Music was great but came to me damaged from Amazon.......2007-05-29

The actual CD is great, some of the best from ATB i've ever heard, a little poppy but still good...I was dissapointed with how it arrived from Amazon though. The CD wont even work in one of my CD players, had to upload it to my computer and make new ones for it to work, but now there's a break in between the tracks so so much for hearing a good mix...anyway take your chances, maybe I just got the one damaged one....

Nice trance collection!.......2007-05-21

Together with Armin's State of Trance 2006 and Thrillseekers' Nightmusic, it's the most perfect trance collection of the last 5 years.

Absolutely the best mix of 2006. Both discs, this is what trance mixes should sound like. No filler tracks at all, just perfectly selected.

A Mish Mash of bland mixes!!!.......2007-05-07

Definately not even close the In the Mix 2 in terms of memorable tracks or good mixing. The album simply lacks life and goes weaker and weaker from CD 1 to CD 2. Not a single track stands out making this album good for nothing other than background music when nothing else is at hand. A real disappointment.

One of the best mixes ive ever heard.......2007-04-22

This double CD set is worth its price in gold as far as im concerned. I bought this mix, due in part, to the reviews ive seen here on amazon. Right off the top of my head I cant think of any "fillers" in this one. Yeah, some tracks are better then others, but even the "so so" tracks are above average. The tracks that really stand out to me at the moment are "Servant of Justice" "Summer Rain" "Neno Itome" and "Vital Spark" I also find it quite refreshing to be able to catch reviews of this kind of musical genre from other fellow fans. I know some of the reviewers here spend big bucks on these kinds of releases. Unfortunately, I dont make a ton of doe, so I cant afford the luxery of being able to casually buy every new House/Trance/Jungle release that hits the market. This is why I come to sites like amazon. To see what other fans of these genres have to say. That with the addition of track samples help me make my purchasing decisions in the end. Thanks everybody!

I bought this ablum with the thought that it was going to be as good that their first album. Boy was I way way way way wrong. The only reason I don't give this 1 star is because you can stand listening to it at least twice but that about it. Don't waste your money on this one folks.

Another hard hitting techno mix in this now prolific series........2007-02-08

Other mix series usually swap DJ's for every other mix, or sometimes it's the same DJ on the first disc, and then a different one for every disc 2. However, Sven Väth has taken upon himself to contiually mix his own 2 disc set in his now long running Sound of the Season mix series. With number 7, he comes out with his trademark, heavy hitting techno for disc 1, then lightens it up slightly with some tech house on disc 2. He lets a lot of tracks play very long, like Audion's Mouth to Mouth (which is itself an epic track to begin with), and culminating disc 2 with the stunning Middle Eastern vibe track India in Me by Cobblestone Jazz.

If you're looking for more jarring techno from Sven, this is another weighty installment in his mix series. By the way, the cover on Amazon is wrong, and the back cover artwork shown here is really what the cover looks like. Also, Amazon lists Konstantin Raudive as the artist on track 4, but it's actually by an artist named Oliver Ho, who goes by the name Raudive, and has nothing to do with Konstantin. This is actually my least favorite track on either disc, as the distorted child's voice just makes for one annoying track, even though the musical portion of the track is strong. One last note, the CD has an error in that it lists the Trentemøller track as Nam Nam, when it's actually Killer Kat.

Before Thunderpuss hit their stride..........2005-05-17

Don't expect a progressive Chris Cox mix here. This is very much a sign of what was going on in the mainstream dance music scene before Thunderpuss brought things on really hard. The Abigail track that leads off this CD is one of the hardest, most Thunderpuss quality tracks on here. Most of the others are either dubby or of the hi-nrg variety that is just so 90s cliché. Not to say that's not fun. You get a remake/soundalike Madonna cover of Live to Tell, plus a remix of the Donna Summer dance track originally released in 1992! Even Engelbert Humperdink covers his own song with an earlier Thunderpuss mix. Time lengths:

A Disappointment.......2005-08-06

There is so much better music out there to discover and enjoy. Don't waste your time with this double album. Try Ethereal Melodic Trance instead, for one.

Varied Techno at a Cheapo Price!.......2004-04-23

I actually found this cd at Savers (ValuVillage) for about $5 while dredging for something exactly like this; a techno mix cd (or cds, as the case may be) with some people i actually know! (The Crystal Method, Underworld, Armand van Helden...)

i stuck the bonus disc in the cranky cd player of my friend's car only to find out that the player thought the cd had an 'ERR'.

so i put in the first cd instead.

the sequence the mix goes in gets kind of weird come the middle of the cd, but the first track "Get Bizzy Time" (which samples The Crystal Method's 'Busy Child') is a great start off track, and most of the tracks are only WAAAY better than that one. (with the exception of A P H.P.'s Advice on the second disc. i didn't care for that one very much)

as 'cars' closes, which is, yes, a techno mix of the 80's song, i'll close too: if you're looking for a good techno cd, or one that exposes (seeming) small groups, check this cd out!

psygone and the ozone songs just absolutely kick ass, and i guess there are others out there, now its hard for me to respect this cd cuz my tastes have been changed quite a bit, and funny its because of the songs by those two artists, they are great trance house tunes and i will always love em, its hard now for me to like comps, cuz i hate trippy techno or commercialized crap like the gravy train song or whatever it is, and the cars song was boring redundant and a horrible addition to the wonderful world of techno, i dont understand some peoples taste when it comes to preferences, when they claim that something is complex and stunning i think its boring and obnoxious, sorry people but im an oakenfold fan or van dyke or bt or christopher lawrence

Imperfect but still very good........1999-10-29

The second disc of Into the Mix 1 was well worth the full price, as I believe it drastically overshadowed the remixes. This time around there are few standouts. The only distinctively risky tracks are "Cars" and my personal favorite, "Gravy Train," which is the most inventive techno track I've heard. There's some kind of unlisted bonus afterwards in "Fade Away," which I know nothing about except that it is the mainstream highlight of the compilation. Whether good or bad, you'll notice a difference in the second discs. I don't think round two's tracks (save those mentioned) distinguish themselves enough. This is idle bickering; you can't go wrong with a double disc.

this C.D. was a semi-blind pick....when i got it home, it sat on my shelf for a while...but after i listened to it, it is allways playing in my C.D. player...i love the amazing variety on this C.D., and it's two disks for only twleve bucks!!!, what more could you ever want?

Album Description

Having ended Cocoon's Fourth Season at Amnesia in Ibiza, Sven Väth is again delivering his vision of the world with the Sound of the Fourth Season. In keeping with this year's motto "In Your Face", the first CD starts with technoid slammers; straight and classic - tracks. Sven opens his set with Funk D'Void's brand-new "Emotional Content" and proceeds via ADA "Arriba Amoeba" and LFO "The Freak" to T.Raumschmiere's masterpiece "Monstertruckdriver" - a track which Sven could not keep from playing all summer.

The second CD is a little more quirky with Techno's Man-of-The-Moment Ricardo Villalobos' "Easy Lee" and Dntel or Jackson Fourgeaud as the perfect examples.

If you don't own any of the tracks on CD 1 then put your credit card in right now. I had owned maybe four of these songs and still couldn't keep away from this electro-trance(or is it nu-techno?) progressive bomb. CD 2 is a unique electro/IDM/sometimes downtempo mix that will have you nodding your head and wondering who slipped something in your drink. Essential underground material.

I absolutely love the previous 2 'sound of the...season' cd's (2nd and 3rd) and unfortunately found this one lacking, although I have only listened to it 2 or 3 times so far. It's not terrible, just not up to my expectations from the other 2 as far as energy level and standout tracks. The other 2 reminded me of why I buy this kind of music.

The Sound of the Fourth Season is an amazing compilation, and a great follow up to the Sound of the Third Season. The first cd is a progressive in your face mix of dance Electronica/Electro clash. Best ones are from ADA, LFO and T. Raumschmiere, not to mention Codec & Flexor's Black Diamond,I have been following Vath for 9 years and this guy is a genius. Cd 2 is a bit heavy on the electro, but just as interesting. Good beats from Jay Alansky "Bud Life" to
Bangkok Impact The Floor And Primal Scream's Autoban 66 very interesting...dance..dance dance. You can't go wrong on this one, it is well worth it!!!
