Customer Reviews:
Japanese Duo Delight with fine recording........2006-12-17
Winsome and whimsical. A cd of surprising, aural delights and a genuine grower. 'Floating Glass' echoes everything from Ryuichi Sakamoto to Air to post-modern eclecticism [Reich] without ever overstating the point. Tight, clean production tends towards formality with the first track [Trick] using classical structure to fine effect. Not too much ambient navel gazing here thank heavens. Dreamy, though far from somnambulent, you'll find cool-loungey vibes [Waltz for a Little Bird] and more edgey neon-inspired trance creations [Overflow] with jazzy motifs [vibes!] deftly blended. Crisp, open, subtlely detailed grooves with an ear for spaciousness are to be gleaned thru-out here. The final, lengthy track [A Closed Circuit] is a joy, setting sail to a beautiful, new horizon.
Most of this album would not go far astray as alternative 'Lost in Translation' film music. The albums strength lies in walking that fine line of accessibility and quirkiness, still managing to explore many layers of atmosphere. [The urban jungle sound of 'Kiteletu' is a case in point]. I look forward to new work with genuine anticipation.

Cool. Light. Fresh. Fun. Intelligent. Sensitive. These two guys make good, good music. You will love this CD too.
Another hit from NinjaTune.......2004-12-27
Got it a couple days ago in the mail, has had me hooked ever since.
Not quite as dramatic as Skalpels debut album, but is quite catchy. I'm not very good at writing reviews, but all that you need to know is that if you like bonobo / cinematic orchestra / skalpel, theres a good chance that you will fall in love with this CD.
It's worth a listen, check it out.
