the Royal Dublin Society in June 2002) that encompasses everything from Broadway and pop chestnuts to Italian operatic repertoire. Tynan rewards Irish traditions old and new (a medley of Brian Kennedy's and U2's "Life, Love & Happiness"/"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For") and even makes left turns into folkie songstress territory (Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now," Sarah McLachlan's "Angel"). Simply Wonderful.......2005-08-29

This CD is just as great as the more recent "Ronan" CD. I clicked on 3 stars in error. This is a 5++ star album! His voice is sheer perfection, and the songs are wonderful. I also highly recommend the DVD of "The Impossible Dream," even though I didn't care at all for the London Community Choir who sing four songs. Note: The American version of the DVD doesn't have the 25-minute "Dr. Courageous" extra on it that the Irish version does. I saw him in concert last month, and besides having a voice that soars to the rafters, he is warm, funny and endearing.

ronan tynan is a great role model for adults and children alike. he was born with a deformity and made a decision he would make something of himself, he had a goal and he surpassed it. no one puts as much of their heart into as he. he puts the audience into his songs, he makes us feel he is singing to each one of us individually. Amasong's Most Recent Release.......2006-11-10

Perhaps it's because I listened to Amai so much, I can't get as into this CD. The CD opens with a rousing Brazilian song. The energy of it reminds me strongly of the last track on Amai. The tracks after this one aren't quite as rousing and I feel that the song would have been better placed at the end of the album.

Other than that, the CD is better produced than the other two and you can hear it.

Beautiful music sung by an award winning vocal group of lesbian/feminist women from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Everything about this cd is top notch - from the ceramic art works and book design to the quality and diversity of music. It's simply gorgeous.

Out of this album, Dancin' is most recommended because, as far as I know, it is not included in any other Bobby ''O'' CDs. I love the song with a catchy and profound analogue synthesizer melody, and used to dance to it back in my high school time. That was a best-kept secret killer High Energy tune in Japan in early-80s. The song I like best of Bobby ''O'' is She Has A Way but it appears in many other his compilation, too. So you would be happy to own this CD with ''Dancin''' at least. Viva Blanco Y Negro! This label also issued the ''I Love Disco'' series with many many rare HNG tunes.

Producer Bobby Orlando Defined High Energy Dance Music.......2005-01-08

Bobby Orlando was an early 80's producer, song writer, musician and singer (Bobby 'O') and along with his various record labels (most notable 'O' Records & Visuals) pioneered a post-disco sound called High Energy. Released at least 400 recordings giving us some of the best dance music ever made, too bad most of his music were club hits and underground scene favorites. Some of his music managed to make it into movies like Valley Girl and Nightmare in Elm Street Part 2.

Several of his productions made it big in Europe, Canada and Mexico while only having minimal but lasting effect in the United States. This compilation was created by "Blanco Y Negro" a Spanish label paying tribute to the Legend who took punches on the big music labels by dominating the dance music scene. Here you will find "The Pet Shop Boys" with a rare version of One More Chance, actor turned part-time singer Divine (Hairspray, Polyester, Lust in the dust) singing "Shoot Your Shot", disco legend Claudja Barry "Whisper to a scream", plus mainstay groups like The Flirts "Helpless", Oh Romeo "These Memories" a total of 13 outstanding dance tracks.

Although these groups here had bigger hits, available from Hot Productions whom has distributed 'O' Records along with CBS Records, this collection is still a must have! All songs are long versions, some are rather rare like The New York Models "Fashion" and Joe Michael "Dancin" which make it on CD for the first time. So put on your dancing shoes or just sit back listen and enjoy Bobby Orlando, we all LOVE BOBBY 'O' ....plus rumor has it that Blanco Y Negro is planning to release more installments of Bobby Orlando materials support them by buying this CD! This CD is much more than a curio. ("Shostakovich"? Heck, why not; Burns's appeal is worldwide, isn't it?) It contains the cantata "The Jolly Beggars" (a/k/a 'Love and Liberty') and more. I'd say the CD is worth it for "Beggars," but the remaining music is first-rate, as you'd surmise from the composers here, and is utterly delightful. This one goes beyond borders and definitions, and I think ol' Rabbie (NOT "Bobby"! ouch!!) would be proud. Highly recommended to fans of Burns, Scottish and folk music, and classical music, and yes, plain old good music.

That's how I felt when listening to this great CD. 13 songs, each unique and lilting. Reminded me to summers spent on my grandparents farm (they were from Ireland). The richness of the instrumentation only further compliments this singer's soft relaxing voice. You'll play this CD over and over and over...
