If you already like their stuff, this is a good one to have..........2007-07-09
But if you don't, this won't convert you. Once you get past the couple of "club" hits, the rest of the album is just more of the same. Daft Punk fans already know this, and like it, but newer fans will be wondering what's going on.
Almost perfect........2006-11-01
To me, Daft Punk represents the best in electronic/house music. For novices this is a great way to get into a band that I feel is often overlooked. Perhaps because electronic music nowadays isn't really being listened to that much. Back in the mid to late 90's electronic music acts such as Daft Punk, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers and Basement Jaxx were flying high because the music was in style, today it's sort of an acquired taste. Given most of these bands material of late isn't up to par, including Daft Punk themselves. Before 'Human After All' came out I honestly didn't think these guys were capable of making a less than stellar album. I was proven wrong.
For all the backlash 'Human After All' gets it's not by any means terrible, but just simply not as good as Homework and Discovery. However, the sound of a dwindling fanbase must've been deafening to the record label. So the time was right to release this 'best of' compilation in order to reel in new fans since the "old" ones probably have gone off to greener pastures ( i.e. LCD Soundsystem). We get introduced to a lost classic from the earliest stage of the band, Musique, a b-side to the first single 'Da Funk' and a pleasant surprise to those who haven't heard it. The next batch of songs are very familiar to fans and somewhat to fairweather fans, now my only gripe is something I noticed others have had a similar complaint about, and that is "why isn't Digital Love and Aerodynamic included?". Now those two tracks were singles and to me the fact that those are not there takes away one star from this rating. Since you want to give novices a chance to get the "best of" of a band, you must put in the "best tracks", makes sense right? I would've taken out Human After All and Something About Us, basically because the quality of the previous tracks outweigh these. A nice addition is the inclusion of three remixes from the Daft Club release, good choices too. Overall, you have pretty much the meat and potatoes of an excellent group that deserves better recognition and this proves why.
Daft funk........2006-10-18
Some may ask why, but I say bring on a collection like this. Why not? This is primo music. Is it techno or electronica, who cares, just dance and enjoy. My biggest complaints are, why six tracks from "Homework", and only three from "Discovery"? Also, some of these songs like "Rollin' & Scratchin'" and "Robot Rock" are SO repetitive (I know that's the point), they get old by the three minute mark. Yet, other tracks like "Around The World" and "One More Time" are perfection, hence the classics they are. One other disappointment....where the hell is "Digital Love"? That song should be here before many of these. Still, these are all good at the least, and it's a good sampling of their three albums. Toss on a few remixes to choice tracks like "Da Funk" and "Human After All", and you've got a collection even a robot could love. There's also a deluxe edition of this with videos, but hey, that's what Youtube is for.
The best of the best.......2006-06-29
If you're looking for a comprehensive greatest hits collection from daft punk then this is it! Yeah greatest hits can be all about cashing in but for casual daft punk fans this is ideal! You get all their "best" songs in one shot plus some little additional remixes. It is true that perhaps the track the music sounds better with you should've been added but hey! no greatest hits is perfect.
Daft Cash-In.......2006-05-03
Let's set it out right from the start: Daft Punk have never been the most prolific dance act. Where Mylo could create a rich triple album of his remixes and hits from the last two years alone, Daft Punk's picks from three studio albums over the last decade barely fill a hits collection. This could have something to do with the absurd and mysterious French duo, consisting of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, spending as much time on cartoon productions and furniture design as they have on musical output, although some doubters might suggest the band are simply lazy or have lacked fresh ideas since they burst onto the scene in 1996 with Homework. The muted response to Human After All's release in 2005 certainly indicated the latter may be true, although rumours persisted the album was just an expensive practical joke from the enigmatic pair. Daft Punk's record label Virgin sure don't seem to be laughing, rush-releasing Musique Volume 1 1993-2005 with no new music and little to entice Daft Punk's long-term fans to purchase this collection aside lesser-known remixes if Ian Pooley, Gabrielle and Scott Grooves. While classics such as One More Time, Around The World and Da Funk make up the dozen Daft Punk songs included here, this disc is so light on personal victories that it's surprising Thomas Bangalter's hit under the Stardust nom de plume, Music Sounds Better With You, wasn't dusted off and included here. Even a remix disc would have been a worthy addition, but as it stands this collection is punkin' daft. Memo to Air - don't make the same mistake as your froggy countrymen.

5 Stars, But...............2007-06-16
If you own ATB's previous cds, you'll already have many of the tracks. It is nice to have his hits all on one cd though. in this compilation, it's cool to see how ATB's sound has evolved over time.
Right on par.......2007-01-08
I wasn't an ATB fan before but I had discovered 'Long way home' through Pandora and it just filled my soul so much that I had to get the song. After sampling the rest of the cd, I decided to buy it and haven't been disappointed. It's in constant rotation on my playlist with the following track ranks:
5 Stars: Long way home, I don't wanna stop, Don't stop
4 Stars: Long way home (orig mix), trilogie pt. 2, Ecstasy, Hold you, Let u go,
3 Stars: Humanity, Let U go (reworked), believe in me, take me over, here with me, marrakech, In love with the DJ, You're not alone, 9pm Till I come, Believe in me (DJ Atoine)
and the other 5 tracks are 2 stars.
That's a pretty good ratio for a 17 track cd. Definitely worth it!
One of the better albums I've bought in the last few years.......2007-01-07
I have over 1,000 CDs and this is one of the few that I can listen from beginning to end, over and over again. Several songs are classics in my opinion: "Hold You," "You're Not Alone," "Ecstasy," "In Love With the D.J.," "Long Way Home." If you're not familiar with ATB, this album is a great introduction.
ATB's Best.......2006-04-29
Wow this cd is great it has 6 brand new songs one remix and all atb's greatest it cannot be beat.
Humanity,Believe in Me, Trilogy Pt.2, Take me over, Far Beyond, and here with me are the six new songs are the are in the same ranking as Ecstasy, in quality. these songs are so full of sound that even a person who doesnt normaly like techno would be impressed. The new mix of Let U Go is great for trance lovers it is more acoustic and slower than the original version.
After those first seven songs come Ecstasy, Marrakech and In Love With the DJ. each has a very full sound to it (and is some of the best quality iv heard in a long time).
And after that comes the classic ATB songs such as Dont stop, the summer, 9 PM (till I come) and so on. this cd is great for those first time listeners or for those that are hudge ATB fans. I completly support buying this CD.
Great best of,..........2006-01-29
I really enjoy the sound of ATB. This cd gives you the songs that we know from the radio plus a few new songs which I really enjoyed. I definitely recommend this CD if you are a fan of ATB. It's a mix some trance and house with a pop edge too.

Album Description
Their Law showcases the career to date of The Prodigy, via the tracks that changed the face of British music. Since their formation in 1990 The Prodigy have released four albums, numerous singles, been number 1 in 27 countries simultaneously with their incomparable Fat Of The Land masterpiece, toured the world with their incendiary live show, made groundbreaking videos, shaken things up musically and socially and been unafraid to court controversy. And they've always done it in their own formidable way - as highlighted on Their Law. XL. 2005.
Customer Reviews:
Good Overview.......2006-06-06
The Prodigy were a great singles band and the proof is in this compilation which contains basically everything a casual fan would want. I have to take a star off though for a couple of reasons. First, the non-inclusion of "Fire" and "Baby's Got A Temper" is a shame and secondly, the version of "Poison" on here must be a single mix or something because it's not the version I remembered from Music For The Jilted Generation (the intro isn't as good).
Overall a good compilation and a good substitute for their albums, which can be a bit tiring at times if you're not a fan of the genre generally.
They did that???.......2006-05-25
This collection really drives home the reality that The Prodigy solidified and invented much of what we hear in today's dance music. It's based solidly on the rave movement of the late 80s, then goes beyond that. Reminiscent of Drum and Bass sometimes, Hardcore, and their music is, of course, a predecessor to the modern breakbeat sounds we hear coming out of Europe and Florida. This is a classic collection from a classic electronic group that deserves attention.
I am feeling old.............2006-03-22
My daughter is 17 years old and she asked me about this album and I told her "BUY IT". I listened with her and it reminded me of my rave days back in the UK. It is awesome dance music. I didn't feel that it had aged all that much, it still sounded pretty fresh.
An Essential Album. .......2006-03-21
As a huge fan of The Prodigy, it's hard to find the right way to review this phenomenal collection. Do I review it as a fan or as a casual music lover? Because this album spans their entire career I think it's necessary that this review also span what brought us to this point at least.
Most Americans only have a passing knowledge or memory of the Prodigy when they seemingly invaded MTV and the radio airwaves in the late nineties with their monster hits "Firestarter", "Breathe", and the hugely controversial "Smack My Bitch Up". If you haven't heard of them since, it's not your fault. Following the milestone release of "Fat of the Land", which went number one in forty countries, The Prodigy went into a long hibernation. Prior to "The Fat of The Land", however, The Prodigy made a name for themselves in the underground rave scene of the late eighties and early nineties with the 1992 release of "Experience", followed by the hugely successful "Music for the Jilted Generation" which featured, what many consider the Prodigy's calling card, the single 'Voodoo People', made popular by the cult film "Hackers".
In 2002, seemingly out of nowhere, The Prodigy released the single "Baby's Got A Temper" and it seemed that after a five-year absence, the Prodigy were back in form. That single, however, was to be the last gasp of a dying era. Leading man Liam Howlett (not the guy with the horns) decided that particular single to be his 'wake up call' that a change was due. Not content with trying to rehash the success of "Fat of the Land" with a sequel, Liam scrapped the work he had done on a follow up album and started anew, sans vocalists Keith Flint (the one with the horns) and Maxim.
After a seven-year hiatus, "Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned" was released in late 2004 with hardly any American publicity. The album was poorly received by most, being a spiritually solo effort on the part of Liam Howlett with only a handful of outside collaborators, it was perhaps a departure from what many expected from the mad mind who unleashed "Fat of the Land" upon the world. That sentiment, however, is a testament to the essence of The Prodigy. Unlike other bands who are content with treading on the same waters of success, The Prodigy have always forced themselves to evolve and push the envelope and that is precisely what keeps their fans coming back for more after sixteen years.
"Their Law: The Singles" is a mix of many styles and genres that are almost impossible to define or categorize. You shouldn't try either. The music is daring and wild and truly inspired. From the rave era classics "Out of Space" and "Charly", to the sinister, hip hop inspired favorite "Poison", all the way to the recent World War 3 inspired epic "Spitfire", you really cannot find a single boring track. The one glaring omission from the album, "Baby's got a Temper", is missed, but in the grand scheme of things, The Prodigy present to us their proudest efforts. Disc two features two new tracks, various b-sides, a few unreleased remixes, and a taste of what the Prodigy can do as a live act with four live recorded tracks. These extras compliment the first disc well and while a casual fan may not realize the significance of the tracks, the second disc is just as hard hitting and furious as the first.
In terms of historical importance, I dare say that The Prodigy are on a level with The Clash as one the most influential bands of our time. If you've never bought a Prodigy record before, buy this album. If you only own "Fat of the Land", buy this album. No matter what kind of music you enjoy, buy this album, put it your home or car stereo, and turn the volume up, all the way up. Let your whole neighborhood hear it. And, if your system is up to par, let them feel it as well. They'll never know what hit them.
Their Law, My Satisfaction.......2006-03-21
It's something unusual for me to buy compilations from my favourite bands; most of the times they are not destined for those who already have the original records and so I generally see it as a waste of money just for a couple of remixes or new tracks you can easily get separately these days; even more unusual is to play compilations for more than a few days... But that's not the case here - I'm listening to Their Law: The Singles for a 2nd week on a row and things tend to carry on like this in the near future.
The look of the box did one part of the job on the store; the presence of a 2nd CD with live material on it did the other. All landmark tracks from The Prodigy can be found on disc 1 - if possible I would only add the rest of the tracks of "The Fat of the Land" but for that is better to get the album, of course... As for disc 2, the remix of "Voodoo People" gives this classic a second life and - speaking about second life, all 5 live-songs are tremendous (Their Law in particular!), raising their original power even further. Excellent compilation!

Customer Reviews:
Very Enjoyable for all music fans.......2006-03-02
This is very good collection of music that brings to life a wide variety of music that is both old and contemporary. The selections vary from composers, historical and famous such as Pavarotti and Puccini to today's James Horner (Titanic, A Beauituful Mind) and John Williams (Star Wars, Sabrina, Jaws, Saving Private Ryan).
If you enjoy the sounds of Sarah Brightman, Charlotte Church, Enya, Kate Bush, Andrea Bocelli, and various theatre music (Andrew Lloyd Webber (Evita, Cats), then you will find this collection worthy of your appreciation.
I have often wondered why classical music radio channels do not play modern composers (i.e., Horner, Willams), and am glad that this album gives them credit that they deserve. There is so many good compositions being created every day that only appear to have a voice on the big screen, which is unfortunate.
Track 11, composed by The Doors, and is a nice version, indeed. I also enjoy the Bond players giving a new twist to some old favourites.
Ciao,
Neil
Absolutely Amazing! Two CDs packed with the world's most beautiful classical music..........2005-11-08
First, let me begin by saying that I am by no means an expert in classical music, but have grown to appreciate it immensely in the past year. I can say wholeheartedly that this is the most beautiful compilation of music I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. It's simple irresistible. There are few words to describe how emotional it is to hear Pavarotti sing "II Canto", or Placido Domingo belt out "Questa o quella". You just get numb with joy!! I have NO idea what they are saying but a translation not necessary. The entire collection (TWo jammed-packed CDs) is phenomenal (excluding the selections from "Bond" which I found to be particularly annoying and not at all "classical" in the true sense of the word). There is something here for everyone, regardless of your personal musical tastes or tolerances.
A guaranteed hit -- Don't miss this one.
CD One
Andrea Bocelli "En Aranjuez con tu amor"
Bryn Terfel - "Granada"
Bond - "Viva" ( not my favorite, sounds almost disco-ish)
Hayley Westenra - "Pokarekare Ana"
Luciano Pavarotti - "Una Mattina"
Katherine jenkins - "Time To Say Goodbye" (a heart stopper - so beautiful!)
Duel - "Canon" (lovely!)
Janine Jansen - "Allegro from 'Spring'"
Andreas Scholl - "Ombra mai fu"
Nigel Kennedy - "The Unknown Soldier"
Kiri Te Kanawa - "Nuns' Chorus"
Nelson Freire - "Chopin Etude No. 1 op. 25
Julian Lloyd Webber - "Flight of the Bumble-bee"
James Horner - "For the Love of a Princess
Hans Zimmer & Lisa Gerrard "Now We Are Free"
Renee Fleming - "Mesicku na nebi hlubokem"
Russell Watson - "Amore e Musica"
CD TWO
Luciano Pavarotti - "II Canto" (I MUST see him sing this in person!!)
Placido Domingo - "Questa o quello" (I never tire of hearing this)
Andrea Bocelli & Bryn Terfel - "the Pearl Fisher's Duet"
Jose Carreras - "Funiculi, funicula
Dominc Miller & Kaori Muraji - "Fragile"
Tavener - "Song for Athene"
Josep Calleja - "La donna e mobile"
Jean-Yves Thibaudet - "Gymopedie No. 1"
Juan Diego Florez - "Una furtiva lagrima"
Kathleen Ferrier - "Blow the Wind Southerly"
Angela Gheorghiu - "Ave Maria"
Janine Jansen - "Schindler's List Main Theme"
Bond - "explosive"
Secret Garden - "You Raise Me Up"
Hayley Westenra - "Never Say Goodbye"
The Three Tenors - "Nessun Dorma"
Enjoy!

Album Description
Since 1990, Saint Etienne has been putting out beautiful, high concept pop music that's as clever as it is catchy. This is their first compilation, collecting songs spanning the group's 15 year career to date and from multiple labels (Reprise, Sub Pop, Beggars Banquet, etc.) It includes their hits "Only Love Can Break Your Heart", "Nothing Can Stop Us", and "Avenue", domestically unavailable tracks like "He's On The Phone" and "Burnt Out Car", and a couple of unissued gems.

Great..........2006-01-07
OK, so if you're feely like a little silly dancepop, get this CD. You won't be disappointed.
My fav tunes:
1)Avenue(Edit)
2)Sylvie
3)He's On the Phone
4)Mario's Cafe
Yawn..........2005-10-31
I never thought I'd say this, but this it the worst that Saint Etienne has put out. I've always been excited to see new Saint Etienne discs, but this was bad... I felt I had been taken.
Before I'm bashed, let me explain...this CD is a repeat of a lot that has been produced already. The only new stuff was the instrumentals and they sounded a lot like existing stuff too.
For any new Saint Etienne fans, I think your money would be better spent on "Tiger Bay", "Good Humor" or a compilation disc. Even Sarah Cracknell by herself is good stuff.
Try to steer clear of this CD.
pop perfection.......2005-08-10
saint etienne fans are apt to throw around superlatives like 'pop,' 'nostalgic,' 'glittery,' and my favorite: 'sophisticated.' and i admit i count myself as one of them. fortuntely, all those superlatives are true. saint etienne, quite simply, is the *best* pop band of the last twenty years.
subpop's 'best of' release (which was hardly necessary given the number of saint etienne 'best of's' out there: 'too you to die, smash the system, etc) is a nice introduction to the band, despite some glaring omissions (how can any 'best of' not include 'you're in a bad way?' criminal!). however, given the breatdth of the saint etienne catalogue (upwards of 300 songs not including remixes -- that'd add another 150 or so), any 'best of' will fall miserably short of truly representing the band's stylistic wanderings and deviations. what's most striking about this collection is how dance-oriented it is. an overwhelming majority of the tracks selected are more suited for dance floor. 'he's on the phone,' 'like a motorway' and 'action,' for example, are prime examples of saint etienne hitting all the right groove-buttons; but saint etienne never rested on their laurels. it would have been easy for st etienne to stand back and keep churning out catchy pop songs (and really, who did it better?).
sadly, some of the et's finest moments ('the process,' 'i buy american records,' 'clark county record fair,' 'california snow story,' 'spring,' 'leafhound,' 'marble lions,' 'former lover,' etc ad naseum) will never reach the casual fan's ears. it's a shame, but i can rest assured that any saint etienne is better than no saint etienne.
in the end, this is a nice intro to those who've never had the experience of hearing the band before; but saint etienne fans, rabid and completist as we are, will most likely buy this for 'fascination' and 'primrose hill' (an acoustic intrumental version of 'soft like me) simply because we have to have it, and doesn't subpop know it. damn them. =)
Just like one reviewer once said about St. Etienne-............2005-06-04
...it's what the pop music SHOULD sound like.
I love Saint Etienne and have been in love with them for a very long time. I love their slow ballads (Carn't sleep), their dancy stuff (Hug My Soul), their instrumental songs (Dunnottar), the experimental (Interlude), and even the spoken samples between the tracks (St. Etienne fans know what I am talking about).
They are pure geniuses and I hope they keep it coming. Just remember- they are a lot more complex than they seem at first. Give them a chance and you will be more than glad.
Great for Etienne Beginners, Less So for Pros.......2005-04-26
OK, from a very pro-Etienne point of view, there are 2 separate reviews that can be written here: one for those new to St. Etienne, and those who are long-time fans.
For those of you who are new to St. Etienne, this is a great introduction. Previous 'Best Of' collections (i.e., Smash the System) are great and more inclusive, but were released before the latest 2 studio albums. This is a great collection that covers the entire span of an incredibly eclectic but unwaveringly good career. As such, if you are only going to buy one St. Etienne CD, this is not a bad choice.
For those who have known and loved St. Etienne for some time, there arise a couple of problems. First are the 2 B-sides that will lure those of us who own all of the other 'best of' songs to buy the new album (myself included) - 'Primrose Hill' is an average instrumental; 'Fascination' is a good (though not great) track, with vintage Etienne sound. The second problem for longtime fans are some of the obvious omissions (Pale Movie, Shower Scene) which may offend the sensibilities of those who care about such things. The liner notes, however, are fantastic and list all Etienne releases (including fanclub-only CDs) and almost necessitate the album's purchase of their own accord.
So, for Etienne beginners and fanatics the album is a must; for those who fall in the middle, it's more difficult to justify.

nu jazz.......2007-04-03
Anyone who like any of Jazzanova's CD's will enjoy this. Buy the Secret Love CD's for a glimpse at their influence and direction. They have fabulous rythym and insight.
Wonderful surprise.......2006-03-23
I had never heard of this group until I ran accross a review of their music in a magazine I was reading. I decided to take a chance and...WOW! I loved it! Great music with a wonderful mix of jazz and R&B. I am definitly looking into buying more of their music.
The Vocals. The Beats. The Blank CD........2005-12-26
Great companion to their earlier Remixes CD. Terrific vocal performances. Beats that stay interesting. Change-ups that crackle with energy. All with a deep, chill attitude and unmistakeable groove.
But where Jazzanova really breaks new ground is the inclusion of a blank "DIY" CD-R. The accompanying text invites you to either: use that blank CD to rip a copy for a friend(!!!); or to go online, download some special Jazzanova tracks and burn 'em to the CD-R for yourself. Now that's cool...

Best of the series.......2006-05-10
I have almost all Cafe del Mar cd's in the series, and this is by far the best cd.
Agree with Most Other Reviews - Very Weak Even as Background New Age Music.......2006-01-15
Definitely not 'chill' as in dance chill - and not even very New Agey, just background music guaranteed not to offend anyone unless you paid full price for this CD :-)
There's nothing wrong with Spanish guitar but not only is Spanish guitar not very 'chill' to begin with - the tracks here are pretty weak tracks and more noddling on a guitar than any real skill.
The CD gets off to a decent start with the first 4-5 songs pretty nice and chill but then it falls off the map. The rest are just recorded notes - nothing distinctive and certainly not worth actually listening or re-listening to.
From beach to yoga .......2005-09-11
Cafe Del Mar was always about cool beachy vibes, the feel was sometimes decadent (perfect for 7am come down sessions). The change came after vol.8. To me it wasn't so much about Jose Padilla leaving, I think it's more to do with their court case which they won (free from Universal Music) so from vol.9 onwards we see new CD artwork and covers, Bruno had little choice but use their new but limited in-house artists. They were more about new age and easy listening. This 25th anniversary album is the perfect example of that, and with so little variation it can easily be used for a yoga session. I liked about 1/3 of the songs here. It's definitely more spiritual with nothing dark in it, even the CD covers nowadays, the sandy beach and the blue sea are replaced by images of new age philosophy graphics and buddha. Just a bit too clean for my liking.
Cafe Del Mar atmosphere! .......2005-08-22
One of the best compilations. But DISC#2 is not so...
Track#1-Private Session [25th Mix]is the BEST!

great mix of 2004 songs.......2005-11-10
"I Wanna Know What Love Is" makes this cd worth getting alone. The song is an incredible song, and the mix is sick. I can't stop listening to this song. I also like "Surrender", though to end the cd with a song with such strong beats wasn't the best idea in my opinion. The other songs you should know from the radio. I won't go into detail on every one of them, but they are all worth a listen on here. I enjoyed the mixing and definitely feel this is the best cd to listen to the hits of 2004 vocal dance.
I like this album a whole lot! .......2005-09-13
Last Christmas, I received this album as one of my gifts. Here are my ratings for all of the songs on this CD:
1) Lola's Theme- Very catchy, disco-like tune. Grade: A+
2) Move Ya Body- Great remix. Grade: A
3) Get Up Stand Up- Pretty cool. Grade: A-
4) How Did You Know- I love this one! Grade: A+
5) You Never Know- Not that awesome, but decent. Grade: C+
6) I Like It- Very upbeat and awesome! Grade: A
7) Pump It Up- This one is good, but a little annoying. Grade: B
8) White Flag- The original version was better. Grade: C+
9) Everytime- I like the original version better. Grade: C+
10) Easy As Life- This one is good. Grade: B+
11) If I Close My Eyes- One of my favorites! Grade: A+
12) Deja Vu- It's okay, but not that great. Grade: B
13) Cherish the Day- A little sappy, but okay. Grade: B-
14) I Want to Know What Love Is- Awesome remix! Grade: A+
15) Rise Again- Good song! Grade: B+
16) Surrender- This one is okay. Grade: B
I play this CD often and it's one of my favorite albums. I'm a huge fan of dance and techno music and that's why I asked for this CD.
We've seen better, but there are quite a few awesome hits!.......2005-01-18
"Dance Party 2004" and "Trance Party 2" were much better than this CD, but that doesn't mean that "Dance Party 2005" isn't good. There are quite a few awesome hits on this CD and one unbeatable, exclusive DJ Sammy hit. OK fine, I'll review every song.
1. Shapeshifters "Lola's Theme" (3:21) B+
Good dance hit with an awesome vocalist. The artist, Shapeshifters, is also called Shape:UK on other dance albums, but its the same popular song.
2. Nina Sky feat. Jabba "Move Ya Body" (Norty Cotto Remix) (3:07) B+
Much better than the original version; much less annoying. The house beat beats (ha ha) the original beat. Look for "Oye Mi Canto", Nina Sky's much better single. Nina Sky are actually two sisters; don't get confused. Good song.
3. Stellar Project feat. Brandi Emma "Get Up, Stand Up" (Phunk Investigation Radio Edit) (3:20) A+
Awesome song! The beat is great, the vocalist is awesome, and the song is overall wonderful. One of the best on the album.
4. Mynt feat. Kim Sozzi "How Did You Know?" (4:09) B
The vocals are good, but the song gets repetitive. The chorus is awesome but a trance remix would really spice up this boring song.
5. Marly "You Never Know" (3:35) B
No, not Bob Marley, nowhere close. The vocalist somewhat reminds me of the vocalist on Eyeopener's "Hungry Eyes" (Now 59). This song is OK. Good beat but kind of boring. Vocals aren't great.
6. Narcotic Thrust "I Like It" (6:15) A-
No need for the extended mix, but this song is pretty good. Much better than their first single. Strange lyrics, but extremely catchy. Good vocalist, good song.
7. Danzel "Pump It Up" (3:51) B+
Kind of annoying, but catchy. I think Danzel won the UK's "Pop Idol", the original "American Idol" only in the UK (duh). Good song. I think this a remix but I'm not sure. A different beat than the original.
8. Dido "White Flag" (Scumfrog Remix) (3:30) C-
Horrible remix of a great song. One, the vocals go too slowly. They just drone on and on. Second, the beat is good, but the other sounds are kind of disturbing and unneeded. This remix is not good at all. Some of the lyrics are even cut off! Nope, never listening to this one again.
9. Britney Spears "Everytime" (Valentin Remix) (3:55) B+
If it weren't for the annoying sounds, this song would easily get an A. Great remix compared to Track 8. Awesome beat and tempo for the lyrics. Better than the Valentin Remix of O-Zone's "Dragostea Din Tea", the most catchy Romanian dance song ever. How random.
10. Deborah Cox "Easy As Life - Theme From Aida - " (3:57) B+
Deborah Cox did a great job in her play outing "Aida" - this dance remix of the theme of the play is OK but nothing too special. Good beat and vocals though.
11. Reina "If I Close My Eyes" (4:00) A
Wonderful song and easily Reina's best. Her 1997 hit "Find Another Woman" was good but then her 2004 single wasn't great. This song opens the new year on a great note. Awesome song - great lyrics and decent beat. Great job, Reina!
12. The Roc Project feat. Tina Novak "Deja Vu (It's Hard To Believe)" (Johnny Budz Breaks Mix) (4:26) B
Good song, but isn't as good as "Never", their first single. Also, the Johnny Budz Breaks Mix of "Never" was better too. Even though the beat remains cool, this song just isn't as deep.
13. Plummet "Cherish The Day" (Antillas Mix) (4:23) B+
Again, their first single, "Damaged", was a lot better. "Cherish The Day" is still a good song though. Great beat and alien-type effects/sounds. The vocalist remains really good. Nice song.
14. Wynonna "I Want To Know What Love Is" (Piper Remix) (5:07) A
Awesome song. Wynonna is an amazing singer and this is a really good song. The remix is awesome because of the really catchy and memorable beat. Deep lyrics and music. I really want to hear her next song.
15. DJ Sammy feat. Loona "Rise Again" (4:04) A+
Best song on the album. This exclusive track is a rare gem in trance music. Great subtle beat, lifting lyrics, and awesome singer. Loona also starred on DJ Sammy's "Boys Of Summer", his 2nd best hit. I can't wait to get the single of this song! I wish there was a second verse, but who cares? This song is awesome and another awesome way to start the year!
16. Lasgo "Surrender" (3:04) B+
Lasgo's vocalist, Evi Goffin, has a wonderful voice. The beat to this song isn't too awesome, though. I'm just glad "Alone" stopped replaying on the radio every five minutes. Decent song, but every Lasgo track is starting to sound frighteningly similar.
Overall, the CD gets a B+. Good songs with the exception of one or two not so great songs. There are classics here such as "Get Up Stand Up", "I Want To Know What Love Is", and "Rise Again", so I suggest this album. Also, "Rise Again" is an exclusive track not available on single for a while. Go to www.loona.com to hear it also...GET THIS ALBUM!
Dance Party: Like It's 2005.......2004-12-25
I first came into contact with Robbins Ent., the folks behind Dance Party: Like It's 2005 with their previous release Trance Party Vol. 4. After TP 4, I was instantly hooked. The songs Robbins & The Happy Boys put out are awesome. DP 2k5 is no exception. There are many chart topping hits like Britney's Everytime, Cox's Easy As Life, and more. If you like popular music with a dance back beat, DP 2k5 is a great choice. Be sure to check out robbinsent.com because these guys put out a lot great music! Oh yea, I highly recommend Trance Party Vol. 4 too!

Customer Reviews:
Nice two disc mixed compilation.......2005-01-25
I can work out to any mixed CD out there. I could go to my local YMCA with my portable CD player and CDs, take out let's say... Armin Van Buuren's "A State Of Trance 2004," put it in my CD player, and play it while gliding on the elliptical machine. But I still like this two disc mixed compilation. This sounds a lot like the live mixes I hear on the Boston radio station, Star 93.7 FM. Disc one contains new dance tunes (except for one of them), and disc two contains classic dance tunes. What I've noticed on both discs is that the songs go in speed order from slowest to fastest. There's the songs' BPM listed on the back of the CD. On disc one, there's songs like GoldFrapp's "Strict Machine" (Benny Benassi Mix). Before I knew what kind of mix this song was, I took a guess that Benny Benassi was involved. That was mostly because I could identify the synthesizers and everything, and that sounded like Benassi's. I read the booklet inside and found out it was the Benny Benassi Mix. Another song on here is "Tell Me Where You Are" by Ago. What I like best about the song is the drums that play while the vocalist is singing. Disc one also includes Oceanlab's "Satellite." It's my favorite song on the album. I remember the first time I heard this song back in spring, 2004. I was so drawn into that tune. It was very hard for me to hit the stop button when "Satellite" was playing, and it still is. There's also Jaydee's "Plastic Dreams." It's one of the darkest sounding tracks on the album with it's bass and tribal percussion. Also on disc one, there's "Traffic" by Tiesto. The mix on disc one ends with this trance hit by the Dutch DJ himself. Other songs on disc one include Narcoootic Thrust's "I Like It," "Turn It Around" by 4 Strings, "I Like Love (I Love Love)" by Solitaire, the Boogie Pimps' "Somebody To Love," and more. Disc two has songs like Voodoo & Serano's "Blood Is Pumpin." I'm glad they selected this classic. I wish I could hear this song at hockey games. I bet it would be a very motivating tune for the players. Other songs on here include "So I Begin" by Galleon. Not to far in the past with this dance hit, but I'm still not tired of it. There's also Alice Deejay's classic "Better Off Alone." So many happy memories back in 2000 with Alice Deejay. This is a timeless club hit. Sandy B's "Make The World Go Round" is also on here. I loved this song. I forgot all about it since it's nearly a decade old. Other songs include "Got The Groove" by SM Trax, Junior Jack's "My Feeling," Future Breeze's "Smile," Trevor & Simon's "Hands Up," and more. Dance mixes don't have to go from slow to fast in order to be a workout mix. The music just can't stop, that's all. Either way, this is still a fun two disc album.
Great workout mix.......2004-12-11
Good mix with none of the usual long breakdowns found in much of trance and high energy dance. Works great for long workouts and the songs are mixed well together. Nice job.
