Customer Reviews:
Not quite the same as the first.......2007-07-03
but just as good in its way. Silver's mix covers a range of happier sounds, kicking off with an almost funky couple of tracks - the 'Rush Hourz' mix is irresistible. After that there's more vocal goodness, highlights including 'Born To Love U' and 'Ordinary World'.
Just as on the first in the series, Kevin Energy's set will impress you with its brilliance - freeform, trancecore, whatever you want to call it, it's a fascinating, hectic 70-odd minutes of genius. Standout tracks - 'Cold', 'Planet of Dreams' and "Atomic Orbital', of course.
Get it if you can, and hunt down the blue album, because Kevin Energy's mix there is astonishing.Hardcore Heaven, Vol. 3Hardcore Heaven V.4
Not a Good Way to Help Hardcore Continue It's Climb.......2005-04-20
Since the majority of my freetime at home consists of listening to happyhardcore.com radio, I decided to pick up their second album. Not impressed at all. The tracklist is decent enough, though many of the songs on here have already appeared on various other hardcore mixes. The others are the typical off-the-wall tracks that Silver loves to put in his mixes... the songs that would turn off the casual hardcore listener. However, what really kills this mix is the, well... mixing. Silver does a pretty good job of raping any good that can be found in the tracks. One of the best tracks on the entire album (Love Me Forever) is cut short by one of the worst mix jobs I've ever heard in my life. The song doesn't even pick up steam until the middle, and Silver just rapes it of life but doing a 2 second mix into the next song. Awful. On top of that, many of the songs have different volume levels, a terrible oversight for a mainstream mix.
My advice to Silver is to bag the off-the-wall tracks when releasing a mainstream mix like this. Leave those songs to the online radio or to other mixes that aren't targeting the massive trance fan base. The goal of this mix is to bring even more fans to a small but rapidly growing genre. This album will not do that. Kevin Energy, who does a fantastic job on his songs and mixing, could find a better project to work on.
Decent disc but not as good as the original Hardcore Tsunami.......2004-09-21
Happyhardcore.com has been putting out some pretty good releases. If you liked this cd, you'll want to head over to Amazon's UK store and order the original Hardcore Tsunami. The genre "Happy Hardcore" has a lot of fast beats and adrenaline producing sounds. I'm no raver or genre expert but this has definitely gotten me searching for similar music anywhere I can.
