This 1982-issued album was not as powerful or inspired as 1974's "El Conde" or 1976's "Este Negro Si Es Sabroso" but Pete really shows how a salsa sonero should sound like on the ultra-hot guaguanco dance tracks "Tristeza", "Pastorcillo" and "Fiesta En El Barrio". Along with Cheo Feliciano, Chamaco Ramirez and Justo Betancourt, Pete "El Conde" Rodriguez was a living example of the classic sonero's artistry.
