i love this album. it has some very good songs on it. i like the songs anything is possible, one hand one heart,one step ahead,and another brick falls. i think you will enjoy this if you pick it up.

"Anything Is Possible!".......2007-05-12

This is a great (underrated) concept album. The first eight songs are called "NRG Up" & the last eight songs are called "Mood Swings". The "NRG Up" tunes are danceable pop music from 1990. I love "Another Brick Falls" even though it's a blatant ripoff of "Electric Youth." The hit single "Anything Is Possible", & "It Must've Been My Boy" were co-written, produced, & arranged by Deborah & legendary 1960's Motown writer Lamont Dozier. This was an odd musical coupling, but it works. "It Must've Been My Boy" has a 60's feel to it, so Deborah's paying homage to that type of music which she loves. The "Mood Swings" songs are in the ballad/adult contemporary vein showing a more mature Deborah than her first two albums. Her talent for writing this type of music came in full effect later with the release of her fantastic album "Think With Your Heart" in 1995. Out of these songs I like "One Hand, One Heart", "Sure", "Try", & the sexy sounding "Where Have You Been?" "This So-Called Miracle" is a bloated 7:28 long & sounds very over-produced. Most of the songs on this generous 18-track album have stood the test of time. Unfortunately, this is the case because the album got lost in the shuffle of changing musical tastes as the 1990's emerged. So you can play it now, & it sounds dated yet fresh at the same time because radio didn't play these tunes ad nauseam (like Madonna's early music) until they made you sick of them. Deborah Gibson = A CLASS ACT!

debbie's masterwork?.......2006-11-17

even if it does have a 'transition album' quality feel to it, it blows her first two albums out of the water. out of its ambitious 16 tracks, there are very few i don't like. she really flexes her songwriting muscle on this one. her penchant for musical theatre really starts to show itself as well. the one thing that bothers me about this album is her vocal delivery... a little too breathy. i miss debbie's special brand of pop... no one does it quite like her!

I never realized that Debbie released an album in 1990. I thought, after 1987's "Out of the Blue" and 1989's "Electric Youth" - she disappeared and went on to do "Body Mind Soul" in 1992. I found this album by chance at a local record store that was selling used CDs and cassettes. I decided to pick up a cassette copy and listened to it at home. It's definitely the start of a maturing artists' work in her early 20's. The first five upbeat tracks are really amazing and well-crafted that only a former teen singer/songwriter could. Also, the ongoing theme of this album is a positive one. Other than that, the 'Mood Swings' (track 9 through 16) side are filled with radio friendly ballads that never got the time of day. Songs like 'One Hand, One Heart', 'Sure' and 'This So-Called Miracle' would have made great adult contemporary radio hits. I still enjoy this album, even though it's almost out of print. This is a must-have and a cherish collection to any die-hard Debbie Gibson fan.

anyone who tries to lump debs with other average '80s artistes is so wrong!

she was/is a true artist, writing all her own material, playing most of her own music, and looking pretty good too!

this album has the "bubble gum" element to it, but that's partly what's good about, the "old skool"/teenage crush element.

i love her ballads, as they sound so heart-felt, but her pop tunes always feel like just having a fun time "hanging with your girlfriends" .

This is a double disc rerelease of Deborah'd third and fourth cds! Its worth owning if you collect Deb merchandise! Nice pics inside! It would of been nice had bonus tracks been added.

Nice, but .......2006-01-20

To be quite honest, I don't buy a lot of so called traditional `Gospel' music. This is for a number of reasons. I find that listening to this genre, there is a lot of what I would call `Gymnastics' being adhered to. By this I mean that, vocally, because most artists have superb voices, they feel that it gives them license to wail and holler all over the place. Whilst some may tell me that is what Gospel is about, I find that it distracts from the musical message, of the gospel of Christ. Also, to me, many artists seem to follow what's hot in the R&B scene and adapt that to suit their needs, rather than try and be original. This leads me onto this CD. To me this CD is a mix of two styles. You do have your `Bump- this- in-your- jeep toons (`Use me' comes to mind as an example) and your more traditional style offerings( The Sun will shine, Go tell it on the Mountain). The four young men have excellent voices, and the production is tight. I just wish that they, like many of their contempories, would take a chance and sing about other topics. For example, the issue of killing sin, in the Christian's life, temptation, pain and hurt, are all topics that this reviewer can think of, but unlike Holy Hip-hop, where these issues are being covered, gospel, to my knowledge, seems quiet. I know this is (as far as I know) their only/debut CD, so maybe I'm being a little harsh. A pleasant debut, that whilst good, is no different to what's on the market. I would welcome anyone recommending artists to me that are different in the gospel scene.

I have had the previlige of going to school with these guys and they were anointed then. I love this cd and have been blessed by the songs "Use Me" that is a song for me because that is what I want God to do. I love them and I believe that they know that. I am so glad that God sent us some young inspirational singer. Youth Edition, is the greatest thing that could have ever happen to this new generation. I would like to thank Kevin, Keith, Reggie and Van for the inspiration that they have given to me. The album is HOT!! I know with Gods help they're going to rock this nation. Will young is a talented and the true pop idol. This is sung much better than gareth could ever sing it, and Will is a true sensation. Although evergreen is a westlife cover, it has never been released until now. Evergreen is a beatiful song, which is an all time favourite of mine.
Anything is possible, is written by Cathy Dennis, who also wrote S Club 7's Don't stop movin', as well as Kylie's massive single 'Can't get you out of my head'
this is truly worth your money, so with Will, and his distinct voice, you cannot go wrong!

Will Young has a terrific voice, and has his own distinctive style of performing, going from strength to strength.His beautiful voice singing the songs on his first release,moved a nation to want to get out and buy in such quantities that it was a true record breaker.Will's particular style, is peculiar only to himself. A true individual, he keeps the audience in suspence as to which version of a track he will perform, and always,always, never fails to leave the listener, wanting to hear more. He puts beautiful interpretation and feeling into the words he sings, always a moving performance.
A great example of this, was the first ever performance he gave in London recently,of WHAT'S IN GOODBYE?the Burt Bacharach/Cathy Dennis song,He moved us, the audience, to tears, with this oh so beautifully moving, slow sung ballad, which you find yourself humming all day!!The new Album is a very definite must have.
I recommend the listeners to buy the whole collection.

Glad people in the US are noticing our talented Will. I am a huge fan of his. He is such a genuinely lovely guy and his voice is just amazing. I have never heard anything like it. Look out for his album which is due for release here in the UK on October 7th. Im sure will be a masterpiece!

Glad that you are enjoying our lovely William in the States. I went to see him perform with Burt Bacharach in London last week and he was truly amazing. He performed a new song written for him by Burt called 'What's in Goodbye'. If you are a Will fan this will blow you away. I don't know if it will be released as a single but will feature on his album due to be released on 30th September.

Will Young has the voice of an angel. His voice is so sweet that it seems like these songs were wriiten for him. I found out about Will from reading Top Of The Pops magazine and absolutley fell in love with his voice the moment i heard him sing "Evergreen". This song is definately worth buying if you want great entertainment and a nice mellow feel. He's cute, his voice is gorgeous, and is the best singer ever.

Britpop meets NYC sound in a unique combination that is stylish, catchy and remarkably honest. It's hard to pick a favorite from this fabulously produced album, but for argument's sake I will say "You Were loved", so reminiscent of George Michael's best ballads. Definitely a must have album, also for the pleasure of being able to say you were there from the beginning when this becomes, as it deserves to, the next pop sensation!
