Customer Reviews:
Remastering is fantastic.......2006-10-17
Have you ever wanted to listen to the music of the 30's, but couldn't stand the poor sound quality and noise?
Listen to Jasmine's jazz collections-it feels like you've been transported back to the 30's to listen to the music the way it was meant to sound on the radios of the day.
Simply superb!
Excellent set for the money.......2006-02-20
This is a great set of 1930s big band music, with all the major bands represented here (along with a number of lesser-known bands). The selection of tunes is interesting--there are plenty of "old classics" for this to be a good introductory set for the big band newcomer, but enough obscurities to satisfy long-time collectors. The sound quality is quite good--surface noise is minimal, but when the engineers cut it out, they took a little of the sound's "crispness" with it. Fortuantely, there's no digital "artifacting" here, but the recordings sound just a little dull sometimes (sound-wise, not necessarily performance-wise!). For a four-CD set, I would have expected a little more in the way of liner notes, but those that are here are o.k. Fortunately, the booklet provides recording dates and original matrix numbers for the serious collectors. This is a very listenable set, and for the price, it's hard to beat. Great music! Highly recommended!

Product Description
Organic textures of flutes blended with alluring synthesizer timbres. A classic electronic music album by renowned group, Emerald Web. The Web continues to blend organic, elemental timbres of flutes and other acoustic traditional instruments with the latest tools of musical technology. From their earliest album together, (1978) "Dragon Wings and Wizard Tales" to "Manatee Dreams of Neptune", they have always remained true to their vision of a beautiful simplicity, yet paradoxically their music exudes an alluring warmth and elegance through technology. Robert Carlberg, music reviewer for Electronic Musician Magazine
