Relaxing beach party reggae.......2004-06-18

One of my favorite Shabba albums. Lots of cheesy synth and lyrics, but hey, that is reggae. Maxi Priest also does vocals on a few tracks. If you are looking for a nice, relaxing sound to vibe to on the beach or at a party, this is a good start.

A great time for reggae was the mid to late eighties, when the riddims got digital and the bass got even deeper than before. This compilation is a selection of delightful Jammy tunes. Dean In Chinatown: Dean Fraser playing sax over a digital riddim, sounds a bit like a christmas song. Chaingrabber: Johnny Osbourne singing about rudeboys snatching other peoples golden chains; Rock Them One By One: dubplate style, youthman riddim; Conscious Lover: great lovers rock by Admiral Tibett; Nuff A Dem A Gwaan: another dubplate, on the skylarking riddim;Move On: my favourite; the Wailing Souls with great vocal harmony; Pass Me A Dubplate: the great voices of Brian & Tony Gold bigging up Jammy's, Drifter riddim; Taller Than King Kong: this one I don't like, but one bad song in 18 is not too bad; I like Yvonne: far east; Jammy You Hit Me: Brian & Tony Gold on 'who she love'..
