Customer Reviews:
One Of The Best Mixtapes Ever..........2005-03-05
Cater to the DJ Vol. 2, put out by Fat Jack, is the epitome of the LA underground scene. This amazing album is highly stylized, full of character, and moves jazz rap and G-Funk in a whole new direction. With too many artists to count, this album really lives up to its underground cred, given alternative hip-hop followers a real treat. Before, this underground was never really my primary interest in the rap world, but that has now changed. I now focus more and more on the underground, as it has given way to incredible artist like Jay-Z, Nas, and 50 Cent. The underground is where the potential is at, and this album makes you realize that. Definitely not for 50 Cent lovers, but maybe more for Nas' disciples, this album launches rap in every way, shape, and form, and is a pure stroke of genius.
