Absolutely Pure & Beautiful.......2005-10-31
If you buy no other classical music, buy this collection. CD 1 (Relax) is perfect for dinner, quiet entertaining or just soft music while you're working. From "Come Away With Me", to "Whiter Shade of Pale" to "Knights in White Satin"... each piece is it's own movement - and moved you will be... Perfect for a romantic evening. CD2 is more robust, but equally entertaining. "Layla", "Livin On A Prayer", Stairway to Heaven", "Run to You" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" - you owe it to yourself to hear these licks performed by the RPO.
Symphonic Rock.......2005-07-25
It really isn't rock, but it is a very pleasant presentation of popular music, rendered in creative ways by a full symphony orchestra. It sounds like the orchestra had a great time making these CD's.
pleasant easy listening.......2005-07-19
It's not extremely interesting music, but nice background, relaxing and pleasant with full orchestra. Not a bad buy at all!
Excellent CD.......2005-03-20
I received this as a present and at first I wasn't sure if I would like it because I don't like some of the original songs, but there's something about hearing the orchestra play that makes me like all of them. Just try it out.

Customer Reviews:
Not much new here.......2004-04-14
I view this CD as somewhat of a rip-off. As a new release, under his own name, I expected all new music, but instead found out that about half of them are on the Hotel Costes series, which I already own. Of the "new" material, I find it either just so-so or flat out bad. If it weren't such a hassle I'd return it. The three stars are for those songs which I found good on the previous Costes CD's, otherwise it would be a ONE star review.
CLOSER TO POMPOUGNAC!!!.......2004-02-23
Monsiuer Stephane Pompougnac mixer of the illustious Hotel Costes series has finally released his own album with some very good stuff! And for those of you expecting this to be a doppelganger of the series, you're absolutely right! "Living on the Edge" has that Pompougnac flavor that has been on Hotel Costes for years. There's bossa nova (Morenito), hiphop (the title track), pop (the cute and clumsy,"Clumsy"), jazz (Loulou de Pomérane), funk (Pour Faire le Portrait d'Un Oiseau), ambient (Fog) and house (every other song in between). Of course, there are a few songs here that you may have heard on previous stuff by Pompougnac, but, OK, so what? It is his material--the fact remains that SP has proven that he is just as skilled as an artist as he is a mixer!
Should be better..but anyway 4 stars!.......2004-01-12
From the "Master" of Costes series (dont' forget to include on it also : Saks fifth avenue) this is the first adventure as single player.
The final result it's good but not excellent.
The first thing is that he put in this cd some songs already present in the Costes series : (4 songs in 13 totally makes 30% of the cd already knows).
The others songs are ok and are quite more danceable than usual.
Double beat, Living on the Edge and Fast and Loud are probably the strongest of the CD.
Funny are : Loulou de Pommery and Petit Pompopou (where the little son of Pompugnac is smiling).
Nice also the melody Clumsy ( a little contribute to pop/beat).
Well a CD that you must have if you are a "unconditionally" fan of "le roi de Paris" (as me of course!)
Pompugnac : we are waiting the next one hoping will be a five stars!
One edgy album!.......2004-01-06
What can I say? Mr. Pompougnac is a fantastic DJ as his Hotel Costes series has proven this. "Morenito" both versions were excellent which the bossa version was also in Costes 6. I also love the lounge influenced "Clumsy". If you like Hotel Costes series then you should grab this one.
Fabulouse! One more time!.......2003-12-15
... and again, at least two songs I get obsessed with. 4th and 6th, my same favorites of Costes 6. Is Stephane trying to give me a "numerical message"?. I mean obsessed with, always love songs. Too artsy little loungy?

Incredible, but there's NOTHING like a Juggling show! : ).......2004-06-02
Juggling Suns have been musical heroes to me for years. Unlike many jambands, they not only jam their collective arses off (in a groupmind unlike any other current band) they are also darned good songwriters and singers with THOUGHT PROVOKING AND ENLIGHTENING lyrics. I'd say order this CD and listen to it. If you like what you hear go to the Juggling Suns dot com website and order their latest stuff. Even better, try to see these guys real soon. They are the deal. -cc-
I liked Diomede's work with Solar Circus better..............1999-07-31
There's a reason why Mark Diomede and company still play a lot of the old Solar Circus songs with the band Juggling Suns, and that's because those were (and still are) great songs. Still, while this live Juggling album is a nice addition to your jam-band collection, I would have to recommend the following trio of albums in it's place to understand the true greatness of Mr. Diomede and Solar Circus, pre-Juggling:
(1) Solar Circus: Juggling Suns; (2) Solar Circus: Twilight Dance (Live);
(3) Solar Circus: Step Right Up
Great jam band.......1999-02-17
Have checked out moe. Phish, etc. Juggling Suns are definitely in the same league.
If you're into jam bands, this is a very good disk. As usual with jam bands, the live show is ultimately where it's at.
awesome improve music for the mind.......1999-02-09
This band is outragous live, i'm a big phish fan who has been to many shows, but i'd rather go to a juggling show

Customer Reviews:
A Living Music.......2000-09-29
One of the most gifted and original tenorists of his time, Dewey Redman really shows his abilities on this well-rounded set. Splitting his time between straightahead material and his more usual avant-garde leanings, he proves how strong he is in a variety of settings. His "Blues for J.A.M." is a soulful slow blues where he improvises a cliche-free and stunning tenor solo. In contrast, "As One," a duet with pianist Geri Allen, is several minutes of free improvisation that stand as a high water mark of the genre. With fine support from Allen, bassist Cameron Brown, and drummer Eddie Moore, this album is worth searching for.

Product Description
Living on the Edge, the title track of Axe's 2nd album, released in 1980. Axe evolved out of a late seventies outfit called Babyface. Axe released four brilliant albums and split in the mid 80's, with Barth joining Blackfoot for a while. He also released a solo album, "Two Hearts One Beat", in 1986. He revived Axe in the late nineties and also featured with Red Rock Roosters. You'll also spot his name on the covers of Cita and Guild of Ages albums.
Customer Reviews:
AXE's Best!.......2007-01-26
In my opinion the best product put out by Axe. What a way to open up the 1980's. I saw them live with Quiet Riot, Queensryche, Humble Pie, and Mother's Finest for 5 bucks in Houston, TX and these guys were worth every dollar I paid. I already knew them from their debut album [Axe-1979] and their album under the name Babyface-1977 [not the Pop/R&B star] and their stage presence was enough to hook me. Although the band had relatively little commercial success they had a string of AOR hits, which included "Living on the Edge", "Fantasy of Love", "First Time, Last Time", "Carry On", and "I Can't Help Myself" from this album alone. They received extensive airplay in San Antonio, Houston, and Corpus Christi. The band had 3 good songwriters, although Bobby Barth and Michael Osbourne, who died in 1984 ending the bands recording career until V was released almost 20 years later. If you like Hard Rock with good vocals, riffs, and a driving beat, these guys may suit your fancy. Axe and Living on the Edge are not cheap, though, so, you might try Nemesis or Offering first [great deals available on both]. They both have songs you should recognize unless you weren't alive in the 80's. Axe highly recommended by metal enthusiasts.
Axe's Second Album.......2006-03-08
With their band name and album cover artwork, you expect Axe to be a metal band. Instead, Axe delivers somewhat hard-charging AOR/melodic rock. Not necessarily REO Speedwagon, but not Judas Priest either. Call them the American version of April Wine.
Living on the Edge is the band's second album, and is very much a product of its time. Rock albums released in the early 1980's have a certain sound. It's not easy to describe, but you can usually tell within the first minute that you're listening to a 1980 release. Living on the Edge is 33 minutes of love songs, party anthems, and one ill-conceived cover of the Motown classic I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honeybunch). Of course there are plenty of big hooks, keyboards, and guitar solos. It may sound a bit dated 26 years later, but it's still plenty of fun to listen to.
Axe should appeal to fans of 80's rock and metal, particularly bands like April Wine, Foreigner, Demon, Uriah Heep, Balance, Touch, and REO Speedwagon.
The tracklisting for Living on the Edge is as follows:
1. Living on the Edge
2. Fantasy of Love
3. First Time, Last Time
4. Carry On
5. Running the Gauntlet
6. I Can't Help Myself
7. Just Walk Away
8. Let Me Know
