It's dull and dead.......2007-07-11

I bought this hoping for exposure to new artists I wasn't familiar with....and I couldn't tell one track from the next. There is no personality, no energy....just it all sounds the same with barely a flicker of interest or anything to capture my imagination. It's even too bland for Celine Dion to like.

My advice? Buy something with a heart. Notice there aren't and samples here for you to check out...that should give you a HUGE clue!

yes it's trance.....but.......2006-11-16

Don't get me wrong, this _is_ a trace CD. What Razed in Black has done is darken it up a fair bit and that is a GoodThing(tm). I mostly spin electro-industrial and futurepop so a lot of this stuff won't be immediately useful in one of my sets. On it's own it's a pretty damn good set to put on to listen to. Some of the transitions could have been managed better but there are quite a few that blend seamlessly. It's usually on rotation in my car or at my workstation at work.

My o my what people can sell with the word, 'goth'... This is basically trance music; get that in your head. TRANCE. It's freakin' TRANCE. I hate to use stereotypes but it helps in describing this: this is an album cybergoths would enjoy more as opposed to rivetheads. If you're looking for hard EBM; don't buy this. If you're looking for ex-industrial gone medicocre future-pop like VNV Nation; then by all means buy this. I don't have a problem with trance I like it along with metal and industrial, ebm, etc. But I can't tolerate something that is sold as something it is not ^o^....then again I've never heard of the terms 'dark trance' and 'neo-goth' so maybe this is what it is supposed to sound like ^_^
