I challenge you to SIT while listening..........2005-07-23
Just awesome, no-frills dance breaks. Clubbers will have heard it already. Headphonauts will buy it for the bleeps and chirps but end up sashaying across the floor in their swivel chairs. Dammit, they might even GET UP and dance. It's that good. You might think you didn't like techno, or electro, or even disco. Then you heard THIS...
For my money, this beats even the admittedly excellent follow-up, 'Eargasm'. That has more cochlea-twisting studio prankery, but this has that sawdust-on-the-floor, Flat-Eric-limbs-everywhere edge to it. If you know what I mean.
Only a CORPSE could fail to enjoy this.
wow, what else can I say.......2002-01-30
I was going to write a glowing review of this one, but the other reviews say it perfect. This is just an extremely tight and fun CD, great tracks mixed perfectly. This CD can make being stuck in rush hour traffic a joy, like the first time I heard the disc.
Breakbeat with history 'n' funk.......2002-01-02
Being realativly new to breakbeat i was totally taken with the prduction and the influences they emulated. A must for any dj who wants to get the dancefloor rockin!!
Plump Night Out is sure to please........2001-12-09
2 years ago nobody had even heard of the Plump DJs. The year 2000 is when they exploded on the scene. Their style of breakbeat is tough, dirty, and full of low-heavy bass. Although some could describe it as dark, I feel that it has a very funky and feel good vibe to it.
This CD contains an intro, 7 original tracks, and 5 remixes woven and blended together into a continuous solid mix. This album's awards include Pete Tong's 'Best Breakbeat Album', Timeout and Mixmag's breaks album of the year. Since their Finger Lickin' debut, the Plump DJs have won support from DJs as diverse as FatBoy Slim, Annie Nightingale, Boy George, Adam Freeland, Artful Dodger and even Sasha! Two of the tracks on this album were even featured in DTS surround in the Sony PS2 Game "SSX Tricky."
I definitely reccomend this CD to anyone who is looking for something different and new to add to their collection. An instant classic for the breakbeat genre.
Breakbeat for pure pleasure seekers.......2001-07-30
Finally, breakbeat has been delivered for the pure pleasure seekers, without the nu-school obsessiveness or party inanity. The Plump DJs deliver a dose of beats to those of us lamenting the dwindling genre that got our blood boiling in the first place, picking twelve of their original tunes and remixes whipped to delight and assuredly for the dance floor.
Low-slung basslines, chunky beats, and aimed to appeal, you get "Electric Disco," riding the deep frequencies to describe itself perfectly, and their own "No Way," a Janet Jackson take done futuristic funky. Also needing a mention are the spine-tingling minimal rumbler "Bumper" by Elektronauts and doses of invigorated old-school electro ("Fever") or funk ("Galaxy").
At a tight 60 minutes, the party wisely ends before the workout becomes a headache. For those wondering what existed between Fatboy Slim's factory tunes and Adam Freeland's serious bodyrockers - you've found the answer, plumped to perfection. Grade: A-

Simply fantastic.......2004-03-18
Thank you Plumps! Another masterpiece of the breakbeat genre, this CD never leaves my car (and sits next to Eargasm, also a masterpiece). If I had ANY complaint, it would be that as a DJ the songs are premixed so it'd be difficult to incorporate the tracks into a set... that said I have the vinyl of this as well which is unmixed.
A question, though... the song Electric Disco doesn't correspond to the song Electric Disco on the vinyl A Plump Night Out, and the Plumpy Chunks/Electric Disco single has yet a different song labelled as Electric Disco... will the REAL Electric Disco please stand up?

a must for house/breaks fans.......2001-01-02
Buy this album - it is the juice. I live in Australia, and these guys get spun so much it is unbelievable....it seems like now breaks/house dj can do a set with out using plump djs at least once...but hey I am not complaining. from the super funky to an unrecognisable remix of freestlyer's 'here we go', this cd taps into the funk centres of your brain, and dumps you on the other side, with a new religion - BREAKS, BREAKS, BREAKS
give peace a chance
