Minogue Magic.......2007-07-17
This 2-disc collection is quite possibly the best compilation of pop music ever put together. It's my favorite pop CD, especially the first disc. I don't know why Kylie didn't make it bigger over here back in the day; she is a Pop Princess if ever there was one. The first disc is my favorite of the two; it consists of the 80s stuff and has some of the catchiest beats of anything I've heard. I especially love: I Should Be So Lucky, What Do I Have to Do, Wouldn't Change a Thing, Hand on Your Heart, Got to Be Certain, and Je Ne Sais Quo. But don't count disc 2 out, no way. It has the more recent stuff Kylie's done as her "comeback" second phase, and it definitely grows on the listener. It is Kylie being more independent, including having a hand in a lot of the writing, and shows she is truly an artist in her own right. I really like Giving You Up on the second disc. This collection shows Kylie has definitely had staying power. Great work, Kylie. Fans of female pop singers must have this collection.
kylie mimnogue is the ultimate.......2007-07-17
utimate kylie has 33 sogs on 2 cds. on cd 1 you get i should be so lucky, the loco motion, better the devil you know, shocked, give me just a little more time, hand on your heart, i wouldn't change a thing, and celebration. on cd 2 you get i believe in you, can't get you out of my head ,love at first sight(a different song from the one on kylie.),slow, choclate, did it again, and where the wild roses grow.listen to this album and hear some ultimate music! ed wilson
non-compatible, protected player.......2007-06-18
Don't buy it. I would give it zero stars if there were a zero option.
The music is good, but the manufacturer encoded the cd's with a custom music player. You CANNOT use your own mp3/cd player. Why these idiots went to this trouble is beyond human reason. These aren't rocket science secrets, it's MUSIC PEOPLE!
I was never so frustrated trying to listen to these cd's. It FORCES you to install their own player, which has some privacy and other software warnings. I immediately uninstalled it.
Don't buy it.
Ultimate Doesn't Even Begin to Describe............2007-04-26
Sometimes I hate being an American! This is my thought when I think about how enjoyable this 2 disc collection of Kylie Minogue's greatest hits really is! Besides her LOCOMOTION and the FEVER ALBUM, America really heard little of Australia's princess in recent years! And what a shame that is! I've always known her to be a gay icon but I took that status with a grain of salt since there is nothing gay men love then a hot pop diva, but ohhh I underestimated Kylie!
I bought the CD on my last trip to the UK and I have to say I was only familar with BETTER THE DEVIL YOU KNOW, which is still a favorite of mine with the most amazing dance beats, LOCOMOTION, I JUST CANT GET YOU OUTTA MY HEAD, I SHOULD BE SO LUCKY, LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT, and COME INTO MY WORLD. This CD has so much more to offer and it didn't take me long to discover the other gems on this CD!
SHOCKED, what can you say about a song that makes you incredibly happy and makes you dance like a maniac while driving to work everyday! One of the best songs on the first disc. Another favorite of the first disc is HAND ON YOUR HEART! The melody on this song is soo catchy you'll be humming it through even the most stressful situations! Other highlights of the first disc include, ESPECIALLY FOR YOU, JE NE SAIS PAS POURQUOI, and NEVER TOO LATE!
The second disc opens with a song that I was familar with but did not realize it was Miss Minogue! I BELIEVE IN YOU may even be the strongest song on either one of the discs! It is so unlike any other dance song I've danced/listened to and is infectious! It will have you dancing in the most random of places!! Of course you get the hits from the FEVER ALBUM such as CANT GET YOU OUTTA MY HEAD, LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT, COME INTO MY WORLD, AND IN YOUR EYES! These songs really show how she's grown musically since 1987!
Other highlights on the 2nd disc are as follows RED BLOODED WOMAN, SPINNING AROUND (another song I'd heard before but never connected to Kylie and a great dance tune!!), PLEASE STAY, and BREATHE. I even came to enjoy WHERE THE WILD ROSES GROW, not b/c its a bad song just b/c it is such a haunting song. Kylie's vocals on the song even bring her into character as Eliza Day!
Finally, this CD is a must for any DIVA fan or fan of really ecclectic music! Kylie lacks the "in your face"-ness of Madonna and has Cher's staying power! She's magical! Well worth the extra money for the "import" price!
No Talent.......2007-01-25
I don't understand all these fans who act like Kylie is more talented than Britney Spears. Let's compare:
-Britney can dance REALLY WELL, Kylie can not
-Britney had her first self-penned #1 hit at age twenty-two ("Everytime"). Kylie didn't have her first self-penned #1 until age age 35 ("Slow").
-Neither of them can really sing, but Britney isn't as squeaky as Kylie at least.

Ms. Minogue's story.......2005-09-03
I am not her fan, but I must admit that I like a couple of songs
This collection enables Dance, Pop, Ballads and even R&B, I must mention that I am not a pop fan (Y'all know why) but Kylie and Madonna are rescueables of this gender. Disc 1 includes her hits from 1987 to 1992 and Disc 2 includes from 1994 to 2005, rare remixes and edited versions.
4 example "Shocked" will remind you to Madonna and even the Mariah Carey's 12" mix of "Emotions" Even has a funky rap

I remember roller skating to Locamotion!.......2005-08-15
I giggle everytime I think about this CD. As a kid I used to remember " Locamotion " coming on every Friday when I went rollerskating. The first cd in the 2 cd set lets you run down memory lane...and then the second cd makes you feel like you could open up a dance club in your own apartment.
I enjoy Kylie's music without guilt. I don't feel she is too raunchie or explicit. This cd set was well worth the price.
From cheesy starlette to dance diva.......2005-06-16
It's already seventeen years of Kylie Minogue's career. This compilation shows the whole evolution of this artist from cheesy starlette to dance diva. This is a standard international version of this title.
It's hard to believe today, but Minogue recorded her first songs only because someone asked her for doing it. The rest is history. She became one of the most famous artists in history of music, even though unfortunately she didn't manage to achieve this status in the U.S.A.
And that's just the main reason to buy this double CD set here in the States. It's about time to discover her most important works which made her an icon of pop culture outside this country.
This set contains 33 songs, including 2 brand new - especially marvellous "I Believe In You". The first disc sums up the years 1987-1992 - time of creative captivity, when Kylie sang all what she was told and she had nothing to say because everything was under control of extremely successful UK producers Stock-Aitken-Waterman, whose simple catchy songs then conquered the hearts of teenagers all over the world.
An the second one sums up the years 1994-2005 - time of music freedom, independence and above all maturity, when Kylie started to discover new sounds and also brand new audience, what brought her a big respect in music showbusiness.
In general we can find on this set almost all from thirty nine Minogue's UK singles, but it's very weird, because in total there is almost forty minutes of free space, so all the singles could have been put on it. The biggest mistake is a lack of astonishing 1991 hit "If You Were With Me Now" recorded with Keith Washington. And just like it was for example on German edition, record company should put also Kylie's local hit, which in the U.S.A. was "It's No Secret" from her first album. And then it would be a perfect compilation with forty tracks!
Anyway, it's a well done compilation, which Kylie's American fans should buy at once to discover at last why she is the second Madonna overseas.
kylie rocks.......2005-04-02
I LOVE THIS CD IT IS VARY GOOD I THINK KYILE IS A VARY GOOD SINGER
LOVING KYLIE MINOGUE.......2005-03-12
Kylie Minogue's last four records have been simply sassy and bold. She turly knew how to make a comeback and make the best of it. Since Minogue's departure from her SAW years(late 80's early 90's producers), her music has exploded in the most unique and clever dance music to storm into the radio waves in years. Kylie surely could clame to be the queen of new dance music. Her classy approach of rhythm and melody is just a pleasure. This ULTIMATE collection includes all her hits from the 80's to 2000's, sadly for many who got to met Minogue's music in her late years would be horrified by her early takes, ok many know that the 80's where cheesy but SAW production is the KING of cheesyness and corny. So better if you skip the CD 01 and concentrate your energy on the CD 02, wich includes the early take BREATHE an imaginative track that was ahead of is time, CONFIDE IN ME a dramatic midtempo love song, SPINNING AROUND her comeback song, a pure new disco anthem, extremely chilling. ON A NIGHT LIKE THIS a beautifully done sad dance track, PLEASE STAY a simple spanish flavored track, KIDS duet with Robbie Williams, a pop-rock take, CAN'T GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD her INTERNATIONAL break out, classy, dance, clever. IN YOUR EYES a pure dance love song, LOVE AT FIRST SITE a retro feeling, very cheerful one. COME INTO MY WORLD this is just outrageous. SLOW an atari a like beat tune, sassy and daring. RED BLOODED WOMAN Minogue's venture into more POP airwave. CHOCOLATE can this be more sassy, one of Kylie's best. I BELIEVE IN YOU a total retro-80's dance new wave track. GIVING YOU UP the best new track, so funky. In all this is a most have to any euro-dance lover and classic compilation. *****FIVE STARS to Miss Kylie for been beautiful, talented and classy.

Can't get her out of your head.......2005-02-01
Many people here in Canada didn't hear anything from the dirty-disco-dancefloor-diva before her 2001 hit 'Can't get you out of my head', and they might be kinda disapointed.
Most of the songs on this album are kitch, but in general I like it. The drastic change between disc 1 & 2 really feels good though. She gained maturity, but still sounds naive but oh so cute. I love her.
Whenever you feel sad or depressed, my diagnosis is a good dose of Kylie Minogue !
All Hail Kylie, The NEW Queen Of Pop!.......2004-12-13
That's right folks, there has been a change! There is a saying in the music industry, that you can't really judge how much of an impact a recording artist has had until you look at their comprehensive Greatest Hits album. If it was just a retrospective album I would say the competition between her and Madonna would still be close but Kylie would STILL be a hit or two away from passing her. BUT, the addition of "I Believe In You" on the album pushes Kylie WAAAY far ahead of anything Madonna has done in the last few years. In fact, "I Believe In You" is the best song I have ever heard, plain and simple. It's better than "Can't Get You Out Of My Head", it's better than "Love At First Sight", it's better than "Slow". Like another reviewer said, if "I Believe In You" and by extension "Ultimate Kylie" isn't a hit here in the states, then I have lost faith in the taste of the American public.
Well..........2004-12-09
Kylie Monogue is one of those artists that make you a bit fearful to admit you're Australian. Depending on the company you keep, you'll either be -
a. Forced into a discussion on her work which the person you're talking to thinks is magnificnet, or
b. laughed at.
So let's cut to the chase. Kylie is a former soap-star who has had a far longer musical career than she has deserved, and thirty-three tracks is a little too much to stomach. There are some okay moments on here, but they're few and far between, and in all honesty even they aren't all that crash hot. The only standout I would be able to pick is "Where The Wild Roses Grow" (what did you expect?) and that's more due to Nick Cave's participation, so...
Kylie Monogue has a good voice. It's a pity that the majority of songs on this massive retrospective fail to utilise it. And that the majority of them are actually just crap songs. Consider this an amazing look back on a career of wasted potential. By all means, if you're a Kylie fan or like manufactured pop, then knock yourself out. But I think Kylie's probably past the point where she's going to earn herslef any new fans.
I'd give it 10 STARS if I could!!!.......2004-12-02
Not since Madonna's "Immaculate Collection" has such an impressive body of work been displayed in the world of pop music. Kylie has compiled an arsenal of hits from the late 80s up til today. All the big ones are here from "I Should Be So Lucky" to "Shocked" to "Confide In Me" to "Put Yourself In My Place" to "Spinning Around" to "Can't Get You Out of My Head" to "Chocolate"!!! Whew, I love it. There are also two, very high energy new tracks. The fantastic "I Believe In You" and the incredibe (and being overlooked) "Giving You Up". It is impossible not to dance to these tracks. If you like pop mucis at all, this album is a must!!!!!
Fabulous!.......2004-11-30
This is yet another Kylie greatest hits package, but this is the first one feature hits from all phases of her career from the SAW bubblegum years to the experimental Deconstruction years to the thrilling dance-pop in which Kylie elevated herself into Madonna heights.
Disc One features the Stock-Aitken-Waterman productions including "I Should Be So Lucky", "The Locomotion", and the fabulous hits "Better The Devil You Know", "Step Back In Time" and "Shocked", all to keep the party going. Unfortunately two of Kylie's worst singles, "Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi" and "Tears In My Pillow" are featured here but they were actually big hits in their heyday so that's the reason why they're here. Disc One basically gathers up the biggest of Kylie's early hits so fans may be disappointed that they don't get "It's No Secret" or one of Kylie's greatest songs, "Finer Feelings" which was one of the first songs to introduce a more sophisticated and sexy Kylie.
The second disc starts off strongly with "I Believe In You" a stunning dance-pop ditty in which Kylie collaborates with the Scissor Sisters, and it's a great combination. The CD then launches into Kylie's world smash, "Can't Get You Out of My Head", which has been overplayed but still sounds fresh today. It's disappointing that both "Love At First Sight" and "Please Stay" are featured here in their album versions and not their popular single versions. It's also odd that Kylie's mid-90s material, save for "Confide In Me" is pushed to the end of the album, not interspersed with her recent smashes. But you can't go wrong with this two-disc collection that will be a party staples for years.
