Customer Reviews:
Fabulous for any Broadway-lover.......2007-01-30
Packs into 5 CD's a sampling of Broadway tunes from the 20's thru (almost) today, mostly from original cast recordings. Includes not just well-known hits, but also some lesser-known gems. Sound quality is first rate, booklet is informative too. Have given this as a gift to several friends with rave reviews.
Top Shelf.......2007-01-04
This is THE definitive collection of Broadway hits. I have other collections, and none of them measure up. A great deal of care was obviously taken in compiling and presenting this box set. It covers a lot of ground, starting with some long-forgotten but still very enjoyable hits from the days of yore, and finishing with present-day favorites. To the best of my knowledge, the recordings are by those who made them famous. You won't be disappointed.
TERRIFIC CD'S.......2006-03-23
THESE BROADWAY MUSICALS CD'S ARE A BROADWAY LOVERS DREAM. WITH EACH SONG, MEMORIES COME FLOODING BACK. BOTH THE FAMILIAR AND THE FORGOTTEN SONGS ARE A TRUE LISTENING PLEASURE. IF YOU LIKE BROADWAY, YOU'LL LOVE THIS SET.
Great Collection of Broadways greatest Songs .......2005-06-14
This Collection was perfectly made it has almost all the most famous Broadway songs on this 5 cd set. The Music is great and has Broadways greatest treasures like "Memory""People""With One Look""Give my regards Too Broadway" just to name a few of this numerous cd set with over 100 songs. This is a great buy if you like musicals or The music of Broadway
Great Compilation!.......2005-01-17
If you are a fan of the Broadway Musicals, this is a collection that you should purchase. Since I got the 5 disc set I've enjoyed listening to it. The majority of the songs are done by the original singers. The collection is priceless considering that you will have over 100 songs from popular musicals since the beginning of Broadway

Described rather astutely as "The Laurel and Hardy of Danish electro pop," Junior Senior's "D-D-Don't Stop the Beat" is the coolest thing to come out of Denmark since Lego. Already huge in Scandinavia, the JS sound (think the Cramps, the B-52's, and Wham! in some gloriously incongruous pile-up) can't fail to paint a smile on the hardest of cynic's face. Fittingly their debut is full of perversely mad pop songs, referenced to the hilt and none too complex in production; for sheer goofy charm and jump-around madness, it's hard to beat. "Chicks and Dicks," an ode to misguided sexual attention, rocks along to 60s beach guitar and surfin' harmonies, while "Move Your Feet" is the sound of Fatboy Slim body-popping to "Club Tropicana." At turns clever, irreverent, and maddeningly catchy, this is a record from Denmark that other countries will want to listen to. --Paul Tierney

better than you would think.......2006-08-21
this is a weird cd b/c it is so hard to categorize. It is danceable, dorky, gay overtoned, cheesy, bubble gummish yet, it actually rocks! There's even cool, fuzzed out guitar all over it.
It cannt be for the dance crowd b/c of the cool guitar and references to 70's punk acts.
could it appeal to rockers? It is very danceable, makes you want to jump around your car while listening to it.
Is it for the gay crowd only? I don't think so b/c there is a call for girls.
Is it top 40 trash? No, it is too damn inventive!
"Coconuts" and "move your feet" are actually cool rock songs!
I think, what the other reviewer said, is true. This is danceable Cramps/Ramones/B-52/60's garage band music.
In conclusion, since it is difficult to be categorized, that means they are more original, less derivative and therefore this is a thumbs up cd.
It has great cross over appeal since it does rock, groove, twange and is very catchy. This is the ultimate guilty pleasure cd!
catchy, but borderline obnoxious.......2006-01-25
I've heard Junior Senior put on quite a show live, and it's easy to imagine while listening to this frenetic set, but just like conversations can come across as banal or simplistic when transcribed, "D-D-Don't Don't" definitely stutters, occasionally snagged in its own groove, with some "umm" and "y'know" peppering the mix as well. Still, while JS has some maturing to do before it reaches the level of a powerhouse like Basement Jaxx, there are standouts at least worth a download while you wait. With "Move Your Feet," Junior Senior crafted the most contagious, overlooked dance gem of 2003. Reminiscent of the Jackson 5, Ohio Players and Sacramento's !!!, the song blazes in a roller disco sort of way. "Chicks and Dicks" channels a '50s girls band sound with a '60s guys garage band intensity. And "Shake Your Coconuts" has the oddly tasty distinction of sounding like Buzzcocks' Pete Shelley fronting KC & the Sunshine Band. Sadly, much of the rest of the album, I've determined after repeated listens, is either filler or musical experiments better to have been aborted. "D-D-Don't" comes across in the same vein as Bis' frenetic beast "New Transistor Heroes," like a kid on two gallons of soda in a fingerpainting competition. It's fun stuff but it's got no soul.
Pretty decent dance music - definitely a guilty pleasure - 3.5 stars.......2005-12-30
Let it first be known that this album is VERY silly and cheesy. Don't listen to this expecting the next "Abbey Road." However, for the style of music that Junior Senior creates, it is pretty entertaining although kind of forgettable longterm (though there's an odd charm with some of the songs that make you like them, a sort of guilty pleasure). Unfortunately, the second track on the album, "Rhythm Bandits", has an EXTREMELY better single version than what's on the album which completely baffles me (it's one of my favorites by Junior Senior). Junior Senior is entirely about fun, and if you listen to it without that in mind then you'll be sorely disapointed. If you don't like pure fun and silly albums then you'll be disappointed. Not essential at all, but buy it if you are looking for a silly and dancy album or if you have nothing better to get.
Highlights include:
"Go Junior Go Senior"
"Move Your Feet"
"Shake Your Coconuts"
"Boy Meets Girl"
"Shake Me Baby"
"C'mon" (barely)
"Good Girl Bad Boy" (barely)
"Dynamite" (barely)
AWFUL!!!!!!.......2005-09-25
Don't even buy this album if you wanna save money. This is the worst album of all time and you will be disappointed if you hear this album. Believe me. No other album can compete against this album. Not any other album on this Earth, not albums in 50's,60's or 70's. No decade. The only good song is "Don't Stop the Beat". The song "Who Are You Gonna Do Tonight" is just plan nasty. It sounds stupid at that. Mark my words do not get this album!!!!
Yuck.......2005-08-15
Don't buy it, you'll regret it. I did. The title track is catchy for awhile. It eventually gets old. Besides, how cool can it be if VH1 used it in all their ads?
If you are looking for fun, unusual music to bring to a party, just to watch all the rap boys and girls freak out, purchase an album by The Soft Pink Truth. Their latest release "Do you want New Wave or do you want the Soft Pink Truth puts this watered down drizzle to shame.

Irresistible.......2005-07-29
From beginning to end this CD is pure delight. A great recording has great music, a great performance, and great sound; this one scores on all three counts.
Rodgers and Hammerstein's musicals dominated Broadway in the 1940s and 1950s, and American musical theater has produced no more consistently eloquent and durable voice than Richard Rodgers. From his fertile genius flowed a surprising number of memorable songs, many of which have passed into and become an accepted and beloved part of modern American culture.
This well-filled CD (77:36) features symphonic arrangements (all but two by Robert Russell Bennett) of the music from Oklahoma (1943), Carousel (1945), State Fair (1945), South Pacific (1949), The King and I (1951), Flower Drum Song (1958), and The Sound of Music (1959). All the great tunes are here in suites from each musical that average 10-12 minutes in length. The arrangements are expert: rich, varied, and colorful. The performances are polished, idiomatic, and irresistible; Kunzel and this orchestra are thorough masters of this kind of material. And Telarc's sound (recorded 1991) is state-of-the-art (engineer Michael Bishop deserves to take a bow).
In short, there's nothing here to cloud your listening pleasure (the only quibble I can imagine is that some of your favorites may not last long enough), so it's hard for me to envision anyone with ears and a taste for music who wouldn't enjoy this CD. Warmly recommended. Finally, if you like this one as much as I do, you might want to know that the same team has produced a companion volume, the Lerner & Lowe Songbook for Orchestra.
"Some Enchanted Evening" with Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops.......2003-12-26
Erich Kunzel's Rodgers and Hammerstein anthology with the Cincinatti Pops Orchestra is one of the best and most ravishing instrumental Rodgers and Hammerstein albums of all time. With sumptuous arrangements and warm, natural Telarc recording, this glorious 77-minute CD presents sweeping, melodic arrangements of over 60 Rodgers and Hammerstein selections, spanning eight scores, and Kunzel allows the Pops to play with a characterful and polished understanding of the Rodgers and Hammerstein idiom. The disc is enough to cheer you up on a dull day and make you smile, and it might even want to make you feel like a convert to Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals.
This CD has all the scores arranged chronologically. The OKLAHOMA! suite that opens this disc promises a feast for the senses, Kunzel ably evokes the territory's "bright, golden haze" in the way he conducts the various excerpts, until you feel the atmosphere of the country charm of the show, and the love-affair between Curly and Laurey. Then, in CAROUSEL, he ably evokes the pathos of this tragic R&H masterwork, especially in the truncated Waltz, but he leads a wonderfully melodic "June is Bustin' Out All Over" and a devotional "You'll Never Walk Alone." Although this suite does not include Billy's pivotal Soliloquy, it includes "If I Loved You" as an expression of his love for Julie, and within minutes you could be soaked in the ups and downs of the show's mood.
After a brief STATE FAIR suite, with sweeping renditions of "It Might As Well Be Spring" and "It's a Grand Night for Singing", we are brought into the disc's showstopping highlights. These highlights are the excerpts from SOUTH PACIFIC, THE KING AND I, and THE SOUND OF MUSIC. But yet Kunzel conducts the rest of the disc until the various suites amount to a series of showstoppers. These three suites present wonderfully-arranged versions of their many familiar classic songs, with well-played solos. The SOUTH PACIFIC suite presents the songs in chronological order, yet preserves the atmosphere of the show at the same time. Kunzel ably brings out the romance in "Some Enchanted Evening" and "Younger than Springtime," and contrasts it with the exotic and dreamlike "Bali Hai'i" and the comic "There is Nothing like a Dame" and "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair". Although the suite ends quietly with a reprise of "Dites-Moi" rather than the reprise of "Some Enchanted Evening," within minutes we are swept into the KING AND I suite. Kunzel ably brings out the Oriental pathos in this score, and he captures the warmth of Anna's rapport with the King's Siamese children in "Getting to Know You", and with the King himself in "Shall We Dance." There is also romance in the love ballads "I Have Dreamed" and "We Kiss in a Shadow." Similarly, in the selection from THE SOUND OF MUSIC, Kunzel conducts this until the orchestra soaks itself in the atmosphere of this Austrian R&H score. This SOUND OF MUSIC suite has more of a feel of the score compared to the bonus track on Sony's reissued version of the Broadway recording. You can almost feel as if you are following the progress of the Trapp family and how it lifts its spirits with the joy of music. Kunzel gives us a soaring version of the title song, and spirited versions of "Do-Re-Mi" and "My Favourite Things." He balances it with the open-air quality of "Edelweiss" and "The Lonely Goatherd." Although this suite could have included "Something Good," the love ballad written for the film, the three recollections of the songs that were cut from the movie only last for a while. And, the towering version of "Climb Every Mountain" crowns this portion of the disc, and this sumptuously-produced recording. But, I should also mention the infectuous FLOWER DRUM SONG medley, where Kunzel turns this underrated score into a work of art, until it convinces you to buy the cast recording. And, don't forget about the brief CINDERELLA WALTZ, too, when Kunzel conducts it magically, until you feel like you are in the company of Cinderella and the Prince. He is able to show how this R&H score marked a comeback for R&H after the failiures of Me and Juliet, and Pipe Dream.
Overall, this glorious Rodgers and Hammerstein recording is guarunteed to make you want to pucker your lips out for a whistle or sing along (to paraphrase another revew for Kunzel's Disney Spectacular disc) - even if this recording is music only, and as long as you know the words to the songs (and you might know a large handful of them already.) There is always a certain magic in this fine CD that makes you feel like you're sitting in the theatre watching these musicals, until it makes you feel like it is truly, to borrow two R&H song titles, "Some Enchanted Evening" and "Something Wonderful" to be in Kunzel's company for this R&H offering. It would certainly be one recording that could make you feel willing to buy the complete cast recordings of the shows. And I guaruntee that it will make you feel willing to pull out your existing copies of the cast recordings to listen to them again. I also guaruntee that it will be a cornerstone in any Rodgers and Hammerstein collection, just as it is in mine. Recommended heartily to any Rodgers and Hammerstein enthusiast and to fans of Erich Kunzel's work. And, you can play it while reading the Richard Rodgers biography, Musical Stages, until Rodgers himself would count this as his favourite disc in the afterlife.
By the way, most of the arrangements for the suites on this CD were done by the veteran R&H orchestrator Robert Russell Bennett, and it surely adds to the appeal of this recording. This itself is enough to amount to the icing on the cake, since Kunzel conducts them well on here, and since this recording still allows the suites to have the original theatrical atmosphere. And, although this recording is like the Mauceri collection of the Rodgers & Hammerstein overtures in compiling orchestral suites of Rodgers & Hammerstein, I think that I like the Kunzel recording even more because Kunzel has more magic in his conducting of these suites.
Excellent!.......2003-04-08
This is one of the best Erich Kunzel/Cincinnati Pops collections we own! A must for Rodgers and Hammerstein fans, too.
Great Arrangments.......2001-09-02
This is a first rate album with great arrangments and orchestrations. If you're a Rodgers and Hammerstein fan, you can't afford to miss this specatacular album

Don't Stop!.......2007-03-02
Just received my copy from amazon in the mail. Housed in a jewelcase with front & back inserts, this fun package came as a surprise before even listening to the fun mixes. The front cover art features the band member's legs. When you flip the box over, the picture continues but upside-down. I think this is a cool design concept. ;) The four-page booklet includes band & credits info. Disc is white with 'raised' blue graphics and a cyan-toned thumbnail of band. Titling is in red.
Tracks one and two are practically the same. I like the keyboard arrangements and appreciate these tracks for those arrangements alone. Track two contains less Sabina therefore making this an almost-instrumental version of track one. It could've been omitted from the tracklist and something more dancier could've been added instead. Track three is the album version, which is the best song on their debut CD. Track four has an extended 'beat-based' intro before the song actually starts. Track five features Sabina's 'breathy' acappella rendition. It is the original vocal layer. Since it is a vocal-only track, Sabina's smokey vocals are evidently clearer because there's nothing to distract the listener's ear. That's how I finally realized she was saying "......let's drink some tea and smoke some herb".

Buy it for collecting purposes, and to support this remarkable band. Not quite the clubbing single, I do appreciate it anyway.
Best girls.......2005-06-17
The first single from The Brazilian Girls are anything but funky and a little cheeky. Mixing a little of dance, electronic and laid-back lounge, the first single is a sweet fusion. It doesn't hurt that the lyrics go: "Don't stop, don't stop...just keep on going until I come" :)
Nothing beats the album version. Riton's Dub essentially make the song more danceable which also means it loses some of that funkiness of the original.

Afrika Bambaataa, the Godfather of Hip-hop, has worked with artists as soulful as James Brown, as pop friendly as Boy George, and as funky as Bootsy Collins. The Cosmic Force co-creator can look back on his illustrious career and say that he and his crew are responsible for influencing the fate of several sub-genres of music, including Miami and Atlanta bass, Latin freestyle, hip-hop, house, and early techno. 1982's "Planet Rock," featured on the Don't Stop Planet Rock EP, is the ultimate party-rockin' record. The lyrics tell groove junkies about a utopia where socializing and getting down are the only requirements for residency. The words may go in one ear and out the other, but the beat knocks holes in the back of heads and it cannot be ignored. DJ Magic Mike's "Bass in the Planet Mix" funkily incorporates just what the title suggests, while the classic mix, more electronic in feel, embodies an overwhelming digital atmosphere. --Asondra R. Hunter

Didn't have what I was looking for..........2001-10-18
I have been looking for a year for the electronic-tinged, vocoder-filled instrumental version of "Planet Rock" that used to be played everyday on the radio and have been unsuccessful. I thought I had finally found it when I came across this EP, however it was not there. I gave the recording three stars because I already have all these versions. My rating may not be fair because I was looking for a particular version that is unfortunately not included in this collection, however the song remains danceable and groundbreaking for its time on all the included versions. If you have only one or two versions of this mega-hit, get this EP.
"Planet Rock" gets the bangin' re-mix treatment!.......2001-09-12
Man, I don't see how the previous reviewers could diss this CD by giving it such low ratings. The Magic Mike re-mix is my favorite version because of the James Brown breakbeats he looped on top of the main rhythm. And the original 12" vocal version plus Bonus Beats 1 is reason enough to buy this CD. This is the song that everybody was rockin' during the summer of 82'. Classic jam that made all the b-boys and b-girls start breakin' and poppin'!
It just brings back the early sound and feel of hip hop that I miss so much. None of this "bling bling" crap that's going around now. This song gave birth to the entire "electro funk" scene which in turn influenced other styles of dance music like hard house, techno, etc. Add this to your collection of old school CD's and call yourself a true hip hop head!!!
Not really worth it.......2001-08-06
If I had to rate this album on only one of the tracks it would be number 6 and in that case it would get a 5 star rating. On the "Bass in the Planet Mix" we are given a treat from someone who is truly a standout in their field, Magic Mike. The other tracks are dry and out of touch with the traditional Planet Rock feel we are used to. I believe that Magic Mike almost takes the song to another level. 808 probably doesn't have any business touching this song nor do any of the other artists who serve up their humble offerings here. Of course, we are given the original version on the first track but outside of that the only other reason to buy this disc is Magic Mike's cut.
Stop! Stop that Music!.......2001-07-17
I have an extensive collection of music similar to this particular type of sound, however, I was largely disappointed when I heard this CD. I listen to... regularly and after I listened to Planet Rock, I bought it. This is not the tune Swedish Egil is spinning, nor ANYTHING like it. This CD is intrusive compared to today's techno sounds. Perhaps just ahead of its time then, it's beyond its time now. All of the songs are the same bad song, just louder. It doesn't carry you away, it sends you away...
great and unmatched.......2001-07-10
i have owned this cd for some time now and i still listen to it from time to time a must have if you like old school.

A bit childish, but a fun listen........2007-02-18
This is definitely bubblegum pop, but that's okay, because the girls know it and are not trying to make themselves feel grown up by singing about unnescesary things that they have most likely never experienced, like they have on past albums. My favorite song on this album is probably Hand In Hand, but I also really like You Found Me. I avoided listening to the Hard Knock Life cover for the first month that I owned this CD, but I finally did listen to it and I like to listen to it occasionally now.
This CD is an improvement from their earlier albums in that it's not an attempt at sounding grown up. It's fun to listen to when I'm on long road trips or just feel like having fun.
Welcome Janet............2006-09-03
Let me start off by saying this: Play has REAL talent. I saw them sing live with their new member Janet (who replaced Faye, she chose to pursue her education,) and they sounded great. I loved Faye and was a bit nervous before I heard the CD, not knowing if I would like "the new girl". But. if anyone replaced Faye, I am glad it was Janet.
everGirl 9/10- A good start to the CD. The fast beats and great vocals make this song dance-able and fun to listen to. About being a girl and believing in yourself.
Don't Stop the Music 10/10- A great song with a great message. Play didn't stop the music after Faye left, so this song is in honor of her and Janet.
Every Little Step 8/10- I strongly dislike Aaron Carter, who is featured in this song. But if you like him, or can overlook the fact that he is singing and just enjoy the track, you will like this song. It's a good remake, I just don't like the words or how they are constantly repeated too much, hence the 8/10.
Girls Can Too 10/10- A rockish song about being a girl, finding your place in the world, and being happy. It sounds a bit like Hilary Duff's "Party Up", but this song is high- powered and fun to listen (and dance) to.
Hand in Hand 10/10- A sweet ballad, about telling your loved one to trust you, and loving that person, a traditional love song, but their sweet voices make this one special.
You Found Me 9/10- About being in the dark, and someone finally finding you and loving you. The song sounds a bit weird, so the words are what make it good.
It's The Hard Knock Life 10/10- A great remake of the classic song from "Annie". I especially love this song because all of the girls sing multiple times. Often you only hear Janet's and Anais's voice, and Rosie and Anna only sing a couple of lines. Not all the time, but most of it.
Ain't No Mountain High Enough 10/10- A fabulous remake!! I liked it better with Faye, but this has kind of become Play's anthem, being on their second album "Replay" also. Again, I am glad Janet gets the honor of singing it, because she has talent.
Seven- 20/10- BEST SONG ON HERE!!!!! The strange beats make it awesome, and the lyrics are the best!!!! My favorite on the album.
Another Love Story 10/10- A great closing about two people who have lost people they love, but then decide to give it a shot with eachother.
Even though Play has called it quits for now their music is still awesome, they are still great people, and they will alwys have fans.
A Little Dissapointment.......2006-05-14
After their much more mature Replay, I was looking forward to getting Play's CD, Don't Stop The Music. When I finally listened to it, I was dissapointed. The songs were definetly geared toward younger girls. Here's my song by song review.
1) Ever Girl---6/10
Really cheesy. (Takes notes, you're in everSchool...)
2) Don't Stop The Music---10/10
Love it!!! Great to sing and dance to plus the melodies and harmonies rock.
3) Every Little Step---6/10
A remake, and it would be better if it didn't have Aaron Carter in it.
4) Girls Can Too---7/10
Fun to dance to, and it has a great melody, but cheesy. (I just love trying the things that are new...)
5) Hand In Hand---10/10
Killer harmonies and a beautiful melody combine to make a sweet ballad anyone can sing to.
6) You Found Me---9/10
Great to dance to.
7) Hard Knock Life---8/10
I don't know why they would put this on a CD, but I like their version.
8) Ain't No Mountain High Enough---6/10
Why would they put this on a CD again just because it is the version with Janet?
9) Seven---5/10
A rather strange song...I don't care for it.
10) Another Love Story---9/10
Finally, Anna and Rosie get solos!!! Plus I love the melody.
I recommend this CD to anyone who is a true Play fan and won't judge them based on 1 CD.
BAD ATTEMPT TO "DON'T STOP THE MUSIC".......2006-04-29
Now, I love PLAY. They are one of my favorite girl groups yet. However, in pure honesty - the album wasn't so good. For a couple of 15 and 16 year olds, the song choices were terrible. Their second ablum " Replay" was even better than the third (this one). When the album was released in 2004, I was 14. Now, I am 16. I still think that some of the songs are childish and don't sound too good. However, they can sing!!!! Their songs like "Evergirl", "Girls Can To", "It's A Hard Knock Life", "Seven", and a few other songs were too young and didn't really make sense. They were too old to make such kiddie songs, unlike on their album "Replay" where they showed a much older side. Also, they already made the songs "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", and "It's A Hard Knock Life" before. They should have not re-made the songs. "Don't Stop The Music", "Hand In Hand", "Another Love Story", and "You Found Me" were the songs with the best vocal performances and that fit their ages at the time of the album. I really love those songs, and I am a HUGE FAN OF THEM. However, this album with new member Janet Leon just wasn't the best thing for me. However, if you love pop music like me, I would suggest that you buy it. They are still orginal and talented. My only dislikes on the album was the remake of the same songs that appeared on other albums featuring them and some of the song choices. Their remake of Bobby Brown's 'Every Little Step' was ok, even though they put their own style into it. This just honestly wasn't their best album, even though I am a true PLAY fan at heart.

Over and over and over and over and over and over..........2000-11-18
I bought this CD by mistake. I was trying to get "Don't Stop" by the Freestylers. Appearantly they have another song called "Don't Stop the Rock" which is feature PROMINANTLY (understatement) on this CD.
I've tried to listen to it quite a few times in my car, but it just seems to be the same song over and over again. Sure, they remix it nine ways to Sunday, but deep down, it's still the same song.
Don't make the same mistake I did. If you're looking for the popular song I was looking for, check out the "We Rock Hard" CD by the Freestylers.

S Clubbin'!.......2007-07-01
I LOVE S Club(7)!!!!! "Don't Stop Movin'" is an AWESOME track! And who doesn't love a BONUS track?
Don't Stop Movin To This Funky, Funky Beat!.......2007-06-21
Don't Stop Movin' is S Club 7's fifth and final single released in the United States.
1. Don't Stop Movin' - 10/10 - If given the chance, this song could have gone on to be huge hit here in the States. The song is extremely catchy, and Bradley and Jo mesmerize you with their vocals. This is one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite, songs by the band.
2. Don't Stop Movin' (Jewels & Stone Radio Mix) - 10/10 - This track is simply a remix of track 1. It's about the same length as the original song, and nothing much is different except it has a faster beat to it. It's still very memorable.
3. Right Guy - 8/10 - Not the best song by the band, and I believe a better track could have been placed here. The song has a sort of Latin feel to it, but it's nothing spectacular.
4. Don't Stop Movin' (Music Video) - 10/10 - The music video for Don't Stop Movin' can be watched by putting this CD into your computer's disc drive. I love the video as it has really exotic and fun dancing with a lot of vibrant colors.
All in all, this is a great single to pick up. If you like the songs you find here or are interested in more by S Club 7, I would recommend listen to their album 'Don't Stop Movin''. The album features the song Don't Stop Movin' and many others.
Don't stop Movin' is awesome!.......2003-08-09
Don't Stop Movin' is awesome! It was their 3rd #1 hit in UK. It even made the the weeks non-consectutive!! It's my fav. song by them. The Jewels and stone mix is even funkier. I like that too. Right Guy is really good. Even though it's not a chart topper.... we all love it! I know 4 songs for [cheap] sounds a bit over weighted but it's worth it!
QUICK, Somebody get me an EXTENDED VERSION!.......2003-02-28
No need for a remix here unless it is on the original version with all the original instruments, same tempo, same everything! Sorry Hex Hector or Thunderpuss this song is not a club song anyway, it is a party song, and a darn good one at that. I beats out everything by Backstreet Boys, Britney, Nsync or Mandy Moore in the feel good song department!
While S Club may not be my favorite pop band, they have beat out the competition with this song. This one caught on at first hearing - and I had not even heard it from the beginning. I was camped out on Radio Disney until it came on again. Lucky for me the song ended with "S Club beat" because the radio dj did not say who the song was by. The cd single was in my possesion the next day.
All I can say about why this song has rocketed up to number 1 as my favorite Feel Good song is because it has something to do with the beat and it's rhythm patterns. While I have many feel good songs I enjoy, not many pack such a potent punch as this one. Groove Is In The Heart by Deee-lite are perhaps the last song to vibe like this one.
As for the remix included on the single, it does not do this song any justice. What I would really want is an extended version of the original version. While the remix takes up the tempo and follows the original rhythm patterns it seems to take away from the "feel good" vibe that the original version has.
THE ULTIMATE FEEL GOOD SONG........2003-02-25
I heard this on Radio Disney and had goose bumps from head to toe! I am sure glad the song said "S Club Beat" at the end because the DJ did not say the title or artist.
I have not had so much fun with a song like this in years. I mean there are fun pops but this one THRILLED me more that an amusement park rollercoaster. I cannot say that I am all that familiar than this group and other songs by them are fine, but this song shot down everything by Britney Spears, Xtina Aguilera, Anastacia, Backstreet Boys and Nsync as far a being a feel good song that makes me want to boogie! S Club may not be as good as those artists mentioned but they sure beat out the competition here with this one!
The remix, while taking up the tempo and basically having the same melodies but with different instruments and a 4/4 beat it cannot touch the original in the excitement deptartment. Look, if Anastacia can't touch it no one can! I am loving it!!!!
