The first three chords of this CD plays, and then a sole violin comes in sweetly in minor, "I CAN MAKE IT RIGHT!", Nina Martinez belts out and at that moment you know, this lady means business. "GIVE ME JUST ONE NIGHT" is not only beautifully written, the production mastered by Edwin Ramos accompanies Nina and never overpowers her vocals throughout this CD. It is written in the classic freestyle dance nostalgic genre yet it packs a NEW punch flavor. Nina flawlessly sings through her debut CD with feminine grace and artistic skill. In "NEVER", Nina gives you a Spanish flair with a pop/dance infectious chorus. "You showed me love and you give me the strength to survive". Very well written "Angel" shows a more reflective side to love and appreciating your life partner. Just beautiful! "DO ME RIGHT": This pop tune is fresh and hot; it has some old school elements in it melodically and it kind of gives you a warm, nostalgic feeling inside as you sing along. And sing along you will as Nina made sure her choruses are as infectious as her voice is. "I CAN'T WAIT": She is waging a war against the racism in this life! 'Nuff Said-- very nice hip hop beat on this and Nina expresses her frustration on prejudice, ignorance and the stereotypes we deal with on a day to day basis. "GET ON THE DANCE FLOOR": nice dance tune with possibility of some really thumping dance remixes! "NO SHAME": Awesome, awesome R&B hook here and Nina handles this flava with no hesitation; background vocalist combines with Nina's strong vocals perfectly. "WE CAN DO THIS": My favorite track on the CD! It contains a hip-hop base and a reggaeton ride you will find yourself humming long after you turned off your player. Nina's vocals again are strong and show a DIVA attitude that serves this tune well. NINA MAKES THIS THE "RIGHT" CD TO GRAB!! Nina also has a follow-up to "Give Me Just One Night" coming soon so if I were you, I would start your NINA collection now!

NINA MARTINEZ really comes through on this album and shows that she can not only sing FREESTYLE but also does fantastic with her R&B tracks as well. The title track "GIMMIE JUST 1 NIGHT" is simply a Classic in the making. This album is highly reccomended to fans of FREESTYLE and R&B / Pop Music.

                This is an interesting document from the early-mid nineties San Francisco Ambient Electronica scene. It contains Silent Records'owner Kim Cascone's Heavenly Music Corporation, Post New Age Proto Pre-paganist Spritual Alchemist and Intellect Richard Sun of ATOI and Embryonic Particle Evocation which was a production by KPFA Engineer Yarrow Sweningson, film special effects legend Chris Halsteàd and Justin Beck of the current underground electronica group BioUtopia. A weird and subtle jem of a CD that would prepare your pychology for an extraterrestrial encounter.
