To write about Matt Flores’ musical career in detail would mean to write a book about the history of club music. Matthias "Matz" Flores began to DJ and MC in the late eighties. His affinity with British club musicians had always been very strong, as much as the everlasting affection towards the venerable mothers of club music: Hip Hip and Reggae / Dub. In 1993, when he heard the first hardcore Jungle tunes of the Ragga Twins and Rebel MC, he was signed, sealed and delivered.
His discography holds about 40 (!) releases. His tracks can be found on labels like Typhoon, Basswerk, Konter and Draft. Flores has also released several singles, two full albums, and collaborations with Zed Bias and Tyree Cooper with J. Buzz as 2Smart on the Gush label, a Garage/Breaks/Two Step collective. Matz also runs the Drum n Bass imprint Compiler.
Following the acclaimed release of his Digital Self single, which made it in the cases of people like Aquasky, Pressure Drop and Jazzanova, Matt Flores presents the full length album Metaworld, an expression of 15 years of club music and culture, with all its influences from Disco, House chords, Garage basses, Dub, Detroit Techno and of course London Breakbeats and Drum 'n Bass.
