Nothing Original Here.......2006-01-24

When I saw there was another in the series for the Fashion Week disks, I couldn't order it quick enough! My husband owns the other 2-disk sets, and if you listened or own any of them, you'll immediately realize this one is different. With the Fashion Week name on it, I expected to hear rare tracks and music I have never heard before. Although I have never heard any of the music on this album, except the track from "Earth, Wind & Fire" nothing felt 'new', 'fresh' or like I hadn't heard it all before. At least with the first 3 sets, you could imagine models strutting down the runway being hip and cool! On this one, it just sounds like any other R&B collection, nothing that really moved me.

Very Clever Disco/Funk Approach.......2005-08-02

I own the previous three releases of "Fashion Week" (and I thoroughly love them). While those draw upon 80's, 90's, (and current Euro-pop) music, this is a more dedicated disco/funk mix. I initially wasn't sure how this compared to the previous releases. But, after some time to enjoy it (and some reflection)...I would now rank it quite highly. If you've enjoyed previous releases of "Fashion Week", you will not be disappointed with this CD.

Jazzy Disco House w/ a strong serving of R+B.......2005-06-30

Had to tell all you househeads who like there House w/ a lot of R+B influence, to pick this one up immediately. Stumbled across this collection while looking for new beats, this is one of the best dance collections to come out in years. Comparable to the Barfly series if anyone remembers those collections.

Nice jam... it's defintly a party groove.......2000-06-20

It's definitly one of Mr. Cooke's type of work. Personally, it's not as trendy and "fatboy" as it could be, but it defintly stands a chance for its own competition. Its partying going tunes and progressive house type groove are all served mostly throughout the cd. So if u r looking for a glow stick or mind duming trippy sound, this might not be the exact dose of posion you might be looking for. However, if you are into the pure party and dance floor pumping tunz, then buy 2 just for the hell of it.

Have to agree w/ the last reviewer; glad I didn't spend 30 dollars either for this. Unless you weren't alive during most of the 80's, the music on disc 1 sounds like some lounge act rehashing songs that have faded from memory, which wasn't such a bad thing to begin with. Disc 2 is a much more entertaining,its experimental dance music w/ some winning results though I could have done w/o the tiki sounding ending. Buy this one only if you can get a discount,you may be finding yourself using disc 1 for a drink coaster like i did.

I took the advice of the other reviews here and tried it out. I'm not quite sure what it takes to garner 5 stars, but this one doesn't cut it. I found myself skipping forward through most of the tracks on Disc 1. It doesn't take much effort to put together lounge-disco covers of 80's pop tunes, and it's just embarrassing to listen to them.

I would have given it no stars at all, but the last 35 minutes of this two-disc set make up for the sad beginning. The mix gets decidedly more adventurous - once you hit the Royksopp/Akufen/Zongamin/Royksopp section of the disc, you'll be turning it up.

1/3 gorgeous, 2/3 expendable = 2 stars

Since Amazon doesn't offer previews of this CD, go and listen to it before buying. Too bad they don't sell the discs individually.

Brilliant.......2004-02-11

I was quite unsure whether I should buy the album when i first picked it up at the store. I thought I'd give it a shot as I have heard quite a lot of good remixes whilst watching the shows on TV. Once I heard it I knew I made the right decision. The songs are brilliant, great beats, great mixes and perfect for either chill out nights or parties. If you are an electric music / 80's fan then you should buy this album for sure.
