Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Classy Cuban mix of jazz and Latin rhythms.......2005-09-30

I just had to buy this CD after hearing Teresa Garcia Caturla perform live at a Buena Vista Social Club Concert in the Hotel Nacional Havana in October 2003 and haven't been disappointed. It was the first time I had even heard of her but like most Buena Vista "asociados" she belies her age with an energy, humour and vitality which pervades the music. If the album has a fault it is for not exploring the full range of Teresa's ability - on first hearing there a sameness about some of the arrangements. Stick with it however you'll be unable to resist its persistent, toe-tapping, head-nodding rhythms. Oh, and turn up the volume!

5 out of 5 stars Llego Tete won the Cubadisco 2004 Grand Award.......2004-05-25

It's not surprising for this disc mixing the talent and experience of one of the bigger singers of Cuba with the energy and genius from young unbelivable artists.

A modern way to enjoy old cuban music.

This disc is a must !

2 out of 5 stars A chance to hear the great Teresa.......2003-12-24

Although there are some aspects of this CD I don't like (the pop sounding arrangements, for one), it still represents a chance to hear the great Cuban vocalist, Teresa Garcia Caturla. However, if you really want to know why she is such a good singer, listen to the Estrellas de Areito releases. It is on these that you can best appreciate her rhythm, energy, and humor.
