Pretty good, but it gets a little tired.......2000-08-18

First off, I love Kiss 100 in the UK. I've owned two compilations that they put out and loved them, so when I heard about this compilation I didn't even bother to research it too much -- I bought it because I trust the compilers.

And... there's a lot to be happy about! Living in the States, I found that I recognized half of the songs on this compilation. It is a good reflection of this year's Urban/R&B offerings.

Wait -- maybe I should backtrack when I said "this year's." There's a lot on this disc that you heard back in 1999. Unfortunately, that's what's keeping me from locking this in my CD player on repeat.

The mix of artists is excellent (especially this Craig David guy -- what a great single). But there's a lot on here that you've heard before. I highly recommend buying it for the mix and the new material that hasn't been discovered yet in the States. And then, buy another Kiss compilation like House Nation 2000!

Refreshing Summer Grooves.......2000-06-21

Perfect for playing at full volume in your garden, whilst soaking up the sun,this album together with its collection of various artists have been superbly selected, and could not have been released at a better time - the beginning of those (hopefully!) hot summer months. The album itself consists of a wide variation of musical tastes, ranging from hip hop to garage and R & B. All of the tracks selected have remained in popular positions in the charts in the past year, and unlike other compilations of it's sort, where you have to by two or three albums with various artists to sucessfully collect your favourite summer tunes, KISS - Smooth Grooves had encorporated them all on one album. I would recommend this collection of literally 'Smooth' summer 'Grooves' to anyone with a particular taste for distinct rythem.
